Just starting out on exploring this avenue after four failed attempts at IVF. It still feels like a large leap to make as I still had hope that I might be successful with my own eggs but starting to come to terms with this and now looking into alternate options.

My clinic works closely with IB in Spain, and I'd love to hear experiences from anyone who has been through a donor cycle with them. How did you find the whole process? What worked well and not so well? Any advice that you can share?

@An0ther not sure what your plan is but I see the travel restrictions will be lifted soon.
You'd still need a negative PCR to enter Spain, then one done in Spain to get back to the UK, then two tests in the UK and 10 days quarantine.
My local Boots is doing the tests for £120.

@Mari0000 hope all is well.

PinkGold · 26/03/2021 14:13

@Francescaaa you will soon be allowed to travel to Spain if you do decide to go with IB. Good luck with the call.

Mari0000 · 26/03/2021 14:17

@PinkGold hello, thanks for asking!
I had an early scan Wednesday, 5+4, saw the embryo and sac, measuring 2.5mm, but too soon to see the heart. So going back again next Wed. and hope everything is ok.

PinkGold · 26/03/2021 14:31

Oh that's a great start @Mari0000 hoping for more good news next week!

gfhun · 26/03/2021 17:02

That’s wonderful news @Mari0000

Hi ladies I hope it's not too late to join the conversation. I'm in the early stages of considering IB as I've had 6 miscarriages which has affected me hugely and not been very happy with NHS care (or lack of) so far. I was thinking of renting my flat in London and staying in Spain for the procedure as my partner and I can work remotely. I've never done IVF before but I just don't trust my NHS dr's as they have brushed over a few of my conditions (adenomyosis/ hypothyroidism/ antibodies) and it seems like they look more in depth at IB in Spain?? Roughly how long would we need to stay in Spain to avoid flying back and forth? 2 months? More? Any help appreciated to help us see if this is a viable option. Thank you

An0ther · 09/06/2021 19:38

So at the moment we are anticipating going to Spain and doing a test when we are in Spain to come back then 10 days isolation and 2,8 day tests. Am I right ?
When is the next update on red, amber and green list?

Talk2thehand · 09/06/2021 20:28

@An0ther I just saw an article that said 24th June but i don't know if that's confirmed. I feel for all of you that are mid treatment. Must be so stressful

Sine1 · 09/06/2021 22:18

I’m in the middle of a mock cycle with them and hoping to go out in August once I’ve had my second vaccine. So far they’ve been really helpful and I don’t have to pay until I’ve completed my mock cycle. I’m looking to do egg donation. Just hoping Spain stays on the Amber list as I can work from home and isolate when I return. It seems like the lists could change at any time however.

greendress789 · 31/07/2021 22:17

Hi all
I am considering this clinic.
Live in the UK.
Can we get to Spain ok at the moment?

Sine1 · 01/08/2021 00:50

I hope so as I go next week. It seems if you’re double vaccinated then you don’t need a PCR test when you arrive, although that could change. You definitely need to have a PCR test before you travel back to the UK and another one on day 2. Depending where you live in the UK you may need another one on day 8. However best keep an eye on the rules as they can change.

greendress789 · 02/08/2021 08:39

Thanks you.

Has anyone here done the 3 cycle guarantee package?

gfhun · 02/08/2021 09:23

Yes, I’m on the guarantee program

greendress789 · 02/08/2021 12:56

@gfhun have you had treatment yet, would you mind sharing your experience?

An0ther · 06/08/2021 15:22

Hi
Our first go ended in miscarriage we paid about 4000 euro I’m sure we get another go but can not seem to get a straight answer from our contact at clinic. It was a long time ago when we started the process because of covid we had to wait. Anyone know what happens here.

lalody · 17/08/2021 15:49

Hi everyone,
I hope you don't mind me hijacking this post, but I'm overwhelmed. I've got a low AMH @32 and considering the egg donation programme. Have been sent a list of various tests to qualify. Where would you recommend I take these tests please? Eg, full Sti screening, mammogram and ECG to name a few.

Worstusername · 01/09/2021 10:17

Hi, I've not read the whole thread, just the last few messages. I've had a couple of appointments at IB, one in 2019 (we put it on hold for a while, then Covid hit) and one a few weeks ago. We did all our test at IB. It was really easy and I'd priced up some of them in UK (mammogram) and IB was much cheaper. You can do all the tests in 1 visit - my husband gave a sperm sample (now frozen) so I only need to go back for the embryo transfer (hopefully we get to that stage) so no more visits needed. If you can't do your tests there, you can ask them for UK clinics they work with/recommend and they should be able to e mail you some info

Worstusername · 01/09/2021 10:24

Hi @Cb700. I know this is an old tread.now so apologies. I've only just joined - specifically to read/get info on DE IVF at IB. Would you mind answering a couple of questions? Ania is our personal assistant and we are due to do the IVF in Jan.

Sine1 · 01/09/2021 11:21

Hi yes you can. I was out there a few weeks ago getting treatment and I live in the UK. Just check the gov FCO website on the latest travel details but as it’s currently Amber you don’t need to quarantine when you return as long as you’re double vaccinated, you’ve had a test within 72 hours of travelling back and book a day 2 PCR for when you return. Going there I think you only need proof of your vaccinations, but that may change so best to check. Was totally fine when I was there.

An0ther · 29/09/2021 17:07

I’ve been to ib once and ended in miscarriage. I’m just wondering if there is embryo transfer happening in uk? We are running low on funds and I would like to go to the same clinic for all treatment instead of elsewhere for injection etc. Does anyone know of anywhere in the uk, I’m getting old and time is a big factor.

ChoKuRei · 12/01/2022 19:44

Hi… Just wondering if anyone from UK is currently in treatment / about to start treatment at IB Alicante?
Many Thanks

ZXCasd1234 · 18/02/2022 18:54

Hi, we're not from UK, but considering IB. So far mixed impression from communication process: they miss the emails and results I'm sending, have to remind them what we discussed previously, they mixed us with different couple and send me their file with their names... That really makes me worried how they run the treatment and handle donors' records, tests, material, etc. So feedback from those who went the entire process with IB would be appreciated, especially for guaranteed program.

noopsie · 06/03/2022 18:24

We've just had our first DE transfer at Bernabeu (Madrid). Sadly it wasn't successful but we have nine other embryos so we're still feeling positive.

So far our experience has been good: the dr is lovely and really empathetic (a real contrast to the Gulf where we had 2 failed rounds of IVF with a horrible doctor). They asked for a lot of tests, and I thought the mammogram was a bit much, but now we've started it's going well.

We're going to try another embryo transfer on my next cycle (I'm moving back home to the UK at the end of March) and we're glad we're with IB. Happy to answer anyone's questions

Tintoverano · 06/03/2022 20:53

Hi @noopsie
I'm about to start DE treatment at IB, mock cycle starts on my March period (in about 2 weeks). I may have a few questions for you if it's ok to message you?

noopsie · 06/03/2022 21:28

@Tintoverano please do!
