but genetically diverse, not like us poor inbreds

I do boggle at the idea of an Irish family with no family member living in another country - did the person/programme that wrote the thing not get told about the centuries of emigration?

DeanElderberry · 07/09/2024 12:08

Do we know who the author is?

JaneJeffer · 07/09/2024 12:08

You can tell there was no immigration in that family because no one sent them money for slates

JaneJeffer · 07/09/2024 12:10

Emigration even

What "bullies" are you talking about?

When the catholic church were at their height it provided cover for some bullies that were keen to enforce dogma that came from on high. Not necessarily the religion as such but some people sought power through it.

Today, I see those personalities look for power through enforcing progressive and trans dogma. The likes of Amnesty looking to cancel women voices, compelled speech, activists hijacking of educational curricula and other institutions. They think they doing Gods work with shoving this self-loathing agenda down kids throats

PoolQuandry · 07/09/2024 12:17

That's quite a leap.

DeanElderberry · 07/09/2024 12:23

They probably can't get insurance for the thatched roof either. I wonder what happened to the tree, and why they let it grow that big so close to the house in the first place.

In fact I'm being reminded that the only thatched house with leaded windows I know is a newish (2000s) build on a rural site that did have some big trees.

Speculating madly, but if the people who built it (who were born and raised in a European country) got nationality, they might have decided to go all-in and disown their former families and eating habits in order to shape their children's lives in an ultra-pure Hibernian style.

So maybe they are all just wearing the same style of wig. Why is adult female A person wearing a skirt over her jeans, it doesn't look very comfortable?

That's quite a leap.

School curriculum seems to have made a few leaps in the last while...

DeanElderberry · 07/09/2024 16:39

We'll probably get a lot more of this post-Cass if the UK is dropping the ideology from the curriculum but there are a lot of trained people and targeted texts ready to go.

It will be like that time about 20 years ago when the UK noticed that railings between roadways and footpaths in urban environments increased pedestrian injuries and fatalities and advised local authorities to stop using them. Practically every area engineer in Ireland, with a budget to spend by year end, bought up the UK surplus stock which was being sold off cheap, and installed it all over the place. I knew a couple of cases where town councillors with shops came to close to brawling in the street to stop them being used.

Town councils should never have been abolished imo - too much centralisation of authority, not just wrt to politicians but also administration.

Aranknickers · 07/09/2024 16:47

I feel sick to my stomach that an sphe book actually featured the words "stupid, with stupid breasts"...
What exactly is the governments vendetta against native Irish children & girls.. Fucking hell.
So thats 3 different books with major red flags

  1. The book featuring the infamous family A
  1. The book which says Irish kids have "white Irish privilege"
  1. The book which refers to "stupid, with stupid breasts".

Should sphe education be handed over to parents at this stage & taken out of schools?

SnipSnipMrBurgess · 07/09/2024 17:02

Anyone who reads anything by Gript or espouses that abortion rights are bad for women are people who are idiots.

Aranknickers · 07/09/2024 17:15

@SnipSnipMrBurgess as parents we would know fuck all about the indoctrination that is taking place in our schools if it wasn't for Gript. They have done massive work uncovering three seperate sphe books containing woke brainwashing ideology.
Why hasn't primetime done an investigation into those books? Radio silence from RTE, the country is furious but all we get from RTE is censorship & propaganda. Gript is the only news source I now subscribe to.
They publish what I want to know. I always had my suspicions about the free school books, now they are confirmed. How dare any school publication print "stupid, with stupid breasts"

Sunlightinclouds · 07/09/2024 18:14

That Gript article is from June 2023 and it says it was a draft. Does anyone know if it made the published version?
@SnipSnipMrBurgess@SnipSnipMrBurgess

Sunlightinclouds · 07/09/2024 18:22

@SnipSnipMrBurgess
Posted above too soon. If the Gript article is accurate, it is accurate iykwim.

You will rarely see papers such as the Times or Independent highlighting these issues unfortunately.
The Independent was several days behind Gript in reporting on the Family A article which leads people to look elsewhere, as they lose trust in media sources that were once considered reliable.

Aranknickers · 07/09/2024 18:37

Does anyone know if a planned protest against the sphe is in the pipeline. If not, it should be right outside Leinster House & hopefully will be picked up by international press.
Gript posted that article regarding "stupid breasts" on their facebook page this evening

DublinFemale · 07/09/2024 19:32

@Sunlightinclouds

I don't think the 'white privilege' did end up in the books after all.

Gript made it known and it was brought to parent's attention.

The free book scheme seemed to be a good thing but it is looking more insidious.

Lesson to be learned government don't do anything for the greater good.

Aranknickers · 07/09/2024 20:44

A parental March to leinster house is needed as regards the sphe. If us parents were still paying for the books we would have more clout.
The books suddenly became free at the same time the sphe curriculum changed. I seriously doubt it's a coincidence & the fact they are kept in school.
I am furious at the "stupid breasts" reference they planned to roll out to first years in the midst of puberty

noreasonbehindit · 07/09/2024 20:53

The spectator is all over it here in the UK

Yes, a lot of our ideologues got their training from the UK and did a cut and paste job to embed stonewall thinking into our institutions. There's no excuse for it now though. The Cass report is as available here as it is in the UK but they still seem determined to steamroll this ideology despite growing evidence of the harms being done to young people. Do we always have to wait for a tribunal a few decades later to see what is in front of us...?

Yes, it is strange that 'family A' made their appearance the year that those books were provided free.

I think the mask slipped a bit with that book. 'Family A' represent what activists embedded in the Dept of Ed and NCCA think of the average Irish family who don't buy into divisive identity politics and gender ideology. They don't want those cabbage eating oafs sticking their nose into their indoctrination of children with the new religion

Sunlightinclouds · 07/09/2024 21:58

Just an observation.
I saw this mentioned online and I hadn't noticed it earlier.
The tree, with the sawed off timber is a bit strange. Why would the person, who was tasked with coming up with the cartoon, add this to the drawing?
I am guessing that it's to show that they are neanderthals who have little regard to the environment, but the little details make it seem as if a lot of thought actually went into that drawing.
It's all just bizarre.

I could be wrong but are these books not approved are at least part of a list of books which is compiled by the DoE issued to schools as teaching options.

I am sure I heard on news that any parents not happy with the depiction should contact the publisher, could be wrong though. The publisher didn't write the book.

Ultimately this boils down to the actual writer and the person who quite happily approved the final draft.

It was very thoughtfully planned and appears it was designed to try to insinuate that Irish culture is anti all the hot topics.

The tree is one aspect the second is the cow and methane gas omissions and the damage to the environment. They will open up the topic.

Lots of little nuances in the page.

I actually think the sudden ban on mobile phones is actually a bit sinister too. While I agree they are a huge distraction to learning are they also banning them to stop students from secretely filming what's being taught during sphe or to take pictures of books /worksheets handed out to "supplement" learning??
Is the ban on mobile phones actually in place to protect the department of education 🤔
