There are quite a lot of football fans on MN, and also loads of football-haters. If we hide here in Dadsnet, none of the detractors will find us. But if they do, they are welcome to come here and moan.

You don?t have to be male to post here, of course. (No-one would say women can?t post in the Dadsnet section, just like no woman would EVER say men aren?t welcome on Mumsnet?)

Footy fans please sign in with

yes they are making a space at Ford Open as we speak - will manage the prison team to 3rd in the prisons league ( behind HMP Manchester A and B teams.)Grin

BelfastBloke · 23/01/2012 22:02

We have a chant "Robin Van Persie, he scores when he wants".

Yesterday watching the Citeh Spurs game in the Arsenal Supporters' pub, they were singing "Harry Redknapp, pays tax when he wants."

Ha! Ha!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 23/01/2012 22:19

Just watching the court illustrations of him. Very flattering !

DanFmDorking · 23/01/2012 22:23

Its easy to see why Arsenal lost, they went down to 10 men!

Or as the pundits said "bringing on Arshavin"

Panfriedstardust · 23/01/2012 22:40

loved your 'rubbish all over the Reebok'.

BelfastBloke · 23/01/2012 23:32

The chant for Nani was:

"Shit Michael Jackson,
You're just a shit Michael Jackson...."

OP posts:
Panfriedstardust · 24/01/2012 00:01

yes that was from the youtube piss-take of the "Downfall" final scene, where Hitler ( a mad ManU fan) has just learned Ronaldo is going to Madrid - "Nani? He's just a poor mans Michael Jackson"

Youtube "downfall" if you haven't - there's an excellent one about Chelsea missing the penalty in the Euro Final against us. (Hilter is a mad Chelski fan there).

BelfastBloke · 24/01/2012 06:06

Downfall is the gift which just keeps on giving, isn't it?

Liverpool v Man Citeh in the Carling Cup. The Scousers 1-0 up from the first leg.

Andy Carroll just isn't trusted any more, is he? Arsenal need a cut-price striker (although the way we play wouldn't really play to his strengths).

OP posts:
Panfriedstardust · 28/01/2012 13:35

just watching the game against the Scousers - they are actually boo-ing Patrice Evra every time he touches the ball. And boo-ed pretty widely not just a couple of thickos. They are really shamelessly racist.

Panfriedstardust · 28/01/2012 15:25

and Dalgleish reckons all of the fans can consider themselves well-behaved...

(rubbish result of course..)

DanFmDorking · 29/01/2012 01:30

No income tax,
No VAT,
No Premier points off Man City,
In the dock,
an' face so pale,
'Arry Redknapps going to jaaaaaaaaaaail.

BelfastBloke · 29/01/2012 07:21

Is that from the Tuesday Club podcast, Dan?

Nice

So much to talk about!

Where do we stand on the Terry issue? Should the legal process over-ride the apparent strenght of feeling amongst the other England squad members? i.e. innocent til proven guilty, so just keep quite and 'get on with the game'?

And KenDodd - is there a Champions League place in sight for The Black Cats? And can we have Martin O at ManU when The Wizard eventually retires?

BB - nice sneaky win there! But weren't Blackburn just so lacking in defence? ( I base this in the highlights - vP was being invited to score, as if he needed it.)

Bring on the Chelski today. Really hoping Paul Pogba keeps a place in midfield - saw some U-tube focus on him from Tuesday night's game. We all knew he was exceptional, but could he do it at PL level? Well, yes.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 05/02/2012 12:05

Innocent til proven guilty but I cannot stand John Terry.
Think we have a good little player in Maclean. Til someone steals him with a big money offer.

Panfriedstardust · 05/02/2012 12:16

Terry - trouble is the threshold for guilt is 'beyond reasonable doubt'. The threshold for players in the squad is 'we know what he is like'. BBC footie correspondent yesterday was saying he had seen various messages passed round amongst the players, which are unlawful to reveal as yet, and they were hardly 'supportive'.

changingman · 05/02/2012 21:34

ive been a man u fan since 1976 and a fan of my hometown wrexham since then too. I am also a footy fan. I love man u and have been to many games, league, champs league, carling cup, fa cup, etc but also appreciate other team players such as gerrard, oxlaide chamberlain, van persie, bale, aguero, silva, etc... lambert is a great manager as is o neill and swansea are a fine footy team to watch. gutted we didnt win todays match vs chelsea but am happy with a very gutsy well earned point. as for wrexham we have every chance to go up into the league this season

changingman · 05/02/2012 21:35

as for chelsea lampard is a good player, i love drogba. never rated terry and i feel anyone supporting him right now deserves a ban!

Oblomov · 05/02/2012 21:43

What about the fan who handcuffed himself to the goalpost. ha ha.
The Man U, Chelsea 3-3 game today was a corker.
As spurs fans that suited us just hansomely, thank you very much.
So, who is going to get the 4th spot?
Arsenal and Liverpool finding form. Chelsea struggling a bit more than those 2, or so it seems. And even Newcastle in with a chance, but i can't see it. Dh would prefer Liverpool to get it over Chelsea and Arsenal, obviously, But i can't see that happening. I said Villas Boas would get the sack, but dh thought that was coming anyway.

changingman · 05/02/2012 21:45

My bet?
Man U - Champs
Man City - Runners-up
Spurs - 3rd
Arsenal - 4th
Liverpool - 5th
Chelsea - 6th

Panfriedstardust · 05/02/2012 21:45

changingman- can I put all of that to music? Another MUFC fan round here will be massively appreciated. Maybe today wasn't the right sort of game for Pogba, but I think he needs to get a bit more action - he has yet to sign a contract.

Oblomov · 05/02/2012 21:46

I can't take my eyes off David Silva. Dh is the same. The man plays the most beautiful football. Ever.

changingman · 05/02/2012 21:47

going down?
Wolves
B'burn (keane will lose his job before end of season)
Wigan

changingman · 05/02/2012 21:48

Pan - pogba is a class player with class potential. as was morrison and ferg was the right type who could have managed him. however if we can keep him, fryers also good potential. feel sorry for berba though
