I do find that a lot of "ordinary" clothing (i.e. not the desirable brands like Boden etc) does tend to sell for the starting price, or not far off it - it is rare that I get more than 2 bids, unless a few people happen to decide they want something. So if I start something at 99p, that's what I expect to get, and it is such a faff for such a small sum I am reluctant to list too much at that price, even if it is free to list.

I've decided to do a few big "summer bundles" to get rid of some of the smaller-sized kids clothes I still have knocking about - I have cherry-picked a lot of the good stuff, but I just want the rest gone, tbh......

Carrots - WTF is a My Meebas?!

carrotsandcelery · 22/04/2012 14:11

My Meebas is an electronic jar with a mini games console on the front of it. As you play the games the console moves further up towards the top. When it reaches the top it pops open and a toy is revealed inside the jar.

Will list baby bjorn carrier and change bag - suspect many get bought off ebay, people realise they are crap and they go straight back!

I put lots of stuff on Freecycle today too, so quite accomplished!

Tortoise · 22/04/2012 21:03

DS2s phone and ipod have been listed.
Now lost the oomph to list my own bits lol. Will do some tomorrow or Tuesday I think.
I need to research gameboy colour games as have a pile of them to sell.

£117 tonight! Woo hoo! I am so chuffed. That is about 4 weeks ebaying in one night for me.

Let's just hope they all pay up!

Has anyone else got listings ending tonight?

I think that makes my total for the challenge about £173 so far!

I HAVE A BRONZE!!! Yay!! Grin

SomebodySaveMe · 22/04/2012 21:11

I'm making £7.89 Smile some end tomorrow, others next Sunday.
Very chuffed with some Polly Pocket (old style) bits I've got for DSDs birthday. I seem to be spending anything I make Blush

CointreauVersial · 22/04/2012 21:13

Well, step aside Carrots - I made a mammoth £151 tonight! Yay for Pippa and her pals!

Top item was a dress and gloves which went for nearly £30. We are talking about a scrap of fabric about 10cm long!! Ten unsold Pippa outfits have been relisted for this week, and I'm hoping a few more might go.

Adding today's total to last week's £72.50 takes me well into Silver.

Up to £70 in total now with my last listed item (a Soap & Glory Vanity Case) already having a bid on with 2 days to go, but as there are 15 watchers hopefully someone else will bid!

Well done newbag.

I have posted all those that were paid for. I am glad, for once, that they didn't all pay on time as I am shattered.

When I went to package one item I discovered a mark that I hadn't mentioned when I listed it. I have contacted the buyer and asked if they want to go ahead or to cancel. It is only £1.99.

I have another message asking if I will sell something I had listed for £3.99 for £1.99. What would you suggest? I am inclined to relist it next free listing and let it take it's chance.

Bitofastate · 23/04/2012 15:41

On about £130 so far, lots of dd dresses were Polly Flinders/Boden etc so went well.

Just listing lots of crime books, historical fiction and ds games. Might get round to dd's baby clothes too, they're all M&P and Monsoon and most never worn (I kept her in babysuits till she was about 1!] Blush Grin

Hello!
Complete newbie here! I'm looking to thin out my wardrobe. Based an the advice here I'm going to revise my photos. Here is my list:
my.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/myebay?cmd=SELLING&pg=1
No watchers yet - is this normal this early on?

SomebodySaveMe · 23/04/2012 20:12

I just made £9 on a book! And I dont want to get my hopes up but I have just listed Dashi from the Octonauts and there is one currently going for £20!

carrotsandcelery · 23/04/2012 20:34

GeekLove ( I love that book) I can't see your listings when I use that link.

No watchers is normal early on. It usually builds up over the week. Some weeks are better than others though.

Good luck SSM!

Tortoise · 23/04/2012 22:03

I was hoping to list a few items tonight but took too long packaging and printing postage for sold items!

Got a lovely pair of bnwt next jeans size 26R in charity shop today. Do you think best to list as men's or boys? RRP £35!

OP posts:
nsjuly · 23/04/2012 22:12

Well a week into my selling spree I have reached £49 gross, delighted with that although have sold some lovely clothes for half nothing. However, better the cash in my pocket than the attic I guess! I have 7 more items listed for this week with bids on all but one of them. I will put up more for sale later in the week too. Do you think I'm putting them on to cheaply at 99p starting for two mini Boden long sleeved tops, for example? I have two sets of them though and they have only 3 and 4 watchers respectively. There are 6 days still to go on those auctions though so early days yet.

SomebodySaveMe · 23/04/2012 22:13

I put everything at 99p start. It'd only be thrown out if I didn't eBay it. I always think asking too much will make me look greedy and people won't bid!

nsjuly · 23/04/2012 22:25

I agree, I'm afraid of putting people off too! However I think I'll put good stuff starting at 4.99 anymore. I don't think that is too much to ask for a child's jacket in excellent condition. I'd pay it for the likes of Monsoon, Benetton, Mini Boden etc anyway. This is my stuff for sale at them moment, what do you think?

carrotsandcelery · 23/04/2012 22:27

I do the opposite. I make my basic price the minimum I would be happy to sell an item for. I do have to relist things but I got fed up selling beautiful things for 99p. It has massively improved my profits. I don't get loads and loads of bids but I didn't before either so things went from 99p to 1.44 and now they go from 3.99 to 6.49 and things like that.
