I hope you get a good price for it :)

good idea borrowing a shop mannequin.

fergoose · 24/04/2012 14:17

btw mannequin pictures are grand - could you move the full length first mannequin pic to your gallery pic as when searching through list of dresses on eBay that good pic will stand out and make listing look better?

Oblomov · 24/04/2012 14:19

Thanks Goose.

Oblomov · 24/04/2012 14:21

I don't know how to do that. I was abit frightened, that in order to get it first, I would need to delete all my photos. I have 12 of them, in 3 different folders, due to all your advice, of what I was missing, each time. Is there a easy way, to make photo, say number 8 or 9, your main one?

fergoose · 24/04/2012 14:23

Click on revise listing - go to where pictures are and each pic will have arrows and a bin on the bottom of it. Don't click the bin as that will delete, but use arrows to move the good pic you want to use to the far left of the row and then it will become your gallery pic. You can use right and left arrows on each pic to move them to and fro to your heart's delight then.

Oblomov · 24/04/2012 14:29

Thank you. You are a 'wealth' of information. Grin

fergoose · 24/04/2012 14:30

nope not really - years of shameful shopping more like! :)

carrotsandcelery · 24/04/2012 14:50

fergoose is officially the Queen of all things Ebay!

PurpleFrog · 24/04/2012 14:59

Oblomov - that looks so much better! I was also going to suggest changing the picture order, but got interrupted mid-edit and others have beaten me to it!

BTW, for future reference, for a normal auction you can't change your main picture once you have a bid. You can add extra ones, but not change the main one.

fergoose · 24/04/2012 15:00

Thank you Carrots - but no I don't think I am queen, mebbe a very minor princess with google skills - but thank you anyway :)

SomebodySaveMe · 24/04/2012 17:33

Glad you got the dress listing sorted Oblomov

These are my offerings this week
www.ebay.co.uk/sch/piratesparkles/m.html?_trkparms=65%253A12%257C66%253A1%257C39%253A1%257C72%253A6003&rt=nc&_ipg=&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14.l1513&_pgn=1

I have 95 watchers so I'm hoping they start bidding and I should make bronze

Tortoise · 24/04/2012 18:05

Slowly getting bids and watchers. Mainly on mini Boden nighties!
Had an offer of £25 on ps2. Have counter offered £30! Hopefully they accept.
Taken DSs phone off as he's done a straight swap with a friend at school.
Must list more tonight!

SomebodySaveMe · 24/04/2012 18:12

Argghhhh! I had a scuttlebug trike listed as collection only. Someone asked if I would ship it and I said no. They've now won it and have just sent a message asking for my contact number and address to sort out a time next week to collect. They've also paid by PayPal.
Do I have to give them my phone number?

CointreauVersial · 24/04/2012 18:14

Having spectacularly failed to list anything last weekend, I'm going to try to get a load of ten-day listings up on Thursday (so they end the Sunday after). That gives me two days to get my shit together and get off MN

CointreauVersial · 24/04/2012 18:19

SSM - they need your address to pick it up, but no, you don't have to give a phone number, you can communicate by e-mail.

Just a word of warning in case you didn't know, for collection-only items it's best not to accept Paypal. You have no proof of delivery hence will not be covered if the buyer claims "item not received" (the fact that you placed it in his hands personally is not adequate proof for Paypal and they will reverse the payment).

Obviously the majority are honest, but........

weirdscience · 24/04/2012 18:24

I know I am quite late but would I be able to join in? I have quite a few things listed, and hope to get a few things on every nights to stagger the posting! Grin

Mainly girl's clothing, hoping to get enough for some things needed for a school trip and the rest towards a summer holiday. (I have high hopes! Smile)

SomebodySaveMe · 24/04/2012 18:27

No I didn't want PayPal but they paid it before I realised and as I'm still classed as a new seller it's in pending balance.
I think I'll reply with the address but state email contact only. I'm a bit pissed off it won't be collected until next week!

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 24/04/2012 19:59

I relished my 5 things that didn't sell and have made another £1.44 Grin

I need to get up into the loft and launder a load of stuff before my next listing frenzy starts - might get a bit of time next week now that the boys are back at school!

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 24/04/2012 20:00

I meant relisted not relished! (I bought an iPad with my earnings and am not. Up to speed with it yet!)

weirdscience · 24/04/2012 20:04

Well done on getting enough for an Ipad!

I've listed all my stuff for tonight, will add a few every night til I work my way through everything.

Here is what I have on so far!

Tortoise · 24/04/2012 21:37

Got best items listed tonight. Would have been better on free listing because most cost me 15p to list.
T-shirt that I nearly didn't list, has a bid already Shock.
Can't link on phone but if anyone wants a look my name is ozxyandme.

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 24/04/2012 21:48

Tortoise ebay will never cease to amaze me. I have the weirdest collection of stuff listed this week but I am gathering more watchers than I have on weeks when I have listed beautiful things. I have one bid already too. Shock

Tortoise · 24/04/2012 22:07

I think its because there aren't many of these t-shirts listed.
I've sold ps2 for £28, no contact from buyer yet. I sent invoice but they are fairly local so I added on the bottom cash on collection if collecting!

Also sold, stc, Amstrad computer. They want to collect Friday about 6pm. Not doing through ebay. But it is an ebay buyer. Saves fees but I know there is a bit of risk involved. Just need the money too much to turn it down!

OP posts:
Gef · 24/04/2012 22:39

£125 made, fees have to come off that, but still pleased.

Now to pack I haaate packing.

notcitrus · 24/04/2012 23:31

Is it me or can you not see messages or bids/watchers on the smartphone site? DP says someone has offered £40 for a buggy but I can't find any messages or see if others are interested!

Will have to use the PC tomorrow and maybe list some more.
