Pickle it never occurred to me they could get the donor back in! I think at LSB they do something incredible like 60 donations and then it's goodbye. Can't remember the exact number but watching the donor videos was enlightening. I mean the marketing videos, not a video of your actual donor. I guess if they do get them back in it would have to be quarantined again so there would be a time lag.

Hoping I remember someone being a civil servant too, but not who it was!

witchmountain · 18/03/2017 21:57

That posted too early. I have no issues with being mistaken for a civil servant, I appreciate what you do to keep the country running!

witchmountain · 18/03/2017 21:59

I totally get what you mean about them being full siblings Shoes. Who knows if they will feel the same way but then there's all sorts of things they might feel!

I would really like two but realistically may run out of time.

pickle162 · 18/03/2017 21:59

One of my friends I met up with today is told us today she is pregnant with her 3rd....wanted to poke her eyes out when she said oh it was an accident, we r happy but weren't trying Angryoh if only it were that easy!!

Pez82 · 18/03/2017 22:19

Thanks witch, I'll definitely make sure I don't waste any tomorrow! I was really struggling to push the plunger so took the beast approach and pushed way too hard 😖. I could feel some liquid going in so hopefully it will still do its job!

That's my plan too, to order a couple more vials from the same donor as I'd like to have full siblings if I'm in the position of having another child on my own. Ideally, freezing several blastocysts this month would be even better! I feel it would be nice for my children to share their story with a sibling and not feel alone against the world

Just spoke to my mum, I was nervous as I was worried she would feel too sorry for me but it was fine. I explained ivf isn't as bad as she thinks, that's it's evolved in the last few years and that I'm on low stimulation.

I said yes to a baby shower on 7th May today Pickle, and although she is a very good friend, if my ivf cycle doesn't work, I won't go as this would be way too much for me to handle!

CautionHormone · 18/03/2017 22:33

I think my laparoscopy is going to have to be postponed. Sad

PhoenixMama · 18/03/2017 22:35

Loving all your donor thoughts - thanks for sharing. Will go look at the other thread. Thanks Witch. I guess I look for things I would look for in a partner - I know I'm not boyfriend shopping Wink but, you know, I have good taste lol.

witchmountain · 18/03/2017 22:37

Oh no Caution, why, because of the HFM? Sad

PhoenixMama · 18/03/2017 22:38

Caution Oh no why???

Pickle & Pez I'm surrounded by announcements at the moment and one of them is having a termination because it was an accident. Angry

I'm constantly repeating "other people's successes are not my failures" but its sooooo hard sometimes.

HopingForALittleOne · 18/03/2017 22:43

Oh caution I'm so sorry to hear that. Gorilla 🦍 hug to you xxx

No offence taken witch xx

Well done pez on doing first injection x

Pez82 · 18/03/2017 22:49

Caution, oh no, I hope that won't be the case. Wait until Monday, maybe things will clear out quicker than you think. Let's hope your body works with you on this one xx

Thanks hoping, I feel quite proud and actually can't wait to do another one to improve my technique ☺️

CautionHormone · 18/03/2017 23:18

Thanks everyone, and yep, because of the HFM witch Sad. I've had the skin rashes since last Friday now, which is obviously over a week, and I got told they'd be gone within 4-5 days!
I only had a mild case anyways (I personally think), but I keep getting new spots come up on the palms of my hands... And it's not eczema, because I've never suffered with eczema in my life! I keep getting the odd random spots elsewhere too - on my thighs for example. They're popping up like nobody's business tonight, so I think a trip to the nurse at my GP surgery on Monday might be an idea... And then she'll of course tell me to postpone my surgery, the one I've been waiting bloody months for! Angry

Karendvm · 19/03/2017 01:10

Well crap caution. That really sucks. I hope it still goes on time. That just isn't fair. Big hugs to you.

INeedNewShoes · 19/03/2017 01:17

Bloody hell Caution - its about time you had some better luck Flowers

pickle162 · 19/03/2017 03:03

Wait and see what the Drs say on Monday before you destroy yourself over the weekend worrying (easy to say I know). The rash with hfm CAN last over a week and altho typically rash is on hfm it isn't uncommon to be on other parts of the body and agree doesn't sound like eczema as wrong presentation. Just remember hfm is extremely contagious so good hand washing and be careful who you are around, anyone immunosuppressed, young, old, pregnant you should avoid being around (sorry went into work mode)
Hope it clears up soon 🤞

pickle162 · 19/03/2017 13:33

Awe my friend just rang me, she said that she is so excited for me but she said her mother in law (who I've spent many a kids birthday party with, their ivf twins are 10,-she's around 78/80 ish) is so so happy for me and said she thinks I'll make a fab mummy and is so pleased I have decided to do this and is over the moon and sent me lots of luck and wants to have lots of baby cuddles!! How cute is that????!!! Made me cry, I thought it was so sweet

StorkAhoy · 19/03/2017 13:33

pez bravo! Re tonight, you may find holding the bottom of syringe with thumb and forefinger and then with the other hand hold the plunger with your thumb and forefinger, so essentially your left and right thumbs and forefingers are touching.

This means when you exert upwards pressure on the plunger you meet the resistance of your other hand and this ensures the whole experience is more controlled. Does that makes sense? If not let me know and I'll try send a pic!

caution bad news chick. Xx

So, I'm 6dp3dt and I tested and nothing showing as of yet..... not supposed to test till next Tuesday! But ah well!

Pez82 · 19/03/2017 13:59

Thanks stork, that makes sense. I've been thinking constantly about it and how much solution I wasted so about half an hour ago I carefully re-read the instructions and downloaded Bemfola app which has a video AND the squirt is normal!!! It actually says not to use the syringe if no fluid comes out when clicking the mechanism in. I feel so relieved!!!!
I'll definitely use your technique for the Cetrotide though

Have you got a beta testing booked with the clinic? My clinic says not to test and to wait until I have the beta done. To be honest, I don't think I'll want to test as I find seeing the blank screen worse than getting the phone call.
6 days post transfer is a bit early to test missy, I've got everything crossed for you.

Did you pay to get that picture of the embies? I can't stop dreaming of how a similar picture would look amazing framed and on display in the kid(s) room! And a great thing to use when the time comes of telling their story...

Pickle, of course you'll be a fab mum!! Anyone going through the trouble we are going through will be an amazing mum, I know it 😊

CautionHormone · 19/03/2017 14:02

Thanks everyone. Hopefully it doesn't stop me from having my surgery, but I can't see it going!! All the blisters have gone, and I'm just left with red blemishes/spot type things. I've done a collage of a photo of my hands on Monday and a photo of my hands today and they're much worse... I'll upload them and show you all!

Aw Pickle, that's so cute. It's always nice when someone says you'll be a great Mum... It's so nice to hear!!

Stork, you've got loads of time yet! Don't be disheartened Flowers

CautionHormone · 19/03/2017 14:04

The pictures don't show how disgusting it looks it real life 😂 But you get the idea! Like I said, I've got it mildly anyway, but I'm worried they'll see it and be like "we can't operate"!!

JigglyTuff · 19/03/2017 14:10

Sorry for barging in but this keeps coming up on Active Threads.

I was one of the people who lobbied MNHQ to get a donor conception board and I'm so pleased to see it so busy and so brilliantly supportive - it can be really lonely I know!

I wish you all enormous luck (obviously) and a happy ending to your journeys.

pickle162 · 19/03/2017 14:42

Caution what other symptoms did u have? Has it been very itchy? It could be something else called pompholyx eczema...they both look very similar

Awe thanks jigglytuff, it really has been a lifeline whilst on this journey. Got most of my knowledge from here :)

Pez I agree we will all be fab parent(s) but so nice to hear from a much older generation that even though it's not the conversational way and might be frowned upon by some that they see through that :)

StorkAhoy · 19/03/2017 16:40

pez I know Its early, but I'm gonna keep doing it!

So that image is part of Caremaps, which is essentially a monitored environment incubator which yes I paid extra for, and with it you get a video of their development which is totally amazing!

PhoenixMama · 19/03/2017 18:10

Caution That looks so sore! Try not to fret (easier said than done) but tomorrow's nearly here and you'll know for sure.

Pickle that is sooooo soooo lovely. That sort of support is brilliant!

pickle162 · 19/03/2017 18:20

Stork I love the picture of the kids, I would totally get that framed
When I was watching the replacement the main woman had her scan pictures made into different colours in a kind of Andy warhole feel about them... I want to do something like this or something that involves them being a bean into later scans then a bub (fingers crossed!!!!)

Phoenix I was so touched, I'm blaming the pill for making me blub when I was told 💕
I'm feeling quite impatient tonight- the planning has got me through, along with LH surge hunting etc I feel a bit lost
