I seem to be the only person in Ireland who didn't get to meet Springsteen at the weekend. Also, how is it possible that he looks so good at the age of 73? I didn't go to any of his concerts but I hope those who did enjoyed it.

I drove past the Merrion Hotel yesterday and loads of people were standing outside. I think Bruce must be staying there. I was disappointed because I thought Ireland was one place where stars felt comfortable and weren't confronted by fans as in other places and could move freely enough.

Did anyone read about the leaked report on the Irish hotels and how they're heading into a crisis due to a lack of beds for the holiday season? I have zero sympathy, well for the hoteliers anyway. Sure they're well paid to house the refugees. It's the tourists I feel sorry for, and all the knock-on services who will suffer. Although it always baffles me how people can holiday in Ireland for any more than a night, the price of everything is off the scale! We have family to stay with so no hotel costs but absolutely everything else is crazy expensive. Lunch out, admission to places etc (not to mention petrol to drive here and there) you'd want to be shitting €50s

Yes! Singers need to be either very cool (effortlessly cool) or very sexy or very camp. Or all three. And a touch of crazy. And good at performing. Ideally, with a good voice and a song with a good tune. Something catchy or breath-taking.
