Post your listings and questions here. The purpose is to raise money for Christmas and I'll start by showing my (so far) meagre listings here

Wow great result from DMs.
Mine are red patent i think. I will have to have a think about it and look on completed listings.

Got a few items listed tonight until i hit my selling limit again! Its really annoying me that the DSRs arent improving and getting my account back to normal!

my items.
A couple of the pictures have cropped badly but i listed using my phone. Will try and edit tomorrow. Had enough for one night!
Pile of school uniform to list next when i can list more items!

biggerfeetsmallerboobs · 14/09/2011 22:40

Please can I join? I listed 26 items of my daughter's clothing on Sunday for a 7 day listing.

Got watchers for about half and a couple of bids so far. There are some great tips from all you pros on here, next time I'll wait until just before pay day and do a 10 day listing! Thanks!

Do you know what the deal is with selling signed things?

Everything I have was signed in person so I don't have authenticity certificates.

chirpchirp · 15/09/2011 08:40

The only things I've ever been asked for authenticity certificates for is comic books as comic book authors are more likely to only sign a certain number of books upon release.

Assuming that it is books you have to sell I think it all depends on who the author is, whether it's a first edition and of course whether it is one of their earlier releases (before they were well known).

It might be worth your while listing them on Amazon rather than Ebay.

Carrotsandcelery · 15/09/2011 08:46

Lovely items biggerfeet and very nicely presented. Smile

Carrotsandcelery · 15/09/2011 09:45

Morning all! Can I ask for some help please? I made my first sales yesterday but don't know how I know if they have paid yet. I have had an email saying that they have paid but when I look on my page it says 2 items still need to be paid for and when I look at payments received on Paypal there is nothing there. I am assuming I don't post anything to them until I am sure they have paid. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Smile

LaWeasel · 15/09/2011 09:51

Ah I see.

I have some books and some fandom type stuff (mostly Firefly people)

Not sure whether to sell or not really, they're never displayed but they do have fond memories.

fergoose · 15/09/2011 09:51

When did you get the email saying you had been paid. The items in my eBay are they marked as payment received?

The money may be held for 21 days if you are a new seller.

Carrotsandcelery · 15/09/2011 10:07

The emails came yesterday, after the auctions ended, with email addresses from the buyers. Both say they confirm I have received new funds from those buyers.

There is nothing on my ebay page that I can find that says they have paid though.

Would paypal/ebay withold the funds until they see me deliver the goods?

I am a bit confused.

fergoose · 15/09/2011 10:11

next to the items in ebay there is a pound sign - the colour changes when an item is paid for.

When you log into paypal and click on their payments what does it say?

eBay may hold the payments for 21 days or until you receive feedback if you are a new seller.

Carrotsandcelery · 15/09/2011 10:31

Ok, it seems I had not connected my email to my paypal account or similar. I am now getting a message about accepting credit card payments. I had no idea this bit was so complicated. It suggests I have to pay to receive a credit card payment. Should I go ahead with this or should I reject the payment?

I am seriously lost now!

fergoose · 15/09/2011 10:33

You will need to accept the payment. Just follow the steps, it is all straightforward.

Carrotsandcelery · 15/09/2011 10:40

I didn't do anything except connect my email address and all payments seem to have gone through now. Phew! Thanks for your help fergoose.

Now I am trying to find the addresses to post the items to - surely it doesn't need to be this tricky Shock

fergoose · 15/09/2011 10:42

if you click on the item then on order details the address is there, it is also in the paypal emails.

biggerfeetsmallerboobs · 15/09/2011 11:22

Thanks Carrotsandcelery! I am a new seller too but my items don't end until Sunday, I am hoping that getting payment/feedback/postal addresses is not a complicated as it seems! Thank goodness for all the advice available here, I think I'm going to need it.

Carrotsandcelery · 15/09/2011 16:31

Thanks again fergoose - I found it and parcels are packed and addressed now, waiting for the post office to open in the morning.

bigger I suspect it is not complex at all, I am just bottom of the class and finding the right buttons on ebay for some reason Blush

I have made another £7 on the item I sold today. yay! Grand total £25 so far!

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 15/09/2011 21:03

I've listed some new things tonight and been brave enough to put the Tiffany jewellery on, fingers crossed. Items here

Potentially more drama with the damaged parcel coming (fed up) p4d seem to be handling our complaint well which is nice but fed up of how long this has all been dragging on.
We're getting the wii fixed with the intention of selling it again and I tempted to just send DH out in the car to deliver it in person next time!

DecapitatedLegoman · 15/09/2011 21:56

Evening all. I have finally listed all of the stuff I had photographed earlier in the week. I have a couple of items of jewellery which I don't like much, gift boxed and for reasonable prices but they just aren't shifting, not sure what I'm doing wrong. Few page visits :(

Ah well. I've got a sling to sell soon, that ought to do OK. I'm enjoying the support here, it's really motivating me.

Hope your problems get sorted out soon LaWeasel, I'd be getting impatient too :)

DecapitatedLegoman · 15/09/2011 22:06

Dino, in the description of your Star Wars plaster kit it says "missing spoon", and I wonder if it's meant to say mixing spoon instead? Just thought I'd point it out to you in case it was an error.

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 16/09/2011 11:02

Decap - thanks for that, have relisted as couldn't edit as it ended tonight.

bilblio · 16/09/2011 14:36

Free listings again this weekend. Are they trying to drum up trade?

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 16/09/2011 14:40

I suspect they are, has been really slow and even things that are selling seem to be going for lower than usual prices.

oopslateagain · 16/09/2011 15:32

Can I join in? Just discovered this thread, perfect timing as I'm selling some bits on ebay for the first time in months! And it's the first time I have EVER had more than two bidders, so I am ridiculously excited!

list here

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 16/09/2011 17:46

If I posted a couple of pics on my profile would anyone be kind enough to have a look and tell me what they think are?!

Neighbour gave us some things for my children after a clear out and said if they didn't want them to stick them on ebay, problem is I have no idea what the stuff is called and as they boys aren't interested I'd like to sell them - there are no brand names or markings on any of the pieces.

Thanks
