I'm getting back into my eBaying, massive clear outs will keep me busy over this free listings weekend, wondered if anyone wanted to join me in making Christmas as cheap as possible and having the good people of eBay pay for most of it!

OP posts:

Right, so I need to charge more in the P&P box than the figure I get from RM?

LineRunner · 21/10/2012 14:21

Business sellers sometimes seem to act like a cartel over total costs. My DD wanted a particular watch and she had a choice between '£1.99, plus £6.99 p&p' or '£8.99 with free p&p', and variations in between.

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 21/10/2012 15:02

I would silvery, I like to add a little extra for bubblewrap, paper etc. Sometimes I have those things already and sometimes I don't so adding an extra 20 or 50p even it out for me.

I'm having trouble with photos again today, will be really cheesed off if I miss a 2nd flw because of this.

SilveryMoon · 21/10/2012 15:07

Or I could stick with the RM prices and add on extra to the item price......
Sorry you're having trouble with photos TeWi
When If my stuff doesn't sell, it just comes off and i can (if I wanted to) re-list it at a later date?

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 21/10/2012 15:10

Yes, there's a handy little re-list button so you don't have to write it all up again.

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 21/10/2012 15:21

Fix this week is to switch to the standard uploader.

Re: my phone, thanks for the idea! Account emails go to DH's acc atm, but I'm sure I could change that though now that I have usurped his eBay account!

ontheedgeofwhatever · 21/10/2012 17:52

oh dear I think a bundle of my maternity clothes are about to go for 99p :( Odd thing is I am sure I put them on for £5 but looks like I made a mistake. Got a horrible feeling its gong to cost me more to post them than I'm charging as well as thought I'd built extra postage into the starting cost.

Oh well. On the bright side a coat I got dd in a charity shop for £3 a couple of years back has a bid of £5 and still a few hours to go so may go up a little if I'm lucky. I suppose it all evens out

At least I'll have some space in the cupboard rather than a huge heap of clothes I'll probably never wear again.

Up to £125.41 profit after fees and packaging materials :)

SilveryMoon · 21/10/2012 19:40

That's a great profit ontheedge
I've got 7 things listed, no watchers or bids yet.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 21/10/2012 19:53

I'm still wavering about whether to list some Columbia fleece all in one suits or hold on a few weeks for the weather to chill off a bit!

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 21/10/2012 20:03

Well I've sold the one thing I listed last week, a massive bit of imperfect furniture for a total profit of £40.81 - it's a very good start!

The stuff I listed today goes up at 9, I think I've missed the point of that trick haven't I? Do I just go on now and untick the scheduled listing box?

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 21/10/2012 20:04

I think it's a good time for coats etc now. I did my hat etc restocking last week.

PurpleFrog · 21/10/2012 20:21

Yes - just revise your item and set it to go live now. You won't be charged the 6p!

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 21/10/2012 21:07

Cheers - well that prompted my quickest ever BIN sale Shock and paid for already.

?90 up now. Grin

It's a good way to end a weekend!

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 21/10/2012 21:27

I've stuck my stuff on and will keep my fingers crossed!

How do they look?

HalleLouja · 21/10/2012 21:43

Just remember the clocks go back next week. So everything will now finish at 7.30 on the Wednesday. Buggeration.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 21/10/2012 21:52

Try again!

Tortoise · 21/10/2012 22:17

My items
31 new listings plus relists from unsold items tonight.
Totally forgot about clock change. Mine will end much earlier than i want them to now. Oh well!
Earlier i sold a pair of BNIB boots that i paid ?26 for a few weeks ago online. They were too small for me and i didn't get round to sending them back.
They sold for ?43!!! Grin

dizzyday07 · 21/10/2012 22:34

Just a couple bits listed this weekend

HalleLouja · 21/10/2012 22:38

Mine are here.

SilveryMoon · 22/10/2012 02:32

dizzy am watching your vtech camera.

lljkk · 22/10/2012 09:06

I notice that some of you haven't mentioned "from a smoke-free household" in your listings. Would be worth stating if true.

lljkk · 22/10/2012 09:06

Oh, and possibly pet-free status too, if applicable.

Tortoise · 22/10/2012 10:26

I always state smoke free home.
Not pet free though, i have 2 dogs.
Starting to get the odd watcher on bits.

On my business account i have 46 watchers on a per una down coat!

SilveryMoon · 22/10/2012 10:55

I'm a smoker and have 2 cats. On the clothes j have stated that they'll be washed prior to dispatch.
