Post your listings and questions here. The purpose is to raise money for Christmas and I'll start by showing my (so far) meagre listings here

mogs0 · 03/10/2011 08:42

Aw, will do! If you want it, I can wait until thurs for payment.

ClaimedByMe · 03/10/2011 09:56

I have managed to add my card to the paypal account and paid for it......all ths before 10 am on a monday, think i need a lie down!

mogs0 · 03/10/2011 10:08

Phew, it's you! I just had a panic when I saw it had sold! I'll pack it up and get it sent out today. Thanks Smile. ds is going to be so chuffed when I tell him another one has sold...it might make up for him having no proper bed to sleep in for a couple of weeks Grin..

notcitrus · 03/10/2011 10:19

Ooh, 8 watchers already! Including 3 on the futon which I really hope sells!
I'd forgotten how addictive updating Ebay is...

Tortoise · 03/10/2011 10:22

Wow that's good mogs. Did you get a good price for it?
Fingers crossed DS2 bed sells this time! 1 watcher on it but had about 9 last time and it didn't sell!

mogs0 · 03/10/2011 10:38

£150 - that includes chest of drawers, bookcase and BN desk aswell as the bed.

I haven't heard from the buyer yet though so I'm reluctant to order ds a new bed until I know it's definitely going.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for yours selling too!

Notcitrus - I know exactly what you mean! I was up until 1am watching and refreshing my selling page and nearly fell off my chair when an item was purchased!

I work more hours now than I did when I listed last so that should keep me away from the refresh button a little yeah right.

ClaimedByMe · 03/10/2011 10:42

Thanks, hopefully it will keep ds amused during the schools next week! Poor ds having no bed!

mogs0 · 03/10/2011 10:49

He's actually quite excited Grin! I suggested I re-build his old cotbed, eventhough he moved out of it 5 years ago, not convinced that he'd go for it but he was thrilled at the idea! The only reason I still have the cotbed is because my mum bought it when ds was born and has guilt tripped me into keeping it - I think she was secretly hoping one of my sisters would have a baby and would use it.

lljkk · 03/10/2011 10:53

Woohoo! 25 quid up today (on 3 auctions, after all the fees).
My best sale was Chelsea FC kit (£23+); I bought it a huge bag of boy's clothes all for a tenner.
I would have kept the Chelsea kit, too, but the blue+white colours are all wrong (we live in a rabid Norwich city fan zone)
10 more auctions running... 3 unsold . I don't really expect to get more than a net tenner out of all of that lot.
But I've a growing pile of stuff I will give away or flog soon enough. I seem to be having a good week for getting rid of STUFF.
Friend even rang & came by yesterday to buy 2 big bags of bedding for his pets.

Tortoise · 03/10/2011 11:23

That's good mogs. They must be keen to snap it up that quick. Hope they get in touch soon.
3 watchers on bmx and 3 watchers on zebra print high heels!

mogs0 · 03/10/2011 11:29

Buyer has paid for the bed via pp and arranged to collect at the end of the week. I've emailed asking if I can refund the payment and for her to bring cash on collection - as a buyer, would you think that sounded a bit dodgy if you weren't a regular seller or collector of ebay items?

The buyer lives pretty close so I guess that's why it went so quickly.

Lots of watchers sounds promising, I hope they start bidding soon!!

Carrotsandcelery · 03/10/2011 13:02

Well done Mogs mine would think it was very exciting having no bed and even more exciting to be getting a new one. It's all an adventure to kids.

My rash of 99p sales is spreading. I definitely sticking to dino's trick for evening endings in future.

Carrotsandcelery · 03/10/2011 13:11

On a plus note, I have just noticed that a top I bought dd on ebay for £1.75 (which didn't fit her so I have relisted it) has bids up to £3.20 and it doesn't finish until tonight. I know it is small numbers but I still get a little kick out of it. Grin

I am also telling myself that the 99p's add up and would have just been given away if I hadn't sold them.

Seabright · 03/10/2011 13:16

Gah! The watcher on my most expensive item has "de-watched". How very dare they!

Bizarely, given the weather, the snowsuit has 3 watchers!

fergoose · 03/10/2011 13:43

Mogs no it isn't dodgy - but if you accept the payment you are leaving yourself wide open for a chargeback.

You must never accept paypal for a collection item so refund them straight away.

Carrotsandcelery · 03/10/2011 15:40

I have another ignorant question. If I mark an item as dispatched is the recipient informed or do I need to send them a separate message to let them know the item is in the post?

mogs0 · 03/10/2011 20:03

It'll show up on the buyers purchasing page but I'm not sure whether an email gets sent to them.

lljkk · 03/10/2011 20:03

Item dispatched, the recipient has to click on the auction to discover that, but don't worry about notifying them, most buyers don't track an item that closely. As long as it turns up soon after they paid they'll be happy.

Carrotsandcelery · 03/10/2011 20:28

Thank you - that has clarified that one for me.

And another question. I have had a buyer buy two items from me and it would seem polite to combine postage for her. Can I do that by just adjusting her invoice? Or do I have to do something more complex?

GossipWitch · 03/10/2011 20:48

I HAVE A WATCHER !!!!!!!!!!! I have also put a load of stuff on to a facebook selling page in my area, so I'm hoping that will help.

notcitrus · 03/10/2011 21:03

Gah - have tried all day to upload pics for two items and Ebay is still playing silly buggers; kept returning me to the sign-in page for hours and then keeps 'uploading' a pic for so long my login times out! Hopefully it will be OK tomorrow.

I have two bids though so that's a whole £8 with 6 days to go!
And 7 watchers on the sofabed...

Carrotsandcelery · 03/10/2011 21:11

Fingers crossed Gossip - ebay is bizarre. Something won't sell one week and there will be a bidding war over the same item the next week.

I have tried amending the invoice with a discoutn but every time I do it it says, "Page Not Responding". Why do ebay make it all so much trickier than it needs to be?

gigglepin · 03/10/2011 21:38

HAHAHAAA! I have 2 watchers...i am CHUFFED to bits.
I have my back bedroom full of stuff ive identified to sell, but i am holding back until i have sold all 11 items, then i shall move on. Im scared to death of getting mixed up with stuff and what if something happens?

I am posting 2nd class with signed for postage...im scared in case anything goes missing...what do you do then?? Im keeping all of my postage reciepts from the post office as proof of postage.

What about if stuff doesnt sell, do you just put it back on? OR do you wait a few weeks then put it back on?

fergoose · 03/10/2011 21:41

Carrots if you mark an item as dispatched the buyer does receive an email notifying them.
