I'm getting back into my eBaying, massive clear outs will keep me busy over this free listings weekend, wondered if anyone wanted to join me in making Christmas as cheap as possible and having the good people of eBay pay for most of it!

I don't try to force borderline items to be large letters, but try folding around (cheap wrapping) tissue paper. So paper under item and then fold together. Still looks tidy and stops the package bunching and becoming a parcel.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 17/09/2012 11:23

4 items listed last night.

One's got 6 watchers and 1 bid and another's got 1 bid.

Unfortunately they're both at 99p so I'm not going to be getting rich anytime soon!

MrsKwazii · 17/09/2012 11:40

Had ten items sell last night so am up to £270 Grin Am amazed and eyeing up everything in sight to sell! Am up to my eyeballs in boxes and bubblewrap getting everything ready to send off - my Hermes courier is going to be on my Christmas card list at this rate.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 17/09/2012 11:50

What have you been selling Mrs Kwazii?

I sold loads of baby stuff earlier in the year, are toys worth doing or is it a bit early for Christmas buys yet?

Bongaloo · 17/09/2012 12:15

Oh go on then please tell me. Where can you see completed listings? I've been looking all over.

lljkk · 17/09/2012 12:29

Go to "Advanced search" & it's a box just below the Blue Search button, under a heading that says "Search including". Tick Completed listings only.

My strategy is to list cheaper quality toys at every opportunity between now & mid December, but to save the best quality toys (sure sells, best prices) for listing from 1 November onwards. Research what things have sold for recently & start price (including P+P) about 10% the general minimum.

I am thinking my next lot of listings will be about 60 in total. My head would explode if they all sold (I couldn't keep track). Only expect 6 or so to actually sell, for better or worse. About 10 of those will be for other people (charity sales & for DC).

Bongaloo · 17/09/2012 12:30

Ah ha found it. Thanks anyway.

PurpleFrog · 17/09/2012 12:30

I sold 5 of the 10 items I had finishing yesterday, so am quite pleased. Assuming everyone pays up I am already up to £109, including a Gumtree and Local Paper sale! Smile

I haven't put anything else on at the moment as my next batch of stuff all requires "work" of some kind before it can be listed... and I couldn't face doing any of it yesterday. As my main motivation is de-cluttering I am trying really hard to spend my time sorting-out the stuff that is taking up the most space first!

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 17/09/2012 12:55

I was going to try relisting a few things that didn't sell earlier in the year.

It seems that I need to do the entire listing again because it was more than 60 days ago.

Is that right or is there a sneaky place that I can find my original listings?

Cremolafoam · 17/09/2012 13:27

I am up to £ 149.20
Delighted as nearly half way there and life has been so hectic/ nightmarish

MrsKwazii · 17/09/2012 18:17

Iwish I've been selling unworn shoes (the shame at having never worn them!) and good quality toys from ELC and the like. Selling well so far.

BlueberryHill · 17/09/2012 19:11

I'm on £21, I have a long way to go. But at least its a start, I need to do another batch of listings and try to use the schedule bit that fergoose suggested to add them all in and then reschedule.

SNOWBall4girlz · 17/09/2012 19:27

Well my total is about 37 gbp with 50 items on and only one selling ...thinking of taking it all to the cash for rags ..one buyer took ten days to pay and i posted the next day and never got any feedback :(

SNOWBall4girlz · 17/09/2012 19:30

my stuff :)
Need to edit two items but hgetting very dissillusioned with ebay ....hoping picks up ten weeks to xmas :)

lljkk · 17/09/2012 19:44

Wow, gotta bid on something that I imagine I've listed at least 10 times previously Shock. I've sold several things for spares/not working lately, too. Hope that buyers are realistic!

Does anyone know what happens if you try to sell something norty, like, er, Not Quite New cloth nappies? If Ebay catch you, I mean, do they pull it & that's that or do they go nuts & revoke your account? Are there any penalties for giving it a try?

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 17/09/2012 20:52

Just got keys to our new house, and there's 2 massive wardrobe left behind... more to ebay I guess!
Have to wait until our internet is switched over at the beginning of next month to get going though.

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 17/09/2012 20:53

Lljkk I had all my listings pulled when I tried. Apparently Facebook is the place for baby stuff now.

LineRunner · 17/09/2012 20:55

The Fergoose Reschedule Gambit works a treat. Thanks!

IWish I don't know what happens to listings after 60 days. Have you looked in the thing on the left of your Active screen called 'Archive'?

lljkk I think if you are norty you might get a policy violation 'strike'.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 17/09/2012 21:04

LineRunner. I can't see the archive section that you've mentioned!

Bongaloo · 17/09/2012 21:04

I sold a nappy amongst my listings, they seem to sell quite well.

LineRunner · 17/09/2012 21:14

Where in buggery have I seen it, then? Sorry, IWish, I'll have a look and report back.

Meantime you could always send a message and ask eBay Customer Support (ha ha hollow laugh).

dizzyday07 · 18/09/2012 11:48

I had a whole birth to potty set of nappies pulled 12 hours before listing ended(with lots of watchers too :( ) and got a message off ebay saying I couldn't sell them and it was my first misdemeanour and not to do it again!

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 18/09/2012 13:54

I got really annoyed about the nappies when I listed mine, because it doesn't say anywhere that you can't, it only mentions used underwear. Since it used to be allowed how are people supposed to know?

lljkk · 18/09/2012 13:59

Seems like if you get Five Policy Strikes they wipe your account, does that sound right? What is the procedure & set of penalties for policy violations?

Have tried flogging them here, on Facebook & Gumtree already with no joy. And the worst part is that I don't even know if they are used or not. They seem brand new. Had some joy with local free ads but no interest since.

Will hold off for now. It's not worth the aggro, not until I run out of other things to sell, anyway :).
