Post your listings and questions here. The purpose is to raise money for Christmas and I'll start by showing my (so far) meagre listings here

OP posts:
LaWeasel · 11/09/2011 18:12

We've been doing it after they paid and I'd posted it off.

Tortoise · 11/09/2011 19:23

I wait until they leave feedback. That way I know the have received it and are happy.

LaWeasel · 11/09/2011 20:44

Just got £24 for our used carseat cover, so anyone digging for stuff to sell I recommend those!

Tortoise · 11/09/2011 20:49

Can't be bothered to list tonight. To disheartened by lack of bids/items sold tonight. Even a pair of girls Next skinny jeans sold for less than £2!

Redumbdancy · 11/09/2011 20:50

more new listings here

Redumbdancy · 11/09/2011 20:50

I leave feedback once I've posted their items.

dizzyday07 · 11/09/2011 21:08

I leave feedback after they leave feedback for me - then I know they are happy with the purchase.

I had a really good weekend selling. Managed to sell all DD's Rainbows uniform and her barely used Heelys for nearly twice what I paid for them Grin

Carrotsandcelery · 11/09/2011 21:16

Aww tortoise - tomorrow is another day. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and try again.

chirpchirp · 11/09/2011 23:04

Hope you don't mind me jumping on board at this late stage - Just got my first load of listing up tonight that profits have been earmarked for Christmas - you can find them here if you fancy a look -

Also a quick question. How many of you include a buy it now option with your listings? I never used to but have tried it a few times now and have had a fair bit of success so far.

Mousey84 · 12/09/2011 00:29

£62 profit for first week, so while not record breaking here, Im very pleased.

Got 30 items to relist though (losts that will do better closer to winter), and lots of new items with photos done and listings written in Microsoft Word ready for next free listing weekend.

Bizarrely, Ive also become even more thrifty during the last week - as they say, its easier to save a pound that make one!

Honeydragon · 12/09/2011 01:08

2/3 items sold
Did better than expected, sold a pair of SMS and boys trainers and will make £50 ish after fees

Honeydragon · 12/09/2011 01:08

DMs not SMS

Carrotsandcelery · 12/09/2011 09:29

I am not listing any more children's stuff this week as we are going to try the kids sale at the weekend and see if that works. I will count that as ebay earnings though as it is much the same idea. If things don't sell there I will put them on ebay next week.

I seem to be limited to 10 items this month. Is that normal when you start out on ebay? Will I be allowed more if I complete my transactions without problems? Is there a way to be allowed more?

Carrotsandcelery · 12/09/2011 11:33

I have just listed on of dh's shirts and was wondering if men's wear sold as well as woman's wear and children's wear? Does anyone have any experience of this?

JarethTheGoblinKing · 12/09/2011 11:50

Few more things listed today - got a couple more things to list but think they will do better if I list in the evening (women's clothing)

chirpchirp · 12/09/2011 12:18

Are Monday nights as good as Sunday nights to list/have items finish? Would like to get a few more things up but not sure whether I should wait or not.

Brilliant start to my target just from buy it nows snapped up last night. Already at £85 and still have some nice Monsoon dresses, more baby stuff and a couple of antique trinkets to list.

LaWeasel · 12/09/2011 12:18

I'm not sure carrots, have you bought things off ebay before? We were allowed to sell more than that for our first time at the end of August but already had a good buyer's profile so not sure if that changes things?

Cartoonjane · 12/09/2011 12:34

I'm joining in!

Not very good at links! Try again:

here

Carrotsandcelery · 12/09/2011 12:46

LaWeasel I have bought for a 6 years or more and have a 100% feedback score. 'tis frustrating as it is going to slow me down. Hmm

LaWeasel · 12/09/2011 13:02

No idea in that case! Sounds very odd. You have to battle through the contact us section a bit, but there is a phone number you can ring ebay on, so maybe try ringing and asking?

Carrotsandcelery · 12/09/2011 13:06

Thanks - I will go and have a hunt around then. Smile

Carrotsandcelery · 12/09/2011 13:21

I think I have solved it - I was waiting to speak to someone on the phone when I saw a "requeat a bigger selling allowance" button. It seems I need to connect my paypal account to my bank to sell more. It is not working just now but I will try again later. Fingers crossed.

LaWeasel · 12/09/2011 15:53

Re: our broken Wii, it has arrived back, I can't look at it properly yet but the box is a bit battered with a hole in one side - it was a brand new proper moving house-quality box, so it looks like it's city-link's fault. Very cross that they have messed up this sale.

Tortoise · 12/09/2011 18:16

CartoonJane I would recommend putting sizes in title of listings. If there is no size in a title I don't bother looking at the item.
