How does it feel tone in here?

I'm just pooling around on my iPad, wasting time, when I realized that Dadsnet is in the club section of mn and wondered how people felt about that?

Would it be more relevant to be in the parenting section, or does there even need to be a separate section?

Just curious, really, but it sort of feels like being a Dad is some kind of hobby group you might sign up to on a Thursday evening, when I suspect that really it's part of everyday life.

Sexual technics? Like lego Shock

BelfastBloke · 17/08/2012 23:36

Yes, there is a Rolling Football one that is longer.

But is length important?

Or is it the quality?

Inneedofbrandy · 17/08/2012 23:37

Spluttering my brandy out at share your sexual secrets

Inneedofbrandy · 17/08/2012 23:38

BB no point being quality if you can't feel the quality Wink

Hi, this just came up in my active threads, and pan, yes I did lose it with him (meow). I thought he was being really offensive. It's possible of course that I read it wrongly and it wasn't deliberate, but my impression was that he was on the wind up.

I don't think that has any bearing on other posters, male or female, just thought I should explain that yes, I did get really angry and upset with his posts. I've got to admit I'm glad they were deleted as I did think they were out of order.

LePan · 17/08/2012 23:39

Really Lemarch? You've read all of the threads in Dadsnet from start to finish? And you still think it's all about snide and footie? Hmmm...that think I said about the female psyche....no, this particular thread isn't a glory moment.

I honestly haven't been feeling patient, but there have been some very obvious trolls, which don't help - by obvious, I mean posters who don't post anywhere but FWR and get banned pretty fast, I'm sure everyone's seen them. They do wear you down.

I do think FWR gets unfair flack, to be honest.

LePan · 17/08/2012 23:44

LRD - I read a lot of the stuff, checked him a bit, but to no avail. Surprised it went on so long.

Somebloke · 17/08/2012 23:44

"Dadsnet consists of Football Chat and Snarky anti-FWR threads, Somebloke."

I've been away for a while; my understanding was that DadsNet was the place to go for sporadic football chat, one post threads where some poor soul proclaims how they're going to be a dad soon and WLTM other likeminded men, and tumbleweed.

The excitingly edgy D/N makeover passed me by.

FWIW, there's a thread about pic marketing special pink pens to girls, it's quite funny? If anyone wants some light relief that is the way to go. It's one of the few FWR threads that haven't been taken over by trolls lately, it's well worth a look.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 17/08/2012 23:48

pan - I have no idea how we'd have stopped it going on as long as it did. Either we ignore someone - which is not great and which risks upsetting people - or you respond, and then there has to be debate. There's no easy way to bring a stop to these things, I think?

Somebloke · 17/08/2012 23:48

I saw that, and ended up on the Amazon review page. I liked the review from the burly lumberjack who said the ladylike pens were too delicate for his huge horny hands...

LRDtheFeministDragon · 17/08/2012 23:49

some - oh, yeah, I loved him! Grin Genius stuff. I know it is an easy target but it's decent light relief.

Lemarch - no not at all. We like the under radar stuff. This exposure is unwelcome, to most of us. Really. We just quietly get on with stuff and don't have bunfights and deletions etc.

LRD, no it;s in HQ hands to act. As they keep on saying, report, report but on ocassion nothing happens.

maryz, I do ignore and report, but actually, we are frequently asked to argue against (for example) rape myths, rather than having offensive posts deleted. It does make it difficult, because you can tell that most posters are genuinely just wanting a discussion, but some are stirring it. And HQ will typically say, no, they won't delete anything that might be an honest misaprehesnion if it's being well argued against.

The issue is, some posters look genuine if you see only one or two threads they're posting on. But if you see more, you realize they are deliberately getting off on the process. It's really nasty. But I know it doesn't immediately look obvious what's going on.
