I'm getting back into my eBaying, massive clear outs will keep me busy over this free listings weekend, wondered if anyone wanted to join me in making Christmas as cheap as possible and having the good people of eBay pay for most of it!

Definitely not too early for costumes, It may be too late in 2 weeks :).

mygirllollipop · 28/09/2012 13:01

I was listing tons of stuff on my mobile and one listing randomly added picture pack (a book amongst loads of other book listings). I queried it with eBay and they took it off my fees as a goodwill gesture but advised me to basically check what I'm adding/clicking, but there's not even an option on mobile (that I can see) to uncheck the picture pack box, or even put it on in the first place!
Then they sent a feedback questionnaire moohaha.

Thanks tortoise

I'd forgotten about the pumpkin costumes I was going to list!

Tortoise · 28/09/2012 21:48

I've got 2 pumpkin outfits, a vampire and a Disney store Pooh bear dressed as a pumpkin outfit!!

BlueberryHill · 29/09/2012 14:27

Thought I'd hit the £95 mark, yessss.

Until I realised that £50 of it is for a cash on collection item that has been purchased by someone 250 / 300 miles away.

I'm going to give them 24 hours and then ask when they are coming up to Cumbria to collect it. If we then agree to cancel it, do I get my fees back and can go to either relist or second chance offer? Advice wanted please, I'm not going down the courier route.

lljkk · 29/09/2012 15:40

I had a bloke drive 300 miles roundtrip to collect a bicycle. Not that great a bike, either, false economy or what? Confused

Yes you get fees back if the transactionis cancelled, but I'm not sure about the other things you asked (sorry).

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 29/09/2012 18:27

Yes Blueberry. If the sale is cancelled ands you both agree to it then younget all fees reimbursed and can relist.

They may well come and get it, a friend of mine did an 8 hour round trip to get a canoe that he'd got on eBay!

dizzyday07 · 29/09/2012 22:32

I have made £8 today! DD has a witches dress she has grown out of so maybe I'll pop that on.

McPhee · 29/09/2012 22:56

Total up to £45 at the moment

Maternity stuff seems to be in high demand. Especially size 16/18.....just as well I'm a podge Grin

I've got a couple of iPhone facias and some cds to go on tomorrow.

BlueberryHill · 30/09/2012 10:46

Thanks lijkk and I wishIwas, its good to know. I think he / she would spend more on petrol than they would save buying this but you never know.

Bongaloo · 30/09/2012 13:06

I'm on just over £150
I'm amazed. I could actually get £300 by xmas.
It's like getting the DCs xmas pressies for free! ...and I saw on here that Argos take paypal.

I'm also amazed at what people will pay for stuff.

I think I'm going to have to do a bit of jiggery pokery with my listings this week and bundle together some items that haven't sold and rephotograph them.

EmptyCrispPackets · 30/09/2012 14:13

I've done over £300 in sales. Really pleased but wish I hadn't spent it already Hmm

Have had some hard weeks financially. I'm back to listing again and won't spend any now. Promise.

I'm up to £525 with tonight's sales but that might be about to go down by £260 after one of my buyers has complained about their item Sad.

This morning, I spent a couple of hours sorting out the dumping room. I have gathered a huge pile of stuff to list but am thinking of listing it BIN at fairly low prices just to clear some space. It might also reduce the packing/posting frenzy that usually occurs when a dozen auctions all end at the same time.

BeaWheesht · 30/09/2012 22:38

Oh dear hiccup hope you don't have to refund.

Have made 89 so far with two more things listed. I can only list one more thing apparently though. Sad I don't know when that restriction ends

HiccupHaddockHorrendous · 30/09/2012 22:54

Me too! They're both quite big items and it was a relief to get them out of the house even though I got quite a bit less than I'd have liked.

Will you get a new allocation tomorrow (start of a new month)? I think I've heard others say that you can ask eBay to lift the restriction so that might be worth a try.

BabylonPI · 30/09/2012 22:56

I've just had a mega session listing stuff and now have 59 active listings, with already 9 items having bids GrinGrin

If you use the iPhone app to list stuff, make sure you've updated recently - soooooo much quicker to list stuff Grin

SNOWBall4girlz · 01/10/2012 11:38

Hey there ladies, waves to tortoise you reminded me to dig out my halloween stuff :)
Will need to get it on this week as it is only a small amount of time that people will buy.
Sold three items over weekend got about 30 still running mostly lazy relists :( but need to get cracking if going to make any real money for xmas :)

I have a Jo Jingles doll which has a few bidders and a pair of clarks boots which i though would go for more than the starting price plus another tip from this thread some perfume never used that has abid on it too!!!!
just a few bits
Dont think there will be a free listing weekend for another week though.

SNOWBall4girlz · 01/10/2012 11:41

Oh hiccup hate it when that happens :( I only sell inexpensive stuff and still get complaints everyone seems to want it for nothing nowadays.

HiccupHaddockHorrendous · 01/10/2012 12:03

Still no word from the buyer though so she's either just going to send it without contacting me or she's decided to keep it afterall. It's a bit of a pain waiting to find out though.

After reading Babylon's post, I went off to list a few things. Only 9 and did them on BIN only. Really hope some of them sell as the listing fee was 40p each! I don't think I'll be making it a regular thing!

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 01/10/2012 13:39

Quick question - do you all think that it's worth listing baby snow suits now, or would I be better hanging on a few weeks?

lljkk · 01/10/2012 13:46

Wait until after 1 November, ime. Mid November even better.

LaVitaBellissima · 01/10/2012 14:18

I've sold the 2 items I listed so have £62.50 so far with another 9 items listed yesterday. Slow but sure I hope, have lots of stuff in the loft too.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 01/10/2012 14:20

Ok, thanks for the advice lljkk

I've just dug them all out of the wardrobe so I might get them ready and schedule them to start mid November and keep my eye out for free listing weekends around them.

I want the space, but don't want to just give them away for pennies!
