I'm getting back into my eBaying, massive clear outs will keep me busy over this free listings weekend, wondered if anyone wanted to join me in making Christmas as cheap as possible and having the good people of eBay pay for most of it!

It's been a week and I still haven't received payment for 2 of the items I sold.
Am a bit annoyed tbh. Have sent a message to the buyers asking if they want them or not.
What else to do? Just leave it and see what heppens?

fergoose · 06/11/2012 18:41

get your unpaid cases open - no point messaging and waiting any longer I reckon.

SilveryMoon · 06/11/2012 19:12

Thanks fergoose have just done it.
Missed this weekens FL, meant toput up a few little bits but ran out of time.
I have a roof-top box to sell too.

ontheedgeofwhatever · 06/11/2012 19:28

I've started a thread on my first complaint - the buyer is acting very oddly so any advice would be welcome if you have time to take a look. Thank you

SilveryMoon · 06/11/2012 19:44

ontheedge She sounds like a right loon! No advice from me, i am very new to all this ebay stuff Smile

LineRunner · 06/11/2012 21:49

Hello Sunny, and Captain. How's it going?

CaptainKirksNipples · 07/11/2012 13:18

Have made £35 after postage selling 9 disney DVDs, and listed some more stuff last night still to be filled with details but wanted it to end on Sunday night and it saves paying scheduled time fees!

You guys seem to be much better than me at this Grin

amck5700 · 07/11/2012 18:28

I haven't been in this post before and haven't read through all the posts, but a month ago I decided to do the same - set myself a 200 target. I hadn't sold much before, just the odd item. I've mainly sold the kids clothes some of which were unworn and I also sold my son's kindle as he hasn't looked at it - anyway - I am now sitting with nearly 400 in my paypal account :o

Okay, I have ebay fees to come off that and I've paid the postage from my own funds, but still, I think I have made over 300 in actual profit!!!

Still have things to sell but they wont let me list it as it is "premium brands" and i've used up my allocation of 3 items in 30 days Confused don't know wtf all that is about!!! Don't they want people to sell good stuff??

I now need to start emptying the cupboards etc to see what else I can shove on!

Hope everyone is heading towards their target too.

LineRunner · 07/11/2012 18:35

I've been selling since the summer and it's only been since last month that I seem to have had the limits on selling console games lifted. As the main reason I joined ebaY was to (hopefully) shift my DC's abandoned DS, wii and xbox games, this is good news.

amck5700, I think it's a 90 day period before your limits are lifted.

amck5700 · 07/11/2012 20:05

LineRunner - when I try to list them it says that I can list only 3 premuim brands in any 30 day period. I have a brand new adidas tracksuit and a brand new pair of adidas swim trunks and a new ladies Nike shell jacket sitting ready to go on and I can't list them until god knows when! I also have some new H&M kids winter jackets to go on but not sure if they count that as a premium brand - might have a go later.

LineRunner · 07/11/2012 20:25

You could contact ebaY and ask for a higher selling limit on that category, and see what they say.

amck5700 · 07/11/2012 20:34

Never thought of that Linerunner :) I'll give it a go - I'd like to carry on and get some stuff out the house and a few quid in the pot - then I can get some shopping done - hoping this Christmas is going to cost me next to nothing - other than all the cash I spent in the first place on stuff that I bought and never returned or the kids never wore or grew out off too fast!!!! There must be some way to stop the blighters growing.....

amck5700 · 07/11/2012 20:36

...Actually it says I can list them, just not in the Clothing category and it costs a lot more to list in Sportswear - I think that's what it is trying to make me do.

LineRunner · 07/11/2012 20:37

If you do, try to speak to a human being tomorrow morning in Dublin, and stress your positives - good feedback in the category, a credit card registered with your PayPal acccount, good credit rating, etc.

EbaY are (rightly) trying to prevent people selling counterfeit items and burgled stuff, hence the normal 90 day wait period.

LineRunner · 07/11/2012 20:38

X posted. That's a new one on me!

amck5700 · 07/11/2012 20:59

Yes it is a bit strange - it wouldn't let me re-list an item because I had exceeded the number too Confused.

I am happy that they prevent people selling counterfeit stuff - they are happy for me to list used stuff just not new - I happen to have some new items because I ordered stuff in sales and never returned when it didn't suit or they already had enough in their drawers. I must try to resist bargains!!

Sunnywithachanceofshowers · 07/11/2012 21:10

Hello all

I'm going to do my first sales this weekend - I've got so much stuff to get rid of and I keep thinking of more! I've got some lovely Clarks boots which I hope will find a new home.

Dingle · 09/11/2012 10:53

How is everyone doing? My listings finish over the weekend. Out of the 18 I have watchers on 8, but only 3 have actually sold so far, for minimal prices! Hmm Two Blue-rays and a boy's Next coat. Still hopeful though. Wink

Nothing like a bit of optimism!

amck5700 · 09/11/2012 11:10

Well, I have achieved my £300 :) I have £400 in the paypal account, £48 of fees to come out and I have paid postage myself which must be about the £50 mark if not maybe a wee bit more but I have also spent over £20 from it - my selling total says £346.

I do however have a full suitcase of stuff still to list and that's before I think about the things that are on shelves/in drawers and the walking/snow boots/ski jackets etc that are still in the cupboard under the stairs.

Some things have gone for 99p and a huge boost for me was the kindle I sold and a game that I bought for the kids christmas as part of the 3 for 2 at Tesco and then decided it was too old for them.

Hope everyone gets good results from their sales this weekend - I have nothing listed at the moment so will have a busy weekend when our visitors leave putting more things on.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 09/11/2012 14:18

Good work amck5700, I have to admit to spending my PayPal balance nearly as fast as accumulating it!

Lots of watchers on my stuff that ends this weekend. Really hope they turn into bids!

amck5700 · 09/11/2012 14:25

lol, it is tempting isn't it - I had to remind myself the object of the exercise was to get rid of stuff and get money for Christmas. so restricted myself to a nice shirt for one of my boys and a pair of boots for school for the eldest.

I was reading on another thread about someone getting their paypal balance frozen so I have just transferred the bulk out to my bank and left enough to cover my fees.

Good luck with your items - I am going to list more this weekend I think - although actually if we are all listing is there anyone left to buy!!???

amck5700 · 09/11/2012 14:26

The other reason I still had the money was that the boys were still working on their lists - feeling panicky because I have usually finished my shopping by now.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 09/11/2012 20:20

Any idea when the next FLW might be anyone?

ontheedgeofwhatever · 09/11/2012 20:52

My sales seem to have slowed to a very small trickle. I currently have 12 items listed and only have bids on 3 of them and 2 of those are only 99p. Barely got any watchers either.

My total profit after fees is £184.97 so still got a long way to go if I'm going to get to the £300 and some of that is on items that haven't been paid for :(
