There are quite a lot of football fans on MN, and also loads of football-haters. If we hide here in Dadsnet, none of the detractors will find us. But if they do, they are welcome to come here and moan.

You don?t have to be male to post here, of course. (No-one would say women can?t post in the Dadsnet section, just like no woman would EVER say men aren?t welcome on Mumsnet?)

Footy fans please sign in with

  2. Which team(s) you loathe.
  3. How you are getting your kids to follow the correct team.
  1. A thought on the season so far (Premiership/Championship/Champions? League/FA Cup/League Cup/(el clasico?)/World Cup bids.

I'll conform

  1. Norwich
  2. Ipshit, and presently West Ham.
  3. His mum supports Spurs so I guess the correct team would be Arsenal. As for my opinion I don't care who he supports as long as it isn't the team who happens to be winning. Norwich would be nice, but I suspect social services might get involved if I tried to inflict that on them. 4)It's a pity Dalgliesh has revived Liverpool because it would be good for football if they went down. Ferguson has done well to get the best out of the knockings at United, but he should retire. Paul Lambert is God.
Truckulente · 12/02/2011 14:23

What a goal!! Rooney!!

Pan · 12/02/2011 14:59

heard it on my car radio. ( well, not actually heard 'it', just the commentary....). It's A Beautiful Day in Evil Winning Empire land,BB!

So it's all back on the Arse now. Best wishes...

BelfastBloke · 12/02/2011 16:09

Bollocks. Sweet strike by rooney, though.

Having watched the derby in a fake irish pub attached to a hotel, i am now going to stay away from the other scores until match of the day.

Pls don't tell me beforehand.

  1. 2dcs-have not quite got football yet but we are a long way from Deepdale so guessing a prem team will get them before PNE do.
  1. Shocking season so far and not getting any better this afternoon
KenDoddsDadsDog · 12/02/2011 17:01

15 mins to kick off! DH very happy thanks to Rooney. What a goal.

MavisEnderby · 12/02/2011 18:33

Chippy,my Hull City supporting son says "sorry".He just got back from KC.

Fingers and toes crossed for Forest against QPR tommorow

chippy47 · 12/02/2011 18:50

Mavis-pretty sure he is not that sorry to get one over an ex-manager! Sounded like we got what we deserved. Nothing!

MavisEnderby · 12/02/2011 19:58

Nevermind chippy.

KDDD have just seen Rooneys goal.Sheer brilliance even though am not big Shrek fan.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 12/02/2011 20:00

I'm sulking after a 2 1 defeat. Sad

Pan · 12/02/2011 23:10

have very clear memories of Denis Law knocking them in a la Rooney, cpet with a bit more consistency.....

KDDD - not a good result.

Preston's season is a bit baffling, but if it's any consolation winning in the Div 1 is better than losing week after week in the Championship.

Nailbiting.

Down to 10 men, just got equaliser.

(Note to self, never do ironing whilst listening to match on radio. If team equalise you may accidentally burn self whilst celebrating goal.)

eeore · 13/02/2011 18:52

MavisEnderby

The best result for all the top clubs I thought.

BelfastBloke · 15/02/2011 13:51

Anyone know what channel the Spurs match is on tonight?

Midnight. Settling down to watch the highlights with some whiskey after a long day.

Pan · 16/02/2011 00:05

my money would be on Big Joe Jordan. Gattuso hasn't seen him angry and without his teeth.

BelfastBloke · 16/02/2011 00:22

God I love Peter Crouch. I've always loved Gattuso as well - he's making me laugh tonight.

Another draw snatched from the jaws of victory for PNE. Not looking good at all.

BelfastBloke · 17/02/2011 12:17

Ahem.

I know!! Well done you lot!! In some places you out Barca'd Barca.
But, I am checking out of this Hotel California tonight, as it seems is trucky. Even the tumbleweed might not bother blowing through!
take care yourself.
