Wow Phoenix that's amazing loss!!! I may just google that Smile

StorkAhoy · 14/03/2017 21:51

karen lord! Congrats and I understand it's scary! I just put two embryos back in and this is my greatest wish and my greatest fear, so, deep breaths!

Karendvm · 14/03/2017 22:44

THanks ladies. Next scan is next Friday 10 days from now. My doctor has ordered more beta hcg tests to see what that is doing. One day at a time.

kwick happy to hear your leg is better!

I want to write more but I'm so tired. Will catch up on everything tomorrow. You are all likely sound asleep anyway!

Latenightreader · 14/03/2017 23:32

Oh Karen how exciting!

Spoke to the nurse about my reaction to cerotide and she suggested a different needle angle might help. I went in at 90 degrees (they'd originally said between 45 and 90) and although it still itched and stung, it was a much smaller area so feels like a win...

pickle162 · 15/03/2017 15:15

Well AF is barely here-if I hadn't seen stuff yesterday I wouldn't have believed it. Clinic said ok to start pill on cd3 if af lasts for 5days...: didn't like to say well it's so light but oh well we will take the pills and hope for the best

How's everyone's day going?

kwick · 15/03/2017 17:24

🤞🏼for some BFPs

I am on way home in taxi - knackered. Will work from home tomorrow if my internet is working.

I've just spent the day at an offsite at my insanely wealthy boss' house. My god how the other half live!

Feeling very emotional today. Sometimes I can't believe this is where my life is now. Not that it's bad, just isn't at all what I had hoped/planned for.

Pez82 · 15/03/2017 18:29

Hi all,
Thanks for your kind words yesterday. Cramping and bad ache was still bad last night but has now stopped. No sign of AF yet, temp still holding up. Trying really hard to not symptom spot and preparing myself for the inevitable. Have had my ivf nurse appointment today - all those injections... it's all a bit overwhelming.

karen!!! As others have said, no matter the outcome you'll adapt and be a wonderful mum (mom Wink) - your beta will probably come back really high if there are 2 in there!

Phoenix, sorry to hear you feel a bit down today Flowers

Pez82 · 15/03/2017 18:39

I meant back ache (I don't think any ache is good)

tygr · 15/03/2017 19:19

Know how you feel Phoenix. Unmumsnetty hugs no idea what that actually means but I see it on here quite often

StorkAhoy · 15/03/2017 19:54

Pez don't worry, you'll forget everything when it comes to doing it! But they should give you detailed notes on how to do each type of drug, and YouTube tutorials are fab!

So what's your protocol?

INeedNewShoes · 15/03/2017 20:11

Karen - fab news about the heartbeat Smile. Time will tell for the other twin but fingers crossed that your next scan goes well.

No one's going to pretend that looking after two newborns is easy, but I do gather that there are lots of pros as the babies get just a little bit older and in many ways are more able to entertain themselves. I imagine you'd have lots of willing helpers for those early days Smile

I've got my 32-week scan/consultant appointment tomorrow. My baby is resolutely breech and no amount of asking him (I've decided I'm convinced its a boy) to move is working. I've tried asking him nicely and telling him sternly and neither is working Wink

My local NHS antenatal classes turned out to be a bit pants, so a bit of advice for you ladies is that when you get to the point of considering this, it might be worth booking onto a Daisy Birthing course (I've heard really good things about this) or NCT.

Pez82 · 15/03/2017 20:34

32 weeks!!! I have no clue about breech babies, is that too late for littleshoes to move? When is your due date again?

I've made a note of the Daisy Birthing course for later. I don't think I'll be able to give birth naturally even if I'd really want to 😩. I broke my sacrum and tail bone snowboarding 9 years ago and I have a massive ball of cartilage blocking the way (and yes it is still painful after 9 years but I've learnt to live with it)

Stork, so I'll be on 150IU of Bemfola from day 2 and then adding Cetrotide from day 6. 1st scan and day 6 and then every other day until EC on day 12, possible earlier. Nurse said that if I overstimulate they'll have to downregulate me a bit before egg collection and in this case I wouldn't be able to do a fresh transfer. Did you ask for ICSI? I thought that as I'm using donor sperm ICSI made no real sense but I'm not sure...

Pez82 · 15/03/2017 20:35

And yes I have all the instructions with pictures and links to online videos Smile

StorkAhoy · 15/03/2017 21:15

shoes little bugger! Here's hoping he shifts! But regardless, it will be, what it will be and it will be good!

pez I was on cetrotide, it's a tad fiddly, but all will be well! May I suggest liberal use of an ice pack to numb yourself prior to injecting?! Re icsi, no I didn't want to pay for that, but using the FCs sperm bank, meant that If there were issues in the defrosting then they do icsi for free, so I figured it would be fine, and both times it was.

And here are the kids the day they went in (hopefully now they are looking more like 100 cell division!)

PhoenixMama · 15/03/2017 21:26

Shoes I didn't realise you were so close! Congrats! Plenty of time left to turn still though. DD turned & then turned back lol until she finally went right. Have you looked into moxibustion? (I think that's what it's called) it a weird thing where the burn stuff next to your toes & the baby turns. I know a lot of women who it worked for. The one it didn't the chord was wrapped around the baby's neck so it couldn't turn.

Are you going to do NCT now? It's better for the connecting to a network of other people who are there with you. It's hit or miss but one or two allies are better than none!

PhoenixMama · 15/03/2017 21:27

Stork such an amazing pic! Everything crossed for you!

pickle162 · 15/03/2017 21:30

Wow stork such an amazing picture Grin

pickle162 · 15/03/2017 21:34

Pez hope tomorrow goes ok! Ru going to do another test before u go?

tygr · 15/03/2017 21:36

Stork your pic gave me fuzzies. Best of luck to you all. And congrats Karen too.

INeedNewShoes · 15/03/2017 21:43

Wow Stork - that's a really cool picture!

Pez - my due date is 10th of May but I'm due to be induced at the end of April. Baby has until 36 weeks to turn. After that there tends not to be enough room in there for them to turn. Mine never even goes exploring in that direction. Stubbornly head up (I can see a bulge at the top of my tummy where his head is). I'll be heading for a cesarean if he does finish up breech because you can't induce a breech baby (with induction the contractions come too intensely too quickly to be able to birth breech safely).

Phoenix - I haven't even heard of moxiwotsit... I'll do some reading on it! I am going to start doing the 'spinning babies' exercises but you need someone with you (due to risk of face planting from hanging upside down!) so I need to enlist a friend to help!

I'm not going to do NCT. I'm too late now anyway (they're all booked up). Locally it was a set of six sessions on Wednesday evenings for £250. I felt I couldn't justify that sort of money and I also do Pilates on Wednesday evenings which is important to me. I'd heard that the best thing most people get out of NCT is the friendship group and I've got that from my NHS antenatal class anyway.

Bear1980 · 15/03/2017 21:57

Wow lots of exciting news over the last few days. I had my first appointment with a consultant tonight. We have agreed on IUI with a drug to control/stimulate ovulation(I think because of the possibility of PCOS). Still a few things to sort out before starting though.

I have to get the results of a thyroid test I had last year as they like the tsh levels to be below a certain level. He also said I should get a higher dose folic acid prescription from my gp because my bmi is above 30, has anyone else had to do that? I am not sure whether I will need to make an appointment or whether a phone consultation will do?

Need to book appointment at clinic for hycosy and make a final decision on donor so I can get all that in place but not sure yet if I will be starting the first cycle in April or May.

All starting to feel very real now. I am a mix of excited and terrified of what's to come 😬

Pez82 · 15/03/2017 21:58

Amazing pic Stork (I just about stopped a couple of tears - life is truly a miracle when you see how it all started ☺️). You'll have to do something nice with this picture once the little ones are with you

Pickle, no I'm not going to test again. I pee on opks twice a day to see if they get darker (they don't) but that's pretty much it. Seeing those BFN is so heart breaking and temping will tell me once AF is on her way (getting cramps as I write!) - I get really nervous these days when I take my bbt!!! So let's see what tomorrow brings...

pickle162 · 15/03/2017 22:12

Awe that's so exciting bear where ru looking for donors? We may be cycle buddies :)

Pez completely get that, must be heartbreaking each time, not looking forward to that aspect WHATSOEVER

Shoes my sister was breach too, her baby was completely diagonal so was too unsafe to risk natural birth after he wouldn't shift at all. Naughty little babies :) didn't taydex have a c section

StorkAhoy · 15/03/2017 22:13

Ah thanks everyone! You should see the video of these little guys growing, it's awesome, but I can't upload it here.

I know that around here NCT is rated far more than the NHS classes, for the friends and for the nearly new sales they have!

Has anyone considered hypnobirthing? I'm seriously considering it!
