Instituto Bernabeu - experiences?

Just starting out on exploring this avenue after four failed attempts at IVF. It still feels like a large leap to make as I still had hope that I might be successful with my own eggs but starting to come to terms with this and now looking into alternate options.
My clinic works closely with IB in Spain, and I'd love to hear experiences from anyone who has been through a donor cycle with them. How did you find the whole process? What worked well and not so well? Any advice that you can share?

Anyone with experience of IB Madrid? I read about so many experiences at alicante location. Why is that so? The main branch or headquarter? With firsthand on better standards?
I've been told that the first appointment is linked to a branch/location and it cannot be changed afterwards. Appreciate any input from this community ❤️❤️❤️

Hi
I’ve been looking at going out to IB in Alicante next week.
I had to cancel our appointment last month due to personal reasons.
It would be good to have others to discuss with. Where are you guys based?
This will be my 4th cycle but first with Alicante as heard great things and my sister knows 2 couples who have had children through this clinic.
I am actually going directly to Alicante first for our initial tests but will then need to find an affiliated clinic near me… so I may be doing this the other way round to most people… not sure it’s the right way to do this… so wondering where you guys are based and who your affiliated clinics in the UK are.
Many thanks

@ChoKuRei
We have been in Alicante just for fish & tunnel test but the clinic was nice, clean and you felt cared for. We are at the moment in Mallorca at IB duing our second stimulation, they are very proffesional and explain all steps.
I'm living in Sweden so I'm afraid I cant help you out on home clinics in UK. But I was in contact with one clinic to search for fish and tunel in London. Kings Fertility they vere very quick and proffessional with respons to my questions.
Best of luck!

Just to let everyone know we got on the guarantee program I’m over 40 and we went for embryo adoption in April time and we are pregnant and waiting for our 20 week scan. The only difference that I did was not go to work in the early weeks. As I have other health issues I think this helped so much. I literally did nothing!!! When I’m a very active person and like to be busy but it all worked soooo far fingers crossed. The only down side we are in massive debt.

Hi, I have booked a consultation with IVI Madrid but came across this thread on IB and learned about their guaranteed programme. Although I think I may just fall out of it (I’m 43, 44 in 2 months). But I was more interested if anyone had considered IVI Spain (Madrid or any other clinic) and decided on IB instead?
There are so many clinics and I’m so overwhelmed with information. Struggling to decide on whom to progress with. I only want to try with my own eggs (personal preference) and am so terrified of attempts failing.
Thank you in advance.

Hi all,
we have been trying for a baby for 8 years now, we have had 3 failed rounds of ivf in the uk and due to previous cancer treatment I only have one ovary so we’re advised the best way forward would be to use a egg donor.
we registered with a uk agency in January this year and it took until September to find a match, we had consultations and had scans and blood test due next week with a view for donor to start treatment in December but sadly we had a call last week to say she no longer wanted to continue. We are devastated I feel that we have wasted months and now we are back to square one looking at maybe another 9 months just to find a match!
a friend of a friend has recommended using Instituto Bernabeu in Alicante after hearing good stories from other patients. We have reached out to them and waiting to hear from to book a first appointment. There is lots of really positive stories on here too which is fantastic so we already have a lot of confidence in the clinic and I wondered what the time frame was from first appointment to transfer, do they really have donors ready to go or is there a long wait to get a match? Should mention I’m white 5’4 brown hair brown eyes so all very boring and nothing unusual to find in a match!
I know if or when it happens it will be worth the wait but by I’ve been telling myself this for 8 years now and I’m on the verge of just giving up.
any help would be would be so very much appreciated! X

Hi @Surri297 I'n sorry to hear about your experience so far. Sending you loads of hugs
🤗🤗
We are with IB as we would've had to wait Atleast 12 months for a match in the UK. So far our journey has been good. In our experience we didn't wait too long from their side. We had a phone consultation within a couple of weeks of signing up, and were matched within a few days to our surprise. With your description, I'd assume you wouldn't have to wait long either for a match.I hope this helps 🤞

@Surri297 in our case our donor was found immediately (i'm also average height, weight, brown hair, blue eyes). We were lucky to get pregnant on the first try and our awesome, healthy baby girl just turned 1! Even those that know she's not my biological daughter comment on how much she looks like me, LOL. Good luck and fingers crossed for you!

Hiya,
I'm just researching either going to IB Alicante or CRGH in London. Has anyone else researched both of these two and have any advice for me? CRGH in London has a 61% success rate for egg recipients age 44 plus. It feels as though it'll be easier with a UK clinic but I've read lots of great reviews about the IB clinics.
I'm 47, just a couple of weeks ago. I have a 5 year old daughter via IVF. My latest round in November with a UK clinic didn't work. I'm using Donor Eggs.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. xx

Don’t know anything about the London clinic you mention, but we have used IB twice and now have two beautiful children via embryo donation. For the first, it worked first cycle, for the second it worked second cycle so we did three cycles in total with them ( as well as a dummy cycle) . They were very professional and efficient and very focused on getting a successful pregnancy. I would totally recommend them.
