Just starting out on exploring this avenue after four failed attempts at IVF. It still feels like a large leap to make as I still had hope that I might be successful with my own eggs but starting to come to terms with this and now looking into alternate options.

My clinic works closely with IB in Spain, and I'd love to hear experiences from anyone who has been through a donor cycle with them. How did you find the whole process? What worked well and not so well? Any advice that you can share?

And when were your cycles? @Worstusername

Worstusername · 18/07/2024 08:46

@Athina747 I am surprised, my understanding was they only used fresh donor eggs. On both cycles they kept me aware of donor progress and I was on the meds to sync. My first cycle was May 2022, second cycle (successful transfer) was July 2023

Thank you for your answer @Worstusername
My cycle was also July 2023 (sadly, biochemical), with them using frozen donor eggs, as I knew after.
I am so irritated by this, because I wanted fresh donor eggs, which is the best option.
Looks like they treat patients differently, which I think is not alright.

Also, did anyone have breakfast after the embryo transfer at IB Madrid?

PinkGold · 19/07/2024 19:49

@Athina747 no breakfast after any of my transfers (none have been early morning) but yes after egg collection. I have heard of people having holistic treatments before or after transfer in other clinics but I didn’t have anything like that.

Hi the difference is where you do the procedure. In Madrid they only use frozen eggs while in alicante as they have more donors on site they do fresh. this is what explained to us in the first meeting. Hope this helps
