Anyone watching the new series of the Irish Traitors?

The Irish version is low rent compared to Claudia and uk traitors . Its just rubbish tasks and just boring now. Paraic O so full of himself and definitely Carla needs axing. Its just soo drawn out. Every round table the same . Voting alike. Just poor.
Completely bring on Celeb traitors. Im not even bothered watching next week

Are the tasks actually worse than last year? And Siobhán McSweeney, whom I very much like, looks increasingly bored and as if she’d phoning it in.

I think they are worse this year and that's saying something. I think they are trying to hype it but its sort of fading ( and only on season 2) . Centra collab etc etc ie wanting it to be a national institution.. im more looking forward to tempting fortune next Tuesday night on c4. My 12 yr old loved it as we did when it was last on ( about 2-3 yrs ago)

Dontlletmedownbruce · 16/09/2026 23:19

The producers are definitely playing with them I think. Janet would have been vindicated if she was murdered, but the way the whole day was drawn out it was like they were giving time for Paraic to change the narrative.

The not investigating who killed Janet and where and when has me baffled. Even if they were silly enough to ignore the words that came out of her mouth, they should have been thinking who had access etc. That would have cleared DJ. It's utterly bizarre to me that they weren't retracing her steps

JeremiaBoogle · 18/09/2026 19:58

Only just managed due to one thing or other to see the episode (and impressively not see any spoilers).

All I can say is, what the actual hell! Are they all dopes!!!! Finding traitors due to chance from ridiculous "facts" has sure made them.all the most illogical faithfuls ever seen 🤣 literally have been fed two massive clues and they haven't even considered them. And that response to DJ saying he was no where near Janet waa nuts - like there was a murder in plain sight - maybe, just maybe it would be worth figuring out how Pauric O was "set up".

Or alternatively maybe they could actually think about the fact Janet told them all she thought Pauric O had murdered her in plain sight - and what a fecking great coincidence it was that it was actually a murder in plain sight happening that very night and that Janet happened say she'd be murdered in plain sight by being danced with (even though - according to Pauric and Carla - no dancing actually happened) which gave the traitor - who could possibly be Pauric - the most opportune change to set him up.

I do see a bit of theory online that Ian knows and asked Pauric by pretending to joke that he should recruited him and they'd win together.

honeyrider · 19/09/2026 14:41

Ian's definitely playing Pauric O.

I think a lot of the problem is the dynamic with King Pete. I think he was the one who dismissed DJs comment on not being near Janet. All his minions immediately follow him. And then all that rubbish about him saying no one taking a shield and they all go along, all afraid to question him. I don't think he actually is that domineering I think its one of those situations where if enough people are fawning over someone, it pushes that person into a leading role even if that's not their original intention. Now that Kayleigh is no longer in the fan club things might change and his authority might be questioned.

Ian's definitely playing Pauric O.

I very much doubt it.

Ironically, they are aware that they know how the games work, they are quite good at reading signals in everything from Siobhan's clues about the next task to being murdered in plain sight, yet are useless at thinking independently.

The pack mentality where they deide who they should vote en masse and who should be up for banishment, is sucking the joy out of the game entirely.

Pauric O is terribly controlling. He will undoubtedly get rid of Carla and recruit Ian to win together. While I think Carla is still in the game more to luck than tactics, I absolutely despise how they have picked off all the women.

I suspect Carla was told that she could not recruit a main suspect again (as she did with Aoife) because it is entirely ruining the game.

My kid watches it so I do as well but I find it unenjoyable viewing. Even Siobhan looks pissed off with it. How many times has she said at the round table that it is not a team game yet they continue to follow the herd. It is particularly annoying to hear them say afterwards that they 'knew' X wasn't a traitor yet they voted them off.

PS DJ had quite the crush on 'big' Pete!

JeremiaBoogle · 20/09/2026 01:23

I think if Ian knows and had the plan to get himself recruited, then we'd see it in his to camera bits.

He might claim it after the fact, just to save face - and not appear to be the most gullable man in Ireland sweeped away in the his bromance.

Unless it's edited really badly, and he actually said, "I trust Pauric the most, and as a traitor I know he'll recruit me next."

JaneJeffer · 20/09/2026 13:28

Finally caught up. I had fallen way behind.

What the hell is wrong with them? The traitors could kill someone right in front of them and they still wouldn’t believe it!

I wasn’t sorry Janet got killed because she had the conversation skills of a Mumsnetter. What was she getting so angry about all the time?

Kayleigh is getting on my nerves as well.

I hope Diego wins the whole thing.

JaneJeffer · 20/09/2026 22:06

Pauric is so annoying

honeyrider · 20/09/2026 22:12

Pauric thinks he's some sort of mastermind and too smart for the rest of them.

JaneJeffer · 20/09/2026 22:14

Ian is fickle

JeremiaBoogle · 20/09/2026 22:21

I haven't a clue how anyone is coming to their decisions. Not even sure a psychologist could figure the reason for this lots choices.

What in the name of hell was Pete doing telling Anna to take €2k and then telling everyone.

I just want Pauric out. I like Keighley purely for her dedicated to disliking him, but she disappoints me with the fact she doesn't bring it to the round table.

JaneJeffer · 20/09/2026 22:31

I don’t understand why Anna suddenly decided to vote for Ian or why Pauric gave out to her for voting for Ian?

JeremiaBoogle · 20/09/2026 22:36

I think Pauric gave out to Anna because gave her the dagger and wanted her to vote for Pete.

That and the fact he's a dick.

User451278 · 20/09/2026 22:50

They are an odd bunch.
Pauric thinks as PP said that he's the cleverest in the room. He's coming across as completely controlling rather than manipulative.
Anna thinks she has some sort of second sight and can 'read' people. Instead she is coming across as self important and unhinged.
Peter is coming across as quite deranged and a bully. His personal attack tonight was out of order and i'm surprised it wasn't stopped before it was.
Carla is there by luck more than manipulatiion.
Kayleigh despises Pauric and for that alone I like her.
Diego, quite honestly, comes across as a bit simple, likeable and harmless.
I would like to see Kayleigh and Deigo win because they come across as the nicest of the remaining players but they won't.

Mathair2 · 20/09/2026 22:57

That was hard watch. Fucking hell they are all jumping to mad conclusions!! Im really annoyed everyone is staying quiet about who they believe are the actual traitors in the hope they get to the final and get the traitors out then! It makes for really poor viewing.

JaneJeffer · 20/09/2026 23:02

Ian is on Uncloaked saying he knew who the traitors were but he still kept them in Hmm

They are all full of it.
He thought Pete was a traitor too though as he voted for him? Did he say anything about that?

In fairness, I’d be coming up with a face-saving cover story before appearing on Uncloaked, too! ‘Yeah, I totally knew, I was just playing the long game…’😃

I thought the most uncomfortable moment of the whole evening was on Uncloaked when Kevin started doing his Pete imitation, talking about himself in the third person etc, and Ian didn’t seem to get it…

I’m still laughing at the Pete speech. ‘Pete is back! Pete leads! You’re a sheep!’

UncleColm · 20/09/2026 23:40

I don't get why they're not voting for Carla when a number of them have said they think it's her.... I suppose they let the 'bigger voices' speak. Keeping the head down is a way forward in the game.

Pete is a total loose canon...a terrible Faithful. A big distraction. I think he'll probably be voted out tomorrow.

I think they'll murder Kayleigh this evening. A pity... she's my favourite player in there.

That would leave the 2 Traitors, Anna, Diego for the finale.

What was Anna thinking taking that money?! So easily persuaded....the psychology of it is interesting.

Dontlletmedownbruce · 20/09/2026 23:40

Pete was so bitchy, totally crossed the line into nasty personal insults towards Ian. They are all just playing a game ffs, no need to put down the man's character. They can't kill Pete now cos they need him to be suss for a bit longer. I like Kayleigh but I'd say she will have to be murdered. No one suspects her as a traitor and she is hoping to come for Carla. I don't want Diego to win or Anna, definitely not Lord Pete. I'm team traitors this year. Tonight was a bit frustrating.

'Anna what the fudge cake' is going to be a phrase used in my house going forward I suspect. Kids were laughing at it

JaneJeffer · 20/09/2026 23:02

Ian is on Uncloaked saying he knew who the traitors were but he still kept them in Hmm

Think I said he'd do that yesterday. He had to save face.

Did he explain why he didn't reveal in his to camera bits that he knew Pauric was a traitor instead of saying how he trusted Pauric the most.

Boolabus · 21/09/2026 09:07

Ian did say last night in one of the piece to camera bits that he thought Pauric was a traitor he was definitely sticking to him because he suspected him and wanted to stay safe from murder. I think a few are pretty sure it is Carla and Pauric but it is hard at this stage because if you vote them out they can still recruit which leaves you even more unsure on who has been recruited. I think the minute there can be no more recruitments or murders they will be gone. Can't see either traitor winning it. I think Kayleigh will be murdered. Diego has said to camera he suspects Carla but is staying quiet on it atm to stay safe from murder. I think this is the issue as more series of traitors air, they know banishing traitors is the game but now know doing it close to the end means recruitment so you are best siding with them to be safe from banishment and then getting them at the final round table. I think producers need to think how they can move on from this game play which is understandable but frustrating for the viewer.

JaneJeffer · 21/09/2026 21:58

Pauric is over egging the pudding tonight
