I'm getting back into my eBaying, massive clear outs will keep me busy over this free listings weekend, wondered if anyone wanted to join me in making Christmas as cheap as possible and having the good people of eBay pay for most of it!

OP posts:
IwishIwasmoreorganised · 23/09/2012 22:20

Well I'm off the mark at £24 and one item relisted.

Got some great fleecy baby suits to list and then I'll need to start thinking about some toys in the run up to Christmas.

BabylonPI · 23/09/2012 22:28

Woop woop!!!

£112 for a tent tonight
£30.90 for a yummy mummy changing bag
£38.75 for a mobile phone signal booster thingy (DHs gadgetry !)

Photos taken today and another 88 listings ready to be put on over the next week or so Grin

I'm thinking that if I can do 10-15 listings a day, it's not eating into my time as such as I can sit and do listings while BFing DS -instead of nosing about on MN--

Double bonus GrinGrin

Christmas just got a bit more sparkly!!!

BabylonPI · 23/09/2012 22:28

Oops strikeout fail Blush

Mirage · 24/09/2012 14:31

I've listed a few more bits this morning,I'm not optimistic that they'll do very well or even sell at all,but who knows? Ebay can be very surprising sometimes.

PurpleFrog · 24/09/2012 16:15

I only managed 8 listings at the weekend, and only 3 of these were new.....

Despite my plans to concentrate on sorting-out large items to release space, I didn't stick to that, so will be lucky to gain the volume of a shoe box if all 8 items sell! Blush One of my re-lists was due to my first ever never-paying-buyer. I have had buyers who have mucked me around before, with all sorts of excuses, but have paid eventually; but this was the first one that didn't contact me and didn't pay at all. Sad

I really need to make a list of what needs to go next, and what needs to be found or done to it before it can be listed, and actually get it done before another FLW appears. Sigh!

LaVitaBellissima · 24/09/2012 20:01

First item sold! Sold my old Sky HD box for £31!

Right have a pile of clothes to iron, photograph and list tomorrow, I'm feeling motivated now!!

I really want to de clutter the house, get rid of all my old clothes and buy lots of new ones! and feel more organised!

HiccupHaddockHorrendous · 24/09/2012 21:36

Yay! Well done!

It's a good motivator isn't it Grin. I just brought down a bag of stuff to photograph but thinking I should pack up tonight's sold items first.

I'm up to £453 tonight GrinGrin

Mirage · 24/09/2012 21:50

I've had an email about 100 free listings between now and Oct.A friend had the same email last month. Is this a general thing or do you have to 'qualify' in some way to get it?

I think you normally get 100 free 99p auction listings a month.

DSRs are Detailed Star Ratings - if you go to your feedbacks they are the stars that are there as well. You have to try to keep them as highly scored as poss.

Bongaloo · 24/09/2012 22:54

I put a bundle of baby clothes on at £3 and was chuffed to bits it went up to £6.50 - it went for nearly £20 in the end Shock
I've not got any feedback from it yet, and I've a suspicion the buyer might feel conned or something.
It's not my fault the bidding went so high.
How did your cosytoes do Hiccup?

And sold a CK bag earlier (there was a time CK meant Calvin Klein) - I'm on £125 (brilliant)

It's taught me that it is worth having nice things too. Especially when you can get some money back when you sell them on later. I'll probably get all precious about belongings keeping their condition and seeing stuff as money.

BabylonPI · 24/09/2012 23:22

Another 13 listings gone live here, so only 75 to go Confused

I'm doing a few at a time now Grin

Every time something gets a bid, I think of my DCs faces on Christmas morning GrinGrin

lljkk · 25/09/2012 09:22

Cosytoes sell, really? I've got 3 I'm trying but failing to give away .

I'll probably get all precious about belongings keeping their condition and seeing stuff as money.

I struggle with that on a few things. But they are usually the stupidly expensive items, anyway.

really need to make a list of what needs to go next, and what needs to be found or done to it before it can be listed, and actually get it done before another FLW appears.

Soon as I find something I might list I take nice pictures of it & try to get a listing up (without picture) but with rough text & numbers inserted. Schedule for 3 weeks hence. Then I craft the listing over the following weeks, until a FLW is announced, then I finalise & schedule it to go live at what I think is a good time (Saturday eve 7 day or Sunday eves for 5 days). No way I could get 40+ new listings up with the short notice we get for FLWs otherwise. About 30 of mine were relists, otherwise, they are much faster to get up again, although I was price-slashing on many, that took some thought :).

lljkk · 25/09/2012 09:44

Grrr.... got my first ever non positive feedback. guess I should be grateful it's only a neutral.

Item arrived broken, I refunded soon as he sent a pic to show the damage (non-fragile item, packaging seemed intact, no idea how it got so broken, I didn't even ask for it to be returned) & he's claiming it was sold "Not As Described!" This after he agreed to cancel the transaction, so apparently F/Back can be left even if a transaction is cancelled (new change?). I found a rant about this problem (for buyers) on Ebay.

Fecker.

Google for "My Ebay Feedback Forum", btw, if you ever want to reply to f/back. Took me a while to find the right link.

HiccupHaddockHorrendous · 25/09/2012 09:56

Sold three cosytoes last night for £60!

One was a buggysnuggle that has marks on it. I paid £6 for it last year but never used it. One was sheepskin lined that came with a secondhand buggy I bought off eBay ages ago. The third was a split-leg basic cosytoes. I bought it new but it was only used a couple of times.

I'm really pleased but slightly Blush that I had three spare cosytoes Grin. I still have three more that I use!

OK, are you sure you have listed at .99p? Not accidentally at £9.9 or £99?

No extra photos? Listing to start immediately? No Buy It Now (BIN) or Reserve?

What categories are you selling in?

Weird.

FannyFifer · 25/09/2012 23:31

I have been selling as well the last couple of weeks, Xmas fund at £120.

That was all baby clothes, lot of new with tags stuff.

Have a couple of cosy toes to go up, one of those gro clocks, some shoes & a few more items of clothing. Grin

Bongaloo · 26/09/2012 10:31

Ohhelpohnoitsa, I've had a couple that were trying to charge me for 'picture pack' which I didn't want and it was a pain to see how to get rid of it.

When do we get invoiced by Ebay then?
And do Paypal do an invoice too?

PurpleFrog · 26/09/2012 11:03

You get invoiced by Ebay for each calendar month. You will receive an eBay message and e-mail on approx the 5th day of the next month. You can see how much you already owe in the Account tab of your eBay Summary. Paypal, on the other hand, take their fees as you are paid.

Tortoise · 26/09/2012 13:05

Ohhelpohno Most likely picture pack. I hate it when that happens because I can't find a way to sort it on ebay mobile.

To get rid of it I clicked on 'switch to a form with more choices' at the top of the screen, I removed the pic I had put on and clicked to 'add picture' and added my picture again then a pop up came with options and I unticked the 'picture pack' option.

I'm on a laptop though.
And there must be a better way of doing it.

Tortoise · 27/09/2012 23:18

Is it still a little early to list Halloween costumes?
Not much interested in my re-listed items. Not going well on Ebay again at the moment.
