I'm getting back into my eBaying, massive clear outs will keep me busy over this free listings weekend, wondered if anyone wanted to join me in making Christmas as cheap as possible and having the good people of eBay pay for most of it!

Can I join you all too please? Just noticed it's a free listings weekend on my Ebay account and I have tons of ELC Happyland toys to get rid of. Going to keep a few bits for the DC but most is hardly played with and taking up much needed space! May have to list as pick up only on most as I will be selling in big lots which is going to attract lower the bids unfortunately.

lljkk · 03/11/2012 16:10

Be sure to try to learn from all our mistakes!! Wink

£50 is a good target. Maybe most I hope for at this point.

DH blew my Paypal balance on another set of bike wheels last night Hmm. Coz we really needed them, what with the 18 bikes & 4 sets of spare wheels already in the garage. Technically wheels are for DS (who has about 15 Nerf guns to list tonite, if he can get himself organised).

Plus I spent £250ish yesterday on outing & necessaries for DC & even slight unnecessaries for ME (yes, ME, I bought something for ME!!).

We have barely thought about Xmas shopping, too.

I've 2 small lots to package up, now :).

Dingle · 03/11/2012 16:18

I've only listed a few DVDs and Blu-rays so far but I have a ton of my sons books to get rid of. Do you think Ebay or has anyone had experience of selling of Amazon or similar?

I will make a start on some of the children's clothes tomorrow when I can photograph in good light.

Dingle · 03/11/2012 16:21

lljkk, you have just reminded me of the set of steel wheels and wheel trims that have been sitting in the corner of the garage since the Summer, just waiting for DH to clean up and sell! LOL

lljkk · 03/11/2012 17:09

Flog 'em!! Grin

I had one good sale on Amazon.co.uk but now my settings insist that I'm based in the USA so can't sell UK goods. Have tried hard but cannot figure out what to change.

There was another Ebay thread on MN where someone listed somewhere better to sell DVDs, could google for it, I guess.

StillThinkingOfANickname · 03/11/2012 20:35

Off to a good start - sold 2 items with a BINB for £90 in total. They are collection only so I am pleasantly suprised they sold so fast.

Think I will list more tomorrow, only managed 5 listings tonight but the picture taking and descriptions are very time consuming.

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 04/11/2012 12:02

Huh, partly used perfume/arftershave. Good seller! At 4.75 for a tiny bottle and still ages to go until the listing ends!

Tortoise · 04/11/2012 13:00

Mass sort out of understairs cupboard today to find toys to list!
DDs are getting rid of hello kitty toys, zhu zhu sets and hamsters and a huge bundle of littlest pet shop stuff.
Also would like to finally get ps2 listed but all the games need testing! At least 50 of them!
This lot is going to keep me busy today.

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 04/11/2012 13:31

Having never had anyone ask if I would post abroad, 4 different people asked if I would post one item to different places in Eastern Europe. Is that really odd?

I will kick myself if it doesn't go for much having said no to 4 different bidders though.

Dingle · 04/11/2012 13:36

I have just listed a few children's coats by Next, and a girl's Spurs duffle coat.......but I have nowhere near even started. I am not really expecting much interest, despite only asking 99p, I have charged £2.50 or £3 for P&P. Does that sound fair enough to you please?

Still got loads to list! Not sure where to start.Confused

StillThinkingOfANickname · 04/11/2012 14:09

I have got one more set to list tonight, I listed 3 massive lots last night and they all sold by this morning and were picked up. My seller fees are stacking up though so I am going to hold off from listing anything else to next weekend.

Dingle - £2.50 for postage sounds about right for a coat. Although postage seems to vary from between £2 & £4. Next stuff sells pretty well on Ebay I thought? It had whenever I have listed / bought clothes.

BreakOutTheKaraoke · 04/11/2012 17:42

Come on everybody, not long to go now! 31 More items listed last night, photographed them all this morning, and lots of shoes to list tonight...the thrills of ebay!

lljkk · 04/11/2012 19:44

I've got 101 items listed :). Of which perhaps:
10 for other people
30 x 99p items
only max. 20 will sell.

Buyer pestering me about what courier to use on one item. Trying to patiently explain what the best is I can do.

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 04/11/2012 20:27

www.ebay.co.uk/sch/rstubbs101/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25&_trksid=p3686 21 today, mostly toddler/baby shoes and stocking filler type stuff.

I had to cancel a transaction last week entirely my own fault and I said so to the buyer, and the buyer has been so sweet and lovely about it - I had a look since it was mentioned you can give feedback on cancelled items and gave her a positive. So thanks for mentioning that!

My best sales of the day are 5.50 for a basic baby monitor (thought it would be a 99p-er) and the part used Molton Brown eau du toilette (6.51!)

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 04/11/2012 21:30

I've got 15 things listed.

Would really love them all to sell - we'll see!

MrsKwazii · 04/11/2012 21:35

Right, 12 more things listed tonight. I seem to be getting quicker now that I'm more confident about postage costs. Don't like to list too much at once though as otherwise it's a total panic when I need to pack and post out!

MyHermes are taking 25% off all parcel costs through their parcel shop pick-ups, which makes them v good value. You do need to have one of the shops near to you though of course. I've used them a few times now and have been happy with them.

Tortoise · 04/11/2012 22:31

Ive got 80 something items listed.
Some of those are re-lists.
36 ish listed today.
Hope lots sell! Dreading any questions, it's all back in the cupboard behind boxes of my business account items!

lljkk · 05/11/2012 07:44

Very nice pictures TeWi, except the Indiana Jones one, could you rotate it?

PurpleFrog · 05/11/2012 08:41

Well, despite my best intentions I only managed to list 6 new items and put up 6 re-lists. I have no idea how some of you manage to list 80 items far less 101!

Dingle · 05/11/2012 10:11

I was feeling quite please that I had listed 18! Wink

Washed two more coats this morning and found a pair of cowboy boots DD hardly wore before she grew out of them. I will try to take pics while the sun is out and list a few more bits and bobs this evening.

No buyers yet but got a few watchers....fingers crossed. Good luck everyone.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 05/11/2012 11:09

3 watchers so far. I need to stop checking!

I could really do with some big money items! All of mine items (if they sell),will only go for a few £'s each.

All this effort for not a lot of £ is a bit disheartening but still, it's better than giving it away.

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 05/11/2012 14:35

It is a bit. Last week I sold 7 items for a total of £15 which was disheartening, this week I made about £40 for 10 items which feels much better! - it all adds up though.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 05/11/2012 16:45

I've just looked again Blush. Nothing's changed!

Though I looked at how many similar items are listed - literally hundreds and hundreds of 3-6 month snowsuits for example. It's hardly surprising that things are getting bought at such low prices. Sad

alemci · 05/11/2012 17:02

I was really fed up last weekend. One of my buyers bid on 2 items and hasn't paid or bothered to contact me. I've never had any problems so it is really disheartening and I've had to open unpaid item cases.

Seller had bad feedback but you wouldn't know 'til they bought your stuff. Just don't understand. Contact me and I will relist.

Sunnywithachanceofshowers · 05/11/2012 17:58

I've yet to sell anything yet, but am aiming to do so soon - can I join?
