Oh great, more warm rain!

LadyEloise1 · 29/09/2023 15:37

Gorgeous day today.
After Wednesday !!!!

Anyone listened to Liveline today ?
Really interesting contributions from listeners re what Irish women should be included in a museum celebrating Irish women and their achievements.
Very informative.
Worth a listen if you missed it.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 02/10/2023 11:50

October already Craicnetters. Part of my job is payroll, done weekly, and it's shocking how fast the weeks fly by!

Waiting for the heatwave 😊

eggandonion · 02/10/2023 12:32

It's full on autumn since the storm last week. Trees seemed to change colour overnight here.
From August on we have a Christmas countdown in work. It feels like about 3months since last Christmas 🤶

JaneJeffer · 02/10/2023 18:48

Just watching the Irish Citizenship Ceremony on the news which I love because the people always look so happy to be here.

eggandonion · 09/10/2023 14:37

Its quite pleasant weather now in the afternoons when the mist clears! I have had coffee outside 3 times since last Tuesday. I wonder what weather will happen next.
And will the grass stop growing.

JaneJeffer · 09/10/2023 14:39

It's lovely but for the fecking wasps

FuzzyCaoraDhubh · 09/10/2023 15:14

I'm wearing a woolen with a cowl neck and I'm going to be fully baked in approximately ten minutes.

DeanElderberry · 09/10/2023 16:12

I've been cutting grass - wearing a T shirt and pouring sweat. I do intend to light a small fire in the wood burner in an hour or so. Part of my dinner is going to be three tiny courgettes from the garden, a big handful of fresh herbs, and a large bowl of raspberries that were warm from the sun when I picked them. And the Jerusalem artichokes have set some flowers in response to the sunshine, so I have a little bunch of small sunflowers.

honeyrider · 09/10/2023 16:29

I'm in Spain and it's 27°C, too hot for me to do anything bar sit in the shade and enjoy a cocktail or three.

FuzzyCaoraDhubh · 09/10/2023 16:32

Ooh! Enjoy that @honeyrider 🍹

That sounds lovely @DeanElderberry
Well done. Things grow in my garden in spite of me. We do have berry bushes. They are very hardy.

eggandonion · 09/10/2023 16:35

I need to get my daffodils planted. I also need to buy the daffodil bulbs...
It is a really pleasant afternoon. I should have gone to the garden centre in slacks and a top.

I see Chuck Feeney has died.
He was the philanthropist who gave billions to good causes including promoting peace in Northern Ireland and to Irish universities via his Atlantic Philanthrophies.
He believed in "Giving while Living".

Ní bheidh a leithéid ann arís.
May he rest in peace.,

eggandonion · 09/10/2023 19:12

It must be lovely to watch what your money is doing. Americans love philanthropy!

halfpasteleven · 15/10/2023 06:19

Hard luck to the rugby team..

They kept our spirits high in what was a tough week with other news stories here and abroad.

I felt so sorry for Johnny- not the way he wanted to end his career but what an inspirational player.

I agree.
Beidh lá eile againn. But it would have been fantastic for him and deservedly so, to finish on a high.
He has done us proud, both on and off the pitch.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 18/10/2023 11:44

Gutted for the rugby team, I know someone has to lose but still...

Best of luck to anyone's DC getting junior cert results today 🙏

FuzzyCaoraDhubh · 18/10/2023 12:45

Send lifeboats please 🌧🌧🌧
Thank you.

eggandonion · 18/10/2023 12:48

Daughter in Dublin says its very grey there but not raining. Is this true?
Pascal sheehy will be very busy today.

FuzzyCaoraDhubh · 18/10/2023 12:52

Paschal will be paddling and doing the live report at the same time.

eggandonion · 18/10/2023 13:10

Micheal lehane is standing outside leinster house in his suit. It isn't raining.
I would have panic bought bread yesterday if id known how wet it would be.

FuzzyCaoraDhubh · 18/10/2023 14:02

Me too! It's worth two Brennan's, egg.

eggandonion · 18/10/2023 14:09

That should be a met eireann thing. One two or three sliced pans of warning. Or how likely takeaways are to deliver in six foot floods.

FuzzyCaoraDhubh · 18/10/2023 14:24

Absolutely! Yellow warning = one Brennan. Orange warning = two Brennan's
Red warning = three Brennan's. Plus graphics of Brennan's on the map for clarity.

JaneJeffer · 18/10/2023 14:27

I love it 😂
