Done the tried and never trusted technique of buying up all the favourites in each category, realising I've spent 240 credits, and then whittling the sum down to 100. Never works. Smile

After my dubious results last year I am thinking hard about my choices. Having been an avid supporter of the Yates twins since they were Juniors, my loyalty naturally lies with the lovely Simon...so maybe it is my duty NOT to pick him, to try to minimise the risk of him falling off at some most inopportune moment?
I will sleep on it, and then pick some random names tomorrow!

@MrsAvocet I know how you feel, I went with not picking Cav so as not to jinx him. My real problem as @Pan2 says is overspending, whittling down and now not actually having someone who I think will win. I'm going to have to make some changes. 😄

Just seen an article in the Guardian where Cav says he is "optimistic" about adding to his list of wins....... hope he isn't tempting fate ! Could this be his last year at pro / Grand Tour level ?

There was a time (about 10 years ago) when I actually knew a little bit about this sport. I remember being the first person I'd heard to describe the TdeF as being like chess on 168 wheels, and also spotting G as a future GC rider, the latter I was pooh poohed for.

Now I don't know anything, I've just picked a random selection of riders I like. They only came in at £78Mn so I'm going house hunting with my change. And yes, I picked Cav.

A bold move might be then to not have Cav if everyone else has got him. I'm not swapping though, nothing good ever comes of the last minute team substitutions.

I was torn between Cav and Caleb, but last time I picked Caleb he let me down terribly by going home before the mountains and I am still cross with him. Though my son thinks Cav will do the same this year. I'm not sure though - I think he is out to prove something and may well have his eyes on the points jersey. (Watch me be proved completely wrong within the first week...)

I've not gone for Cav, and I'm working hard at resisting the last-minute tinkering which we know isn't good for team spirit. ( I still like to think of 'my team' as actually being a team on the actual road. Sad, I know.)

I may have resisted the temptation to choose riders entirely based on who has the funniest names. Which would probably lead to better results than my actual choices. My team name is a joke based on events at a professionnal meeting I attended in 1994 in Budapest, btw.

Excellent team names I can see.

Just checked that all my boys are signed up as starters (after a few years ago when I picked mine early and one or two then dropped out before the day...)

Looking forward to this as a welcome distraction from other bits of life. Plus the MN league has enough of us in there to see some real variation throughout the Tour I expect (I'm also in another league which has far fewer people in it so the one who's top tends to stay on top..)
