Post your listings and questions here. The purpose is to raise money for Christmas and I'll start by showing my (so far) meagre listings here

Here I am again with yet another question. I am trying to refund the extra 60p postage that I didn't need on an item. The problem is I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do it - yet again Blush

Can anyone give me an idiot's guide please?

notcitrus Hurrah! on the futon. Hide the cash now for something special so it doesn't get lost in the general, day to day, constant spending. Grin

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 17/10/2011 18:01

notcitrus - in theory yes that's correct, but that depends on how they open/record the case that they open - if they opened a case for 'not as described' then that puts the seller at fault and you should morally return the P&P costs for returning and ebay would find in the buyers favour. I think a 2nd message mentioning checking security markings and refunding only when you have the 'original' sent phone in your possession is the way to go for now.

Fergoose is really good at this stuff - hopefully she'll come on to add her thoughts.

Carrots - go into your Paypal account and find the original payment - I do a CTRL + F (find) for the total amount paid if it's on the first page - next to the payment details should be a drop down or the option to issue refund - click on that and then change the amount to the amount you want to refund, add a message to buyer to say this is a partial refund of P&P and that's pretty much it! Let me know if you're still stuck after trying that :)

I agree. notcitrus - generally I think not as described seller should pay return postage costs - but if it is buyers remorse then they should pay for return postage. Mind you morally or otherwise, a buyer cannot force the return postage costs from a seller, but the threat of horrid feedback and trashed stars is always there.

Carrots - log into paypal.co.uk - find the transaction for the item and click on details. Then scrolling down you hit the refund button, there you can enter in 60p to refund the buyer. You can only refund this way if your paypal has enough credit balance to cover your refund though.

Carrotsandcelery · 17/10/2011 18:08

Thanks once again Dino Smile I will go and have a go.

Carrotsandcelery · 17/10/2011 18:28

Thank you both. That worked a treat. Buyer refunded and conscience shiney again Grin

I have been looking at this thread for weeks! With my son telling me there is only 69 sleeps till christmas I thought I should start clearing out making way for the new stuff at christmas. Spent my 3 hours today digging out stuff and taking photos ready to list. Here is my stuff I did last night... www.ebay.co.uk/sch/louisa.nippress/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

Got a lot more to put up including my silver cross 3d, a pliko, jumperoo and other mountains of toys plus lots of clothes eeekkk really hope I can do the £350!

Mousey84 · 17/10/2011 20:10

DINO did you know you have some things in duplicate? The cosy coupe and a hand cream. Maybe completely intentional but didnt want to not say

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 17/10/2011 20:38

Mousey - are you sure?! I can only see 1 car and no hand cream as it has just ended. Can anyone else look at my active listings and tell me how many Little Tikes cozy coupe cars you can see please HERE 20 active listings when I posted this.

OP posts:
Carrotsandcelery · 17/10/2011 20:45

Dino on my laptop there is just one car and no handcream. There is a body lotion though.

Mousey84 · 17/10/2011 20:57

Agh! Bit creepy - I still have orig window open and there are two hugo boss shirts, 2 body lotions and 2 cosy coupes....but now your link only shows one of each

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 17/10/2011 20:58

Carrots - Thanks - you've got the same as me then, phew!

Mousey - I wonder if you've got a weird cache thingy going on :)

lol, wish I could screen dump here. Must have been an ebay glitch.. v odd esp as the cars were posted a minute apart according to the orig screen I had!

Millie1 · 17/10/2011 21:30

Thanks guys for advice re packaging and summer stuff. Will plan an easy dinner for tomorrow night so I can use my two hours in the morning taking pics. Did I read somewhere further up the thread that the mobile app makes listing items much faster? If so, do I just download and go for it?

One more proper question though ... I'm going to relist my Easywalker double buggy for courier delivery so I'm going to need lots of bubble wrap. Large or small bubbles? Small would be more practical for other items but would it be okay for the buggy weight? Any experts?!

Tortoise · 17/10/2011 22:14

Millie I use Ebay app for Android and find it very quick and easy to use. I can take the photos on my phone and upload straight from phone. Only downside I find is that there doesn't seem to be a postage calculator so have to estimate or look it up.

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 17/10/2011 23:14

Millie - I'm by no means an expert on packing buggies as I've only sent 2 by courier and both times used small bubble wrap just because that's what we had. I covered the metal parts in thin packing foam, then bubble wrap and then wrapped in tough packing polythene. HTH

Woo Hoo! I have sold another wii game - finally! Now to list another. Ebay will only let me list 5 at a time. Grin

Carrotsandcelery · 18/10/2011 11:14

Gah! Ebay is being a meany and won't let me list any more wii games until I prove myself. It doesn't help that lots of people are not leaving feedback.

Millie1 · 18/10/2011 14:47

Thanks Tortoise and Dino. Have uploaded the app and it's fab except ..... Each tine I try to use one of my photos I get a message saying the image size is too big and to use a smaller one. Grrrr. Have no idea how to do that! Any techies around?

Carrots - well done on the sale and what a PITA re the Wii games.

CristinaaarghdellAaarghPizza · 18/10/2011 17:45

How do you 'prove' yourself C&c? Confused

I have two more dull as ditchwater Qs for you lovely ebayers:

  1. I have now sent everything bar one thing. Do I leave feedback now or wait to see if they kick up a fuss about anything? I'm slightly wary after a v bad experience several years ago
  1. One of the buyers hasn't paid yet and the auction closed Sunday night. What's an acceptable time to wait before hassling?
fergoose · 18/10/2011 17:50

is up to you when you leave feedback. i leave it once dispatched, there is no point withholding it incase there are problems, as you can't leave negs anyway, and it all seems a bit tit for tat anyway.

If the buyer doesn't pay by day 4 open a non payer dispute, then if by day 7 they haven't paid, close it, get your fees back and relist.
