Justice , at least, was had for Ashling today.
I'm sure it won't take away the pain, but I hope her family and friends can take some solace from it.
RIP.

Ywlala92 · 09/11/2023 22:19

@halfpasteleven my heart was in my mouth awaiting the verdict. Thank God it was the right decision. So tough on her family.

eggandonion · 12/11/2023 18:51

We didn't have so many storms in the god old pandemic days...
So many murders in the news is very sad.

FuzzyCaoraDhubh · 12/11/2023 21:05

Cork has gone to orange. It looks like a bad one with many areas on a red warning. Stay safe, everyone.

eggandonion · 12/11/2023 22:51

My kids are all supposed to be working away from their home bases and have early starts tomorrow. I wish they were at school and I could keep them at home! I think they would like to stay home too and eat toast...

Taytocrisps · 12/11/2023 23:33

By a stroke of good luck, I booked tomorrow off work, so adult DD and I could do some Christmas shopping. As it happens, DD has a bad dose so we may not be going anywhere. But neither of us will have to venture out early.

Stay safe everyone. Hope the storm is less severe than anticipated.

eggandonion · 12/11/2023 23:36

You can stay at home and write lists! I write a lot of lists.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 12/11/2023 23:42

I'm in a red warning area but it's eerily calm at the moment. Hopefully it won't be as bad as predicted - it usually isn't! And then we're blindsided a couple of weeks later by a storm that had no warnings and batters us!!

Stay safe everyone

I love a good list.

Stay safe everyone

Ywlala92 · 13/11/2023 06:02

Wow this storm is hitting hard. I'm afraid to check the damage done outside

Taytocrisps · 13/11/2023 06:32

The power has just gone here. That wind sounds really furious.

Ywlala92 · 13/11/2023 06:42

I don't want to jinx myself but think my area is over the worst of it 🤞

FuzzyCaoraDhubh · 13/11/2023 07:39

It's very quiet here in Co. Cork. Nothing going on at all.

Happierwithouthim · 13/11/2023 12:32

Red warning in Kerry, ds has a private bus to school so that did operate one hour later than usual so another hours pay for childminder.

dd's school decided they needed to do a safety audit at 10am and classes would begin at 11:15am and her bus is operated by bus eireann so I'd to leave work to take her to it. Unless other parts of the county were hit badly it was just a windy night in my part.

eggandonion · 13/11/2023 12:43

It was a nice bright breezy morning in Cork after a wet windy night. One lot of washing on the line and another load in the machine.
Its now wet and grey and breezy. 😡

Ywlala92 · 13/11/2023 14:49

I'm in a red warning zone and defo felt it was warranted

eggandonion · 13/11/2023 15:37

If anywhere is in a red warning area they should take it seriously. Once branches are falling the roads are dangerous.

theDudesmummy · 14/11/2023 18:09

Wind ripped five solar panels off the roof of our shed and destroyed them (Galway)

eggandonion · 14/11/2023 22:47

That is a pain. The climate is against us.

FuzzyCaoraDhubh · 15/11/2023 09:32

Well, we broke the climate.
Wow theDudesmummy, it must have been absolutely awful where you are.
I read that it was the most intense storm of the season so far.

halfpasteleven · 15/11/2023 22:34

It feels way too early to have had this many storms...

JaneJeffer · 17/11/2023 19:08

The victim impact statements gave me the shivers. Rest in peace Ashling.

Ywlala92 · 18/11/2023 05:14

@JaneJeffer they were so sad!! They were right though, he doesn't seem to give a fuck or be remorseful. Horrible evil man. RIP Ashling

FuzzyCaoraDhubh · 18/11/2023 09:58

It's absolutely harrowing. He is every parent's worst nightmare. I'm so sad for them all.

LadyEloise1 · 18/11/2023 10:08

My heart goes out to Ashling Murphy's family and friends.
It is incomprehensible.
Her young pupils,
will have been so bewildered and frightened by her sudden loss in such awful circumstances.
She sounds like a remarkable young woman.
Ireland's loss 🥲

As for the evil scum.
Words fail me.
