Post your listings and questions here. The purpose is to raise money for Christmas and I'll start by showing my (so far) meagre listings here

Well at least they are going to a home where they are wanted Grin

Carrotsandcelery · 14/09/2011 20:59

Wow Honeydragon! I am pretty sure we have a few pairs of docs in the loft Shock You may have just made our Christmas Grin

LaWeasel · 14/09/2011 21:00

I have sold a few marked things over the last week, since everything's described accurately no one seems to mind.

I love the last minute bidfests Grin

Got to sort out the claim for damage to our Wii by the couriers now... looks like it will be a complete pita.

NB: When sending expensive parcels you need to photograph how you packaged them up beforehand as evidence they were packed correctly!

bilblio · 14/09/2011 21:01

Wow Honey, Just looked at your listings. Well done!!
I've got some red tartan Dr Martens which I'm never likely to wear again but are in great condition. I was going to save them for DD, but I might list them instead now

LaWeasel · 14/09/2011 21:01

Honeydragon · 14/09/2011 21:02

Not intending to be unfair to your dd but you have no idea how long they'd fit her for, whereas you may get a good sum for them now Smile

mogs0 · 14/09/2011 21:09

Great price on the DMs!

I've made a very promising discovery today. My aunt bought ds some clothes from joules in their sale a couple of years ago. He's worn them loads but they still look like new apart from a dirty great toothpaste stain on at least 3 of the tops. I tend to sell his clothes when he's grown out of them but just couldn't get the toothpaste out of these tops so had resigned myself to the fact that I'd not be able to eBay them.

I had a new washing machine last month and just washed one of the jumpers and it's taken the toothpaste stain away and it looks perfect again!

I now need to go and find the bag full of stained clothes waiting to be recycled and get them in the washing machine for one last try!

JarethTheGoblinKing · 14/09/2011 21:09

Wow, I've got a pair of those docs in red nubuck! Awesome :)

JarethTheGoblinKing · 14/09/2011 21:13

Crap - have just remembered some blue suede DMs that I never wore, as new condition that went to the charity shop

Honeydragon · 14/09/2011 21:20

Jareth, my Goth Boots went on over the school holidays and fetched £37 Wink

I am selling off my youth Sad

Wow Honey, way to go! I've got a ton of stuff photographed and ready to list but I'm shattered after a long day at work. Nothing on tomorrow so I'll do it then i think. If I do a 10 day listing starting tomorrow will it end on a Sunday?

bilblio · 14/09/2011 21:46

Honey Don't worry I thought exactly the same regarding DD and her foot size.... and after all she's only 4 :)
I still wear my plain black ones occasionally and I have my first ever pair which I painted, and have been re-soled 3 times. She can have them if she likes.

What's classed as Vintage for DM's?
These are about 15 years old.... in fact I bought them on a shopping trip to buy my first ever pair of boring work shoes.... I went round every shoe shop in Sheffield and the DM's were the only shoes I tried on all day that were comfortable so at the end of the day I went back to buy them :o
The work shoes I got wear boring and uncomfortable.

Honeydragon · 14/09/2011 21:52

Mine, must be about 15 years too, I did a search on ebay and saw a pair the same sold in Portugal, described as vintage, so figured fair description.

Mind you, I get depressed at anything purchased in the '90's described as vintage...

JarethTheGoblinKing · 14/09/2011 21:57

I do still have my black steel toe capped ones.. not sure I can part with those though.. they're certainly vintage.

Am a bit disturbed that anything I bought in my teens is vintage though, am I that old?

Honeydragon · 14/09/2011 22:07

depressing isn't it?

I am keeping my 20 hole black ones as I still wear them, despite lacking a skin head. They must be nearly 20 Shock

Machin11 · 14/09/2011 22:09

Hey eBayers, one thing do not throw away is Tamagotchi's, about a year ago I listed two, they didn't turn on and they were scratched, we were completely honest in the listing and listed them for 50p, DH said I should bin them, they were so bad they sold for £22, I was soooo embarrased, I kept the money for ages in case the buyer was unhappy, but I got mega feedback!!

bilblio · 14/09/2011 22:10

It is a bit depressing isn't it.... at least Vintage sounds good, well aged and a classic.
Better than being described as antique... or just Old! :o

JarethTheGoblinKing · 14/09/2011 22:20

Gah, now I'm miserable.

I've got a vintage coat, St Martins designed, that I'm resisting putting on, but should get a decent amount Confused

I've also got a very good Radiohead collection, Pablo Honey to OK Computer, all singles and rare discs etc.. reckon I should list them? Again, not sure I could part with them though Sad

JarethTheGoblinKing · 14/09/2011 22:21

I still wear my black docs.. they'll last another 50 years I bet, no way I'm selling them.. Those nubuck cherry reds though, where the hell are they? Angry

buggrit

bilblio · 14/09/2011 22:22

Oh Wow! I have a tamagotchi.... somewhere....

Perfume is something I did well on. Dolce & Gabana "By" MIL bought it for me, I didn't like it so it sat in the cupboard for a few years until I eventually sold it. I listed it at £10 and it sold for £56! I didn't know but they don't make it anymore.

bilblio · 14/09/2011 22:27

Don't list things you couldn't bear to part with... you'll regret it.

DH has a vintage left handed fender stratocaster guitar. The right handed versions sell for about £1500. So his is worth about £2000.
I would never ever even consider asking him to sell it.... although we should probably mention it to the insurance company thinking about it.

If anyone has any of the old Coca-cola yo-yo's from the 80's they sell for about £20.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 14/09/2011 22:29

DMs will stay. Radiohead may be sold, depending on how much they're likely to get.

I keep having to stop myself looking around the house for things to sell, there's a ton of Ghibli stuff that would get me a few hundred, but not selling. I'll regret.
