Post your listings and questions here. The purpose is to raise money for Christmas and I'll start by showing my (so far) meagre listings here

dizzy - books for children sell well in the run up to Christmas especially if you can bundle a number of the same type/author together - we sold a bundle of 15 Charlie & Lola books, hard and soft back, for £30 a year or so ago. Just don't forget to mention any marks/torn bits etc.

Tortoise · 21/09/2011 21:54

Plus just noticed that my feedback is back to 100% Grin

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 22/09/2011 01:19

OP posts:

I have a bid Grin

Carrotsandcelery · 22/09/2011 14:19

I have 15 things listed but only one bid Sad

I am baffled as the shirt I have listed with a stain on it has 2 watchers but the one in beautiful condition has no watchers.

I will have to wait and see if either actually sell.

I am glad you are back up and running Tortoise

I am off to list another item I think.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 22/09/2011 14:46

Carrots - have you put a link to all your other listings at the bottom of each one?

Byeckerslike · 22/09/2011 15:38

mine have done quite well so far, would say £400 ish after fees! Which are astronomical btwShock

Carrotsandcelery · 22/09/2011 15:58

I haven't put a link Jareth. Is that easy to do?

Carrotsandcelery · 22/09/2011 15:59

Byeckerslike that is brilliant Shock What were you selling that earned you so much money?

Tortoise · 22/09/2011 16:05

I always put at the end of the listing - please take a look at my other items. And I mention that I will combine postage.

bilblio · 22/09/2011 16:12

I've had my first invoice through from ebay. I've sold £37 of stuff, and I've been invoiced £16... Is that right? It seems a lot.
I've only actually sold 5 items and just keep relisting the unsold things using the relist option.
I've tried working it out on the invoice but without printing it out I can't get my head around it and I've not got a printer at home yet... supposedly saving up for one, but at this rate that'll never happen!

oopslateagain · 22/09/2011 17:55

I have a used bottle of perfume on my listing, it was only sprayed a couple of times but I have 13 watchers and 4 bids so far... it's not even a new bottle! Shock

Have put some toiletries on there too just out of interest as it was free listing... wondering if people actually bid on these things?

Mousey84 · 22/09/2011 17:55

You will have to pay a listing fee every time (but you get one relisting credit, iirc) unless the item is 99p or less.

try using this calculator to check.

Byeckerslike · 22/09/2011 18:09

I sold my quinny travel system for 170 which was the bulk of it, loads of maternity clothes, one designer maternity dress plus shoes and bag for 120 had a right clear out, and since having twins has increased my brood to 3 im not planning on using it again!

Millie1 · 22/09/2011 18:19

Wow Byeckerslike! Did you,put your travel system as for collection only or for courier delivery?

I have an Easywalker Duo, Kiwi Explorer and M&P single buggy to list. Oh, and two Svan highchairs. As I'm in NI, if I do collection only I'm really missing probably quite a few potential buyers. Feel a bit overwhelmed at trying to dis-assemble and parcel for courier!

Carrotsandcelery · 22/09/2011 18:41

I will have a look at that Tortoise - thanks once again!

bilblio · 22/09/2011 20:24

Ahh right, I didn't know you only got one chance to relist.

Oops I've sold quite a few perfumes and toiletries. They're usually expensive ones which people have bought me that I don't like or I'm allergic to (basically any) I've been listing them at high starting prices but they always do well.

mogs0 · 22/09/2011 21:15

Does it matter how old the perfume is? I've got loads tucked away in a cupboard but I have had most of them for at least 10 years.

Millie1 · 22/09/2011 21:25

Sigh .... I wish someone would bid! Of 16 items, 3 have bids (low), and all but 4 have watchers - lots watching the children's Clarks boots.

acsec · 22/09/2011 21:33

I've made £140 so far. Here are my new listings.

DecapitatedLegoman · 22/09/2011 21:41

I'm up to £125 excluding fees. Got a few items ending on Sunday and am hoping to post a few more then too. Not many bids but a few watchers so here's hoping ...

items here

bilblio · 22/09/2011 22:00

mogs Just have a smell at them and see if they smell okay, perfume does go off. Also be really honest in your listings. I said if I'd used things, said I was allergic to them and how much roughly was left in them. One I sold recently I hadn't used but the body lotion that came with it appeared to only be about 80% full.

Sometimes the fact they're old is a bonus. I sold a perfume last year for £50+ I'd started it at £10, would have been happy to get that, I didn't realise it was no longer available in the shops.

Byeckerslike · 23/09/2011 07:38

Millie1 i listed it collection only yes and the couple came from sheffield to collect it, south lakes.
Last dc i sold a bebeconfort loola and posted it via courier to france, i stated collection only but she offered to arrange her own courier so i said yes.
Actually i agree, we are a bit out of the way for collection, not as many people up this end of the country but we are near the m6 so they travelled.
