Raise £350 for Christmas - the new eBay challenge

Post your listings and questions here. The purpose is to raise money for Christmas and I'll start by showing my (so far) meagre listings here

OP posts:
mogs0 · 15/10/2011 17:21

Are they similar in style? Could you set them to different auction lengths? Eventhough I'm too impatient for 10 day listing, I have chosen that length on free listing day incase ebay is overwhelmed with similar items all ending at 9pm on a Sunday (if I'd chosen a 7day listing).

Out of interest, what size are they?

I have a gorgeous Hawaiian shirt that was ds' but it's a Summer shirt so I've left it too late (I'm kinda glad I get to look at it a bit longer Grin).

mogs0 · 15/10/2011 17:24

I've just checked my list of scheduled items and there are only 6. It's taken me 2 hours to list 6 items Shock.

I suppose it'd help if I wasn't constantly popping onto MN Grin.

Right, I'm off to do something useful!

Carrotsandcelery · 15/10/2011 17:37

Thanks mogs - I have scheduled 3 of them to start tomorrow evening as I realised that one was age 4 - 5 and one was age 5 - 6 and the other 4 - 5 was a totally different style. I thought I was safe enough starting all of them tomorrow. There is one more but it is the same size and very similar to one I am listing so I will hold back with it as it needs washed and ironed first anyway.

mogs I will pm you my used id if you are interested - there is a monster print one, a bug print one and a collarless striped one.

All of this has also reminded me of a lovely Monsoon tank top hanging in his wardrobe which can't possibly fit him. I will have to persuade him to try it on for me. Grin

CristinaaarghdellAaarghPizza · 15/10/2011 17:49

Gosh that didn't even occur to me C&c. My shirts have no bids at all and only one watcher (I have seven shirts on - two bundles and one on its own) so I don't think I'm doing it right :o

mogs0 · 15/10/2011 17:58

Yes please, carrots.

Carrotsandcelery · 15/10/2011 18:17

I think I have messaged you mogs. Is that a zero on the end of your name?

lljkk · 15/10/2011 18:17

Jareth dunno about your jeans but that spider costume is terrific! Can't believe it's still got no bids on it.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 15/10/2011 18:36

Thanks lljkk :)

I'm hoping it will do the last minute thing, because if I don't sell it this week it'll have to wait another year

Bet some bugger gets it for 1.04

CristinaaarghdellAaarghPizza · 15/10/2011 18:48

God ebay is weird. I have two winter kids coats on - one PO.P and one Boden. The Boden one is still current season and is currently at 2.99. The PO.P one is now up to 33.50 Shock

mogs0 · 15/10/2011 18:54

What's PO.P?

mogs0 · 15/10/2011 18:54

and, yes, ebay is very weird!!

CristinaaarghdellAaarghPizza · 15/10/2011 19:21

It's a Swedish kids clothing company. They only have a few shops in the UK and never used to do online sales so I could have understood that they would have fetched high prices in the past. But now you can buy online so it's really odd. I don't think they make that style any more so perhaps it's a very sought after one. Bloody odd but I'm not complaining!

Carrotsandcelery · 15/10/2011 19:27

It does still sound more unusual than Boden Cristina - maybe people don't realise you can get it online now.

But ebay is weird - there is no doubt about that. Confused

JarethTheGoblinKing · 15/10/2011 20:45

Ok, so who finally bid on the spider costume Grin

mogs0 · 15/10/2011 20:48

I had to just check it wasn't me! It's very cute and I was very tempted but it's far too small for my dsSad did consider trying to squeeze him in it anyway.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 15/10/2011 20:50

How tall is your DS? Mine is 104 and it fits him, he just doesn't like it

mogs0 · 15/10/2011 20:59

He's 140cm and aged 9 Grin so even if I could physically squeeze him in it, he'd refuse point blank on the basis that he's 9. I just can't accept that my baby is growing up - although, selling off his baby clothes and outgrown toys is quite good fun Grin!!

mogs0 · 15/10/2011 21:22

Here are my latest listings. I still can't believe it took so long to get them done Hmm. I will be trying much harder tomorrow - aswell as emptying ds' bedroom and ripping up the old carpet. Oh, I can't wait!!

Carrotsandcelery · 15/10/2011 22:09

mogs you have so much beautiful stuff Shock I want the coat stand, the rocket organiser and the Orla Keilly bag. Sadly I can't really afford any of them Sad. I hope you make loads and loads of money.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 15/10/2011 22:18

Hahaha, yes. OK.. though it could be amusing squeezing him into it Grin

[terrified that 3yo DS will one day be a huge 9yo. eek!]

mogs0 · 15/10/2011 22:31

Carrots - Blush thanks! I am a shocking hoarder and bargain hunter (except when it comes to handbags and seem to be able to spend obscene amounts of money when I really don't need to - hence why the o.k. bag is on there).

Jareth - I'm hoping I can still force persuade him to wear a Christmas jumper this year. He's had some formers over the years but I had to seriously tone it down last year and the year before. I'm going to have to start buying myself one soon as I really don't think he'll humour me much longer!

Your ds will still be a baby in your eyes, just like mine - just remember that Halloween spider costumes will still look cute on them but they definitely won't thank you for it!

Seabright · 15/10/2011 23:50

Doing the scheduled listing trick ready for tomorrow. Plan to start them off half-way through Countryfile, so they don't clash with Downton Abbey & Spooks finale (hoping Harry & Ruth live happily ever after)

Carrotsandcelery · 15/10/2011 23:53

What time is that Seabright? I don't watch tv really. Blush

HalleLouja · 16/10/2011 09:32

Right this thread has inspired me have now got lots on here.

Whoever said its the things you don't expect to make money that do - was right. I have these Gap sleepsuits here with ties that are on for £5.50 and don't finish til later today. Thought the Next dresses might have had a few watchers but am wrong. If I need to relist I will take some pics in the kitchen where the floor is lighter.

HalleLouja · 16/10/2011 09:37

Spooks and Downtown are on 9 to 10 next Sunday. Maybe worth scheduling to finish 8.30 ish. Not sure what to recommend.

[Sobs at the thought that Spooks is ending]
