Will be brief, daughter due to be sent down. Any one have a clue what to pack? Do we pack a bag? I've looked on line and it's a bit vague . Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi drinks

Sorry been away from the thread for a while. Pesky RL Wink

Sorry DD had a bit of a hard time but glad things seem to be a bit better. Great she has made friends and wants to do something positive on her release. Also great you've had your phone call! I know the email system can be a bit crap. It depends on which staff happen to be screening and dishing out the mail Hmm

As far as I know, remand prisoners are allowed daily visits. Convicted prisoners have 3 or 4 a month depending on the prison. The first prison I was in (privately run) it was 4 a month, but you could request extra visiting orders at any time and they were always granted. I averaged two visits a week. The second prison (HMP run) you got 3 a month and that was it. No extras whatsoever.

Oh. And tell DD The Strangers say hi back Grin

drinkswineoutofamug · 13/02/2017 17:42

Thanks cat . Yep RL keeps getting in the way.
She phoned again today, woke me up off my night shift bobos .
Thank you for your advice. I will hopefully find out more tomorrow. I am telling myself I can still see her weekly. More for her sake.

I have only just found this thread and wanted to add my support.

I work (occasionally) with ex-offenders and one thing I know for sure is that having a loving and supportive family makes all the difference to rehabilitation. You are doing amazingly.
