Mrsb - PayPal will automatically deduct their fees from the amount that's paid which includes the P&P amount. It's 3.4% plus 0.20p, so something that sells for 99p and £2 postage will cost you 30p in Paypal fees and that's on top of ebay fees. Does that help?

Angry Seller dashboard says still below standard for DSR Sad. Being marked down for dispatch time but i don't know why. Items are listed as dispatch within 4 days which i do. I don't know what else i can do. Sad Have so much stuff to list and i can't list it all.

happygilmore · 05/06/2011 14:01

I think the problem is the question ebay asks buyers is "how quickly did the seller dispatch" not "did they send when they said they would".. Is there no way you can send quicker? DSRs are a potential nightmare...

Tortoise · 05/06/2011 15:27

Sometimes I send quicker it just depends on what I am doing and what day it is.
If I don't sell for a month will that sort it or will it stay low until I get more ratings?

OP posts:
happygilmore · 05/06/2011 15:35

I think it's really unfair too, if it's clearly marked on your listings..but that's ebay I guess. I'm not sure about how it looks, have you looked at your detailed ratings in your seller dashboard? What does it say?

moomoo1967 · 06/06/2011 17:13

Can I still join in ? I have taken advantage of the past two free listing weekends and have so far sold 29 items. I have 133 active listings at present.
I have only made approx £45 so far after Ebay fees, Paypal fees and postage but I suppose that is £45 more than I would have had. Its all my DDs clothes from age 0-13 but so far I have only managed to list my shoes, books, handbags and age 8 clothes. Age 8 was the largest pile lol which is why I didn't start at age 0

allthefires · 06/06/2011 19:27

Can I join you and estimate £150? Dont have that much to sell so £150 would be lovely!

Tortoise · 06/06/2011 22:34

Anyone is welcome to join. Link your listings as well if you like.
I think I will list 21 items which is the limit restriction on account and post next day where possible and hope that restrictions are lifted after that!

OP posts:
moomoo1967 · 07/06/2011 06:28

The only restriction I was aware of was the 100 free listing items permitted per month for a private seller. I have disabled the Detailed feedback settings(I think) so hopefully that won't stop me listing stuff. I will try and link have never managed to before Smile

moomoo1967 · 07/06/2011 06:33

Hopefully this will show my listings, more are being added daily.

moomoo1967 · 07/06/2011 06:39

Am I correct in thinking that as long as I am listing items that are already mine that I don't have to declare what I make for tax purposes or benefits etc ?

Tortoise · 07/06/2011 06:45

I only have restrictions because the stars I received on the detailed sellers ratings were below standard for shipping. I don't think you can disable these. I'm sure you are right about tax.

lazydog · 07/06/2011 07:06

Tortoise - I know it probably isn't easy to organise, but I think the only way you'll improve your rating for shipping time is if you ship within a day or two of the auction ending. Many buyers will simply ignore the mention of "within 4 days" within the postage details bit and just compare (unfavourably, it seems) to the shipping timescale of other sellers that they've used in the past.

allthefires · 07/06/2011 09:50

I would love to link my listings and recieve feedback by after being burnt by a RL incident Im keeping personal details vague!

Lovely to hear everyones experiences though

allthefires · 07/06/2011 09:55

Can I just ask a quick question I won a pushchair on 19th May and it hasnt been dispatched yet. The seller has been in touch with apoligises and I feel it is genuine as part of the late dispatch was due to me being on hols and then her not dispatching due to house move. Its suppose to be here this week.

Is there a timeframe for opening a dispute if need be? Hopefully wont need to just want to make sure Im not being over generous to my detriment.

Thanks

fergoose · 07/06/2011 10:08

I would open a dispute after about 10 days - the seller is supposed to dispatch within 7 days of paypal payment

i think you have been patient enough to be honest!

fergoose · 07/06/2011 10:09

oh and you must open a dispute within 45 days of payment for a refund, so don't be fobbed off and miss the opportunity.

allthefires · 07/06/2011 15:03

Thank you. It was meant to be dispatched Friday after I paid due to me being on hols. She replied last week to say would be dispatched this friday by courier. Still not here so will give it til Thurs.

fergoose · 07/06/2011 15:17

You can open a paypal dispute now, then escalate it in a few days time if you wish.

Opening it may spur your seller into action, but to be honest after all this time and lack of communication I would rather a refund and shop elsewhere.

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 07/06/2011 21:43

More stuff from me tonight Ebay listings

Made £200 in May and hoping to make the same again this month if I can find the motivation to list - it's getting harder every week!

moomoo1967 · 08/06/2011 08:51

Dino I get you when you say its getting harder to list Smile plus my internet connection is very intermittent so just as I am about to press 'Submit' I get no connection ! but hopefully by the time I get home from work today I will have Plusnet instead of Sky

baabi · 10/06/2011 00:03

Listed another lot at the free weekend, hoping for last minute bidding as there are quite a few watchers myitems

Also has anyone has ever been paid with a echeque. I have been paid for something with one and it takes over a week to clear, I assume I do not post the item until paypal says it is is OK?

Tortoise I was not aware that the number of items you could list was limited if your ratings are low. Last year I was down on despatch as well, but I think it did not affect the amount I could list. It did however take a while to clear and I was really annoyed about that. That is why I now advise on all my listings my posting days so buyers know what to expect before bidding, I am not a business and there is no way I could get to the post office everyday. Maybe you should put something on yours along the same lines.

Vix1980 · 10/06/2011 09:08

Hello
