witch our cat exam room has a nice window in it that's the cats can sit in and watch out of. Makes them more comfortable. There are some cats that are definitely not happy to see me but I try to do their exam and give them their vaccines quickly so they have a minimum amount of stress.

As for pets not being as portable as a baby-my dogs are super easy to take any where. Clip on a leash and off we go. I do tend to organize my life around them, but it's worth it. I'm more of a home body any way. And all my friends have dogs, so if we go to a friends house the dogs come with. Plus, I never have trouble finding dog sitters. :). I guess I've never really though about dogs or a baby being restrictive. They will just all come along with me.

Cute animals! I'll need to try and upload a pic of my two house bunnies.
So now 5dpo and still slowly losing my mind. Crazily symptom spotting and goggling.
I have had backache since yesterday evening. I'm trying to mark my English books and keep getting up to stretch out. This isn't completely out of the ordinary as I have quite bad posture but normally I would take a bath and take ibuprofen. What are people's thoughts? I have baby paracetamol but does this work with muscle pain?
Sending out positive thoughts to you Karen. Hoping and Pez, when are you due for new IUI?

Karendvm · 26/02/2017 13:46

cherry no ibuprofen! And stay away from heat around your abdomen. You can take Tylenol but that's about it. It's hard to not symptom spot. 3dpiui i had these crazy cramps during the middle of the nights. Based on the timing of my bfp that wasn't implantation. You won't get symptoms until you implant. This is going to sound crazy, but my biggest clue is my lactose intolerance goes away when I'm pregnant. The only other thing I've had is off and on cramps, mild ones. I kept telling myself to not read too much into things, especially because I'm taking progesterone. Make sure to keep a record of your symptoms though. It's good to be able to look back. I do tend to get cramps around the time of implantation. First bfp it was day 7, second time it was day 10, this time around day8-9. Everyone is different and every cycle it's different! I've never had implantation bleeding. Hope the next week isn't too bad for you! Go for a walk, maybe that will help stretch things out. X

Thanks caution, I know exactly what you mean, Ellie is like my best pal too, and great for my mental health! We have a very symbiotic relationship Smile

INeedNewShoes · 26/02/2017 13:53

Cherry - sorry to hear that you're suffering.

I'd Google 'paracetamol in pregnancy' and read the more recent thinking on this. They're thinking it's not as safe in pregnancy as previously thought, but it's not conclusive.

I've taken paracetamol twice during this pregnancy when I've had a high temperature which needed bringing down as having a fever can be harmful for baby. But I've decided against using it as a painkiller just in case the suggested links to cognitive disorders turn out to have some basis.

It's a minefield and I think it's always a case of weighing up the pros and possible cons of any medications in pregnancy as and when you need them.

Definitely no ibuprofen though, as Karen said.

Not that I seem to be able to hold a pee in for longer than 1.5-2hrs but I think LH surge is on its way, it's not quite there yet but hopefully in a few hours I'll use a digital and I'll get a Smile face cd17....fingers crossed

Oh yes that's certainly looking promising Pickle Smile

Pez82 · 26/02/2017 14:13

Cherry, last month at 5dpo I was feeling all sorts of things when I knew it wasn't possible to have proper symptoms before implantation. Both months I got my BFN I was definitely having cramps and other tingles so it's not that the pain isn't real and that we're making things up but we're definitely more in sync with our bodies, which is why the TWW is so torturous... I so wish we could hibernate during those 2 weeks!

My next IUI should fall on Thursday next week I think. I'm about to do the first opk of this cycle

Pickle, LH surge definitely on its way for you!!

Hoping, what about you? You must be really close now?

Loved seeing all your friends' pictures! I had a cat when I still lived in France but it has been living at my parents for the last 9 years. He loves hearing my voice when I Skype my parents! In London, all I have is a family of foxes and some occasional squirrels!

Right, back to gardening and building my new fortress!

StorkAhoy · 26/02/2017 14:15

Hi guys!
So AF has arrived in full painful flow. Which means meds start tomorrow!

I've read the zita west ivf book front to back, made copious notes, went and did an organic shop this AM and am totally ready.

In other news my ivf friend with twins is in hospital, her waters broke last night and they are now trying to hold off delivery for another 2 wks to get her to 34wks. Fingers crossed for her!

Karendvm · 26/02/2017 15:58

Good news for both you pickle and stork!

pickle162 · 26/02/2017 16:14

Boo for painful AF but yay for meds starting tomorrow :) how exciting.
Really hope they can hold off the birth for a couple of weeks x

HopingForALittleOne · 26/02/2017 17:38

cherry hope cramps easing up a bit I had sciatica last month during TWW and still have sciatica so expecting to manage it this month . I didn't have any painkillers but boy did I grimace a lot!

I should add I also have two cats and two fish - if I don't have a baby soon I'm going to end up with a zoo. They act like siblings ( sometimes getting on sometimes not and they pair up in different groups sometimes to have a go at one and other times all sleep on bed together) I love the busy- ness in my house and I'm lucky my next door neighbour is a dog minder and will always feed cats if need be)

So I think I've surged :) it's. it showing on clear blue but last month showed the night before on clear blue then not the next day when I had really strong ljnes on stick. I missed doing it last night and couldn't pee first thing ( pain with sciatica I just couldn't hold pot under me) so I'm going to go with surge today and call tomorrow for appointment

Smile

HopingForALittleOne · 26/02/2017 17:41

That should be not showing on clear blue

pickle162 · 26/02/2017 18:36

They really are a pain in the arse hopingaren't they?! Your last two cheapie show look definitely positive, the clearblues look like they r very nearly there tho-look
Like what I get just before my positive.

I've not been able to go long enough to get a concentrated enough wee 😣 Last poas wasn't very much so will just do again tomorrow at work when I barely have time to go to loo rather than constantly trying to go longer. Doh! Doh! Doh! Getting lots of egg white cf and left pelvic pain (altho that could be my ibs🙄) So I don't think it's far enough!
Thank fek for medication that I won't need to rely on my stupid body so much

HopingForALittleOne · 26/02/2017 19:21

Good luck pickle for tomorrow. I'm still trying to drink lots of water so my pee not always strong enough. Slightly relieved I don't have to pee in work tomorrow though just need to jiggle escaping from work for appointment :) then the TWW!

Karendvm · 26/02/2017 19:24

hoping I would definitely call that a surge. I stopped using clear blue for lh because I never got a good clear surge with them. I think an iui for tomorrow would be good timing. Good luck!

HopingForALittleOne · 26/02/2017 19:36

thanks karen eek I'm going to have that fertilisation video again tonight so I can visualise tomorrow lol x

Pez82 · 26/02/2017 19:38

Good luck tomorrow hoping, I should be just a few days behind you so we can join forces (along with cherry) to get through another TWOT!!

HopingForALittleOne · 26/02/2017 19:43

Yay pez yes hand holding with others helps :) I think you said possibly Thursday for your surge?

CherryBlossom100 · 26/02/2017 20:00

Ooh yes! Come and join me in the torturous time! I'm doing everything wrong this time as am fixating and convincing myself that every little symptom means that I'm pregnant, even though I usually have the symptoms anyway. I'm like, look a spot that must mean I'm pregnant (always get spots) ouch, backache, that's a sign too (often have backache).
The only thing that is different is the constant cramping and this is probably due to stress. Next month I'm sure I'll be calmer but my heart tells me I'm going to get a positive next week no matter what the brain says.
Good luck tomorrow Hoping. When is your blood test to confirm with the clinic, Karen?

Snorkmaiden85 · 26/02/2017 20:10

Eep, good luck everyone!

All the testing seems very stressful and complicated! Do the clinic talk it through with you? Is it worth me having a practice so I'm used to it when the time comes?

cherry how far are you through the TWOT? You're doing really well, I think I'm likely to lose my mind!

Karendvm · 26/02/2017 20:21

Yes snork absolutely get some practice in. That way you know sort of what your surge will look like. cherry I have to say I had pretty much constant cramping this time too. But I think I had it with a bfn too, so that's probably not much help. :(. I go on Wednesday for blood work. Get the results a day later. No bleeding and the cramps are quite mild and only every now and then. Not feeling like af should be arriving. Hoping that my hcg continues to rise. I think it's ridiculous that my clinic waits so long, but I guess they have a reason for it.

On a different note, for the past 2 weeks all I can hear is this constant chirping coming from a backyard neighbours house. At all hours. And I'm out with Molly in the middle of the night so I know it's all the time. It is driving me crazy. No chickens allowed in city limits, but I don't know if it is chickens. It's the middle of winter, I don't know what it is. I'm thinking of calling in a noise complaint. I can't even go outside it's just so annoying. Just needed to rant about that. Lol

Pez82 · 26/02/2017 20:25

Snork, yes definitely start testing for your surge every month - there's never too much practicing on this one!

Hoping, not getting the watery CM yet (which I get a few days before EW) so I'm thinking surge on thu or fri and IUI on fri or Saturday. I'm going for another scan tomorrow morning to see if my ovaries have decided on a dominant follicle (I had a few 11mm and 10mm last Friday)

My back is killing me but that's my fault for working like a slave all day creating my raised flower bed! I know I won't be able to carry heavy stuff next weekend so it had to be done today!!

tygr · 26/02/2017 20:25

Which OPK test strips do people recommend? I think I should practice too.

Just a flying visit to the thread - currently at my sisters' and have a three hour drive home ahead. Ugh.

pickle162 · 26/02/2017 20:29

Keeping everything crossed karen keep on rising hcg levels 😊 Good sign no af
How annoying, I'm a bit noise sensitive so that would drive me insane
