Just that really, had another stroke, end of life care plan in place. Got him transferred back from hospital to the nursing home where his pain is being managed and he's comfortable.
He's fighting this every step of the way but is slowly deteriorating.

I'm here on vigil all night so I'd appreciate some company....

Bless you all. May your dear dad rest in peace. He sounds like a wonderful dad. You sound like a happy family
with lots of love. I hope you and mum can comfort each other. Thanks

I was you 6 weeks ago. Whilst it is a truly dreadful time, it can also be special too. We played lots of music for dad, from dire straights to simon and Garfunkel and onto classical.
He had dementia and stopped eating and drinking.
His final hours were gentle as was his death.
Keep going. It is your last gift to him.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Dementia is cruel but what a peaceful, dignified end and you should be very proud of yourself to be there with him and how strong you were for your mum. I will keep you all in my prayers today .

ThanksThanksThanksGot FIL in a home with dementia - it's an awful thing to watch - someone once so vital... And my fairly healthy but elderly declining parents - seems so hard getting older and infirm... sending you love and hugs and amazing that you were part of such a loving peaceful passing... xx

Just checking in again to say thank you to everyone who posted.

I don't know you (well in theory I don't, in real life you might be my bestie LOL) but you seriously have no idea how much you've helped me over the past couple of days.

You're all wonderful, and deserve big gins

I hope you're all doing OK. Such a lot to deal with practically and emotionally. You've been in my thoughts. Be kind to yourself. I'm sure you were/are a great support to your mum and your dad.
