Post your listings and questions here. The purpose is to raise money for Christmas and I'll start by showing my (so far) meagre listings here

Thanks Halle I usually schedule for 8.30 til 9 so that should work ok.

I need help again please. I am having a slight problem with one of my listings.

Someone has messaged me and asked postage to New Zealand which I worked out to be £3.50. I messaged her to say this but she cannot bid. She has asked me to ammend my listing so that she can bid but it won't let me.

There is one bid on the item already so I am wondering if I cannot ammend the listing now that there is a bid Sad It is only a long sleeved t shirt but for some reason it seems to be getting lots of attention. Is there anything I can do?

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 16/10/2011 10:39

Carrots - you can change the countries which you accept bidders from but the simplest thing to do if you really only want to accept her bids is to add her username to your accepted bidders list then she can bid on any of your items regardless of her country. I did this for a lady in the US (friend of MIL) who regularly buys from us and it's worked well without accepting bids from everyone in the US.

And I've just checked on one of my auctions with a bid and you can still edit your 'excluded locations' settings if you'd rather do that.

fergoose · 16/10/2011 11:00

you must have your account settings stopping international bidders - you can change them still now.

Carrotsandcelery · 16/10/2011 11:16

I am struggling with this. My listing says, "No international postage" and it has no blue writing in it allowing me to change it. Is there a trick for doing this?

Dino where is my accepted bidders list? I cannot find this either [useless emoticon]

When I go to the postage options it only allows postage within the UK options.

Help!!

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 16/10/2011 11:34

If I look at one of my auctions under the section 'Give buyers P&P details' near the bottom of that section and above where it says 'item location' I have the following:

Exclude postage locations Exclude shipping locations help

Excluded locations: Africa, Asia, Central America and Caribbean, Europe, Middle East, North America, Oceania, Southeast Asia, South America

Edit exclusion list

For accepted bidders list I do this:

Go to My Ebay home page - has the summary etc. on it, under Alerts and To Dos - I have the option to Block Bidders - I click on this link and then get to Buyer/Bidder Management and at the bottom of that section is 'Buyer Requirements Exemption List' and right under that is a link for 'Add a buyer to my Buyer Requirement Exemption List' - click on that and add the bidders username and she will be exempt form any exclusions you have specified on any of your auctions.

Does that help?

You are so patient with me. I really appreciate the help. Smile I will go and try that now.

Carrotsandcelery · 16/10/2011 12:33

Woo hoo! She has now been able to bid! Hurrah!

I have a new problem now though Blush

I have been listing all morning, scheduling things to start tonight.

I have been merrily adding extra photos for free and suddenly, on the next item (still children's clothing) they are charging 12p for extra photos. It is sportswear I am listing now but just Next sportswear.

Is it because it is sportswear that the photos cost more or does anyone know why they suddenly cost more?

Sorry for all the support needed today Blush

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 16/10/2011 12:53

I shall take a look, back in a bit.

OP posts:
DinosaursHateUnderpants · 16/10/2011 12:55

I've started a new auction under Clothing > Boys' Clothing > Sportswear and it say all 12 pictures are free?

OP posts:
DinosaursHateUnderpants · 16/10/2011 12:58

Pleased to hear your bidder can bid now - which way did you choose to do it in the end - I always opt for adding to my accepted bidders as it least it doesn't open it up.

Thanks Dino Thanks you have exceptional patience.

I went back to the listing and the photos were suddenly free. I then went to list another pair of tracksuit bottoms and the 12p fee was there again. I think ebay is having a laugh with me Hmm

To allow the New Zealander to bid I eventually found and clicked a button that said something like "allow international bids" or something like that. I don't think I could find it again if I tried though. Ebay is like a labyrinth. Sometime I wonder if they want to make any money out of me. Confused

I back off to see if it will let me upload photos for free now.

Tortoise · 16/10/2011 17:03

Full of cold and feeling crap but taken photos of girls clothes ready to list. Just need to get on and do it!

JarethTheGoblinKing · 16/10/2011 20:05

Bloody hell - £10.25 for a knackered old Radiohead top

Grin
JarethTheGoblinKing · 16/10/2011 20:34
Shock

Made over £70! Amazed.. it was just a pile of clothes destined for landfill Grin

Carrotsandcelery · 16/10/2011 20:59

I only made about £16 but then I only sold 5 things. Bizarrely today the Next items sold for more than the mini boden one Hmm

How do some people end up with 42 watchers and I think I am doing well with 7 or so? Am I missing something?

CristinaaarghdellAaarghPizza · 16/10/2011 21:27

OMG I've made over £100 Shock (although not worked out the ebay fees yet). Am stunned.

And very glad you got the DV t-shirt Jareth Wink (not domestic violence in case anyone is worried :o)

HalleLouja · 16/10/2011 21:37

Well done Jareth and Cristina.

My next dresses didn't sell and they were really nice. Oh well. I have listed some lovely boots that I wasn't great at walking in, a maternity evening dress and some other stuff which I can't remember... Let's see what happens. I had to relist lots but the things which are newly listed seem to have a few watchers already.

Fingers crossed everyone.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 16/10/2011 21:38

Me too Grin
DS is going to love it!

No rush to post it out BTW, won't be at work to collect it until next week :)

HalleLouja · 16/10/2011 21:38

Ohhhh 4 people watching my moses basket which I only listed last night. Hopefully it will be more exciting than this week.

CristinaaarghdellAaarghPizza · 16/10/2011 21:42

Oh okay :) Thanks for letting me know although I suspect I will parcel everything up and post it all at once in the next few days

Carrotsandcelery · 16/10/2011 21:45

I have absolutely loads listed for next Sunday night now. I have relisted everything that didn't sell and listed everything in the box of outgrown clothes.

Does anyone know anything about the make Turbulence? I am selling a jacket that was given to ds but which is just never going to suit him (it was given by a friend after I gave her boxes and boxes of clothes for her dd so I don't feel bad about selling it). I have listed it at £2.99 but have seen many listed at much higher prices.

Tortoise · 16/10/2011 22:03

I have about 67 items listed Shock.
Some are relists.
Listed girls clothes 4-5, 6-7 and 7-8.
Still have a bag of age 5-6 to list. Might do them at 99p in the week to still end Sunday!
Let's keep our fingers crossed that we all get lots of bids!

Carrotsandcelery · 16/10/2011 22:08

Tortoise you must have emptied a whole room Shock

Could you list them to end tomorrow night? I have found Monday night quite lucrative.

I keep thinking I have got to the end of what I can list and then find a whole load more. My house doesn't seem any emptier yet though, Hmm

Must try harder!
