Sold 27 items this weekend so my guess of 25 wasn't far off. More stuff to go on tomorrow night but current stuff for sale here

JarethTheGoblinKing · 13/06/2011 17:28

couple of things ending tonight, few more bits added last night Grin

moomoo1967 · 13/06/2011 20:04

Listed a book by using the number on the back. The description said "spiral version" which I didn't notice. It is just a plain stapled version. The buyer has contacted me asking for my comments. I have apologised and offered to refund the 49p the book cost so that he gets it free or for him to return the book to me at his own cost and once I receive it I will refund the amount he originally paid. Do I also have to refund him the cost of his return postage ?

fergoose · 13/06/2011 20:06

you don't have to give him the return postage, but you do have to return all of his original payment, both the item cost and the postage.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 13/06/2011 20:13

Bloody hell, why do people bid when they're in another country before asking postage costs! Grrrr...

debtfreeiwish · 13/06/2011 23:27

well i'm in shock at moment Shock, had a clear out of my jewellery box and found a few bits 3 fine tangled up gold necklaces, pair of earrings,a few plain small pendants, n 2 rings.decided to put on ebay has scrap to see what happens, stated i didn't know if they were gold or gold plated and that they were taking a chance on bidding (hence £1.00 starting bid) just had a look to see how it's going and it's at £64 and 13 watchers with still 15hours o go Grin......

moomoo1967 · 14/06/2011 07:53

Morning, hope someones up early to help. Something a little odd has happened. A listing finished the buyer went to pay and the postage has disappeared ! In the listing you can quite clearly see that it says postage £2.98 but when I go to send an invoice it says postage free ! She has paid the £1.20 for the item and has asked if I can amend the invoice so that she can pay the postage, I cannot see how to do it ? My settings are such that only I can amend the postage and I don't usually post out of the UK, the buyer lives in Mayo, Ireland so not sure if that is in Northern Ireland or not.

Not sure how I can create another invoice or shall I just ask her to send me a cheque or postal order for the postage ?

allthefires · 14/06/2011 11:58

You refund the paypal and issue new invoice otherwise you don't have protection.

Happened to me when I didn't remove free collection from invoice and buyer paid on phone

moomoo1967 · 14/06/2011 19:13

Thanks allthefires

moomoo1967 · 14/06/2011 19:22

this week has been a bit of a week ! Sent out 20 items on Sat and had one posted through my door on Monday. I put a label on the back with "Sender" and my name and address. On the front it has "To" and the name and the address. So how come then Mr Postman delivered it to me ! huh huh !! Doh !

allthefires · 14/06/2011 19:27

How annoying. I just put my surname, house number, postcode on my sender details. May prevent mr postie from doing it again.

moomoo1967 · 14/06/2011 19:48

Good idea. Even the post office staff couldn't believe it lol

Vix1980 · 14/06/2011 21:25

Hiya, made £34 tonight from just 4 items, have more ending soon and have just listed tons more here

moomoo1967 · 15/06/2011 07:13

Morning everyone, I had a notification last night that there is a free listing weekend on Ebay this weekend. 18th & 19th June, usual T&C. The main one being that you cannot use Turbolister and only on auction style listings.
Good luck !

SNOWBall4girlz · 15/06/2011 13:01

hi
I have had that e-mail too
free listing sat and sun again

I have got the last of my free listings ending today including a balamory set which I have not seen another one anywhere up to £18 :)

here
I have sold a few things but the two designer blouses were my nieces so not my money iyswim.
Remember I am sure that you can pre do your listings and schedule them in the sell ypur item form ...then go and activate them when you want them to start ?
I amhoping to get lots on this weekend summer is creeping up fast even if it is still raining x

Vix1980 · 15/06/2011 17:03

Hi snowball,

Good tip, so if i write the whole listing out then what do i press so it doesnt start straight away, i can do some over the following days in work then start them sat and sun to save me wasting the whole weekend writing them all out!

SNOWBall4girlz · 15/06/2011 17:31

You have to use the sell your item form in ebay and it worked last time as long as you schedule them for a later day as far as I know :)

I hope to get some done ready for weekend too many kids too many clothes not enough time :)

tortoise can you list again yet ?

I am gutted someone left me a 1 or 2 for postage :(

fergoose · 15/06/2011 17:48

you can schedule a listing to start later, but it does cost 6p I think so listing won't actually be free.

Tortoise · 15/06/2011 18:17

The listing will be free if you schedule it, then before the scheduled time comes up, you edit the listing to start immediately! A sneaky way to avoid the schedule fee! Grin

SNOW I have a 21 item selling limit and i don't think i qualify for free listing Sad. Very annoying because i have a massive rat/chinchilla cage to list and want to start it quite high. Will probably just opt for BIN now!

Vix1980 · 15/06/2011 20:30

Am I correct in thinking that if you don't post to the address in the Paypal notification that you wouldn't be protected ? I had a late notification last night about a payment and very quickly wrote out the address label to the Paypal address. I have since noticed a note asking for me to despatch to a different address.

fergoose · 18/06/2011 17:56

yes you should always send to the address given by paypal - if the buyer wants it to another address, refund their payment, then they will need to update paypal and pay you again.

moomoo1967 · 18/06/2011 18:24

ooops too late, I was in such a rush to get to the post office that I had addressed it to the paypal address and have only just noticed now. I have sent him an email address apologising and explaining that paypal advise sellers to post to the confirmed address to protect the seller.

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 18/06/2011 20:04

Here's my listings ending tomorrow night

Need to get my finger out to get some more stuff on for free listing this weekend, have about 50 things to go on but lacking the motivation :)
