thanks all for the comments. i will certainly bear this in mind for the future and be more vigilant with the listings . sadly waaaay past student days and in the provinces too ....

dinny - I think also it is because ballet dancers are paid peanuts (even the big stars) and opera singers (the international names) are expensive.

finally our day to see the Nutcracker has come around and it was FAB - and thanks to CD and MrsB for the seat recommendation, as they were perfect!
