Post your listings and questions here. The purpose is to raise money for Christmas and I'll start by showing my (so far) meagre listings here

Tortoise - if you don't sell all your puppets this week it might be worth bundling into 3 or 4 with a higher starting price maybe.

And I reckon if you put all the info about the bed that you put on here, about it not squeaking, better quality etc. you'll probably sell it - I reckon go for a reserve (for the very least you want, say £45/£50) with a higher BIN price. Every time I just go for a BIN price (which is what I really really want to make) I fail, but each time I've done that plus added a more realistic reserve I've managed to sell it with bids and reached my target price.

I've got 42 things listed, some ending Sunday night and some Monday night, 7 of them have bids on, 22 have watchers between 1 and 42(!) so my best guess this week is for 20 sales altogether and making £130 before fees - will let you know how reality compares on Tuesday - I really enjoy having a guess based on the state of play a day before they all end.

MY 41 LISTINGS ARE HERE

Right, I have 11 items scheduled to go live tonight.

I haven't done any housework so far today apart from to put one load of washing into the machine Blush so I'm going to empty it, put another load in, feed ds some lunch eventhoughit'sgettingclosertoteatimethanlunchtime then get his room tidy enough to take photos of his bedroom furniture that's scheduled for tonight!

gigglepin · 02/10/2011 15:15

Hi, i sold my first item last week! I was chuffed to death, only made £2 but it felt like i had made £10000 i was so pleased! saddo that i am.

Im taking my time, so if i sell something, then i put something else on, because i cant keep up with it all. Dashing home from work to check listings, and fitting in posting too.

Im just flogging kids clothes, i am a bit worried about selling "bundles" becuase it hikes up the postage costs. But im not sure which will go better, bundles or singular items????

Millie1 · 02/10/2011 19:34

Everyone's so busy listing!

Would anyone know why eBay won't let me log on to sell? I listed 8 items today and now when I input my password, it just keeps going back to the log-in screen. I've even tried inputting an incorrect password and it gives the incorrect password message. Any ideas? I've looked to see whether there are any restrictions on my account, don't know where to look exactly but can't find any - and don't think there should be because I've sold before and they take invoices direct from my Paypal account. Going slightly mad here!

fergoose · 02/10/2011 19:55

Millie clear your cookies then log in again - that should solve it.

Millie1 · 02/10/2011 20:20

Thanks Fergoose, you're a lifesafer! Going against the clock now to have other bits listed before Downton Abbey starts Grin

fergoose · 02/10/2011 20:32

very welcome :)

Tortoise · 02/10/2011 20:39

Listed 2 items! Been so busy today that I haven't got around to listing anything else despite having a pile of items it the corner to list!

notcitrus · 02/10/2011 20:44

Strewth - have spent the last five hours listing stuff... finally I contribute to this thread!
I tried listing the furniture on Gumtree too but it keeps timing out when I try uploading photos. Though Ebay was timing out too so I have three listings needing photos added later.

I know the furniture pics are a bit crap but there really is nowhere to move the items to without stuff in the background which is why I need to get rid of them!
We also need the £350 as bought a lovely chest recently and the guy asked if we'd like the rest of the suite at a good price... so we bought the lot.

I hate the balance of trying to warn buyers about everything they might want to complain about versus putting them off completely. Now if anyone in London wants a lovely Futon Company sofabed for a song, not to mention vintage children's books and other gubbins, please see here:

acsec · 02/10/2011 20:57

I had to relist these not quite up to £350 and think I've run out of things to sell!!

Millie1 · 02/10/2011 21:24

Blooming heck ... This eBay lark is time-consuming! It took me the guts of an hour to list the double buggy alone! Have 8 items on and another 3 relisted. I've taken a bit of a risk and put the price I want on the collection only times, rather than a low starting price on the basis that living where I live there aren't going to be many, if any, people bidding things up. Do hope I haven't shot myself in the foot. Smile

mogs0 · 02/10/2011 21:30

Here are my things. I already have watchers on 5 items so fingers crossed that some of it will go.

I'm not happy about having 13 listings though so am going to list a couple more Grin.

Carrotsandcelery · 02/10/2011 21:33

I seem to be having a rash of things selling for 99p all of a sudden. It is lovely stuff too which is a bit of a shame for me but great for the buyers.

Does Next stuff sell better in a bundle as I have been listing it individually? My problem there would be things are not the same sizes and there isn't enough of it.

I also have a lot of with zero watchers - jigsaws and books. Very frustrating Sad

Carrotsandcelery · 02/10/2011 21:35

Mogs I have Up to sell as well. I will wait until yours is finished though. Please let me know how you get on with it.

mogs0 · 02/10/2011 21:47

No need to wait, carrots! I'm sure there are plenty of buyers to go around Grin.

The Toy Story DS game just sold on BIN less than an hour of being online Shock. I hope the others do as well. They belong to ds and he's been asking all day if anyone has bid yet. I had to explain that I'd used the scheduling trick and that they weren't actually live yet. He'll be thrilled that one has sold already!

Carrotsandcelery · 02/10/2011 21:49

The BIN seems a good idea for wii games - I would be seriously disappointed if they went for 99p Shock.

Well done little Mog - what is he planning on doing with the cash?

Tortoise · 02/10/2011 21:51

Unsold items resisted and some other bits listed quickly!
It's easy to list on my mobile. Quicker than on the laptop.

mogs0 · 02/10/2011 21:58

He'll probably buy more games Hmm. I'm not a fan and try and steer him towards the BOGOF or the bargain ones Grin.

Right, I'm debating whether to put my bed and wardrobe on. Is now a good time or not? I don't have a photo but could add one tomorrow when the light is better. One problem is that I haven't ordered a replacement yet but I do have a sofa bed I could use which is very comfy!

I love the bed and wardrobe, they are really beautiful but would be much better suited to someone with less stuff or someone with a spare bedroom as they'd make excellent guest bedroom furniture.

ClaimedByMe · 02/10/2011 22:01

mogs0 how old is your ds and would a 6 yo manage the ferrari game?

mogs0 · 02/10/2011 22:07

Hi, ds is just 9 and has had it about a year. I don't see why a 6 yr old wouldn't be able to play it - I think it's fairly straight forward - not that I am in any way, shape or form an expert on Wii games Grin. Shall I ask ds tomorrow what he thinks? You'll get a much better reply Grin.

ClaimedByMe · 02/10/2011 22:23

Yes please, im not any good with the computer games either! Thank you!

mogs0 · 03/10/2011 00:40

Bloody hell!! Ds' bed just sold on BIN Shock. I hadn't even put a picture on. Panic!

dizzyday07 · 03/10/2011 00:51

Have added some ladies clothes to my listings!

Mogs - are you in Newport, S. Wales? I'm in the one in Shropshire!

mogs0 · 03/10/2011 01:01

Yes, I am! We went camping in your Newport last Summer and I think I might have mentioned more than once or twice that there are 14 Newports in the UK and I was going to make it my goal to visit them all. Until your last post I had completely forgotten about it BlushGrin.

mogs0 · 03/10/2011 08:32

Claimedbyme - I asked ds and he said a 6 year old would be able to play the ferrari game easily and a 5 year old but maybe not a 4 year old Grin. Hth.
