Usually it is about Easter that i get the year right when I work the date. I don't think I managed to get 2021 into my head.

eggandonion · 31/12/2021 22:28

Write the date in work even.

Happy Healthy 2022 to all the Craicnetters on this thread.

Happy New Year to all the Craicnetters. Had a spontaneous outdoor gathering last night with our neighbours at 11pm till 1 am ( holiday homes so no traffic cul de sac) and it was lovely - warm night , keep our distance Bit of booze and such a feeling of optimism at last.

That's nice! I said hello to mine on the road for a few minutes, but it was good.

Went to bed early last night but the weather was awful here, the wind and the rain kept me awake all night. Missed the park run this morning, which is probably just as well anyway as getting over a stomach bug.

honeyrider · 01/01/2022 16:10

Happy New Year everyone.

Iblinkedandiamold · 02/01/2022 16:21

Cobra Kai is very bingeable. I've been watching the new season all day and loving it.
I mean my house is a mess but who cares. I am loving it.

Iblinkedandiamold · 03/01/2022 18:54

The tree is down, the decorations all put away. I really hope this thread isn't on heasing for Yr 4 by the time I put it back up again.

LadyEloise1 · 03/01/2022 20:16

Gosh @Iblinkedandiamold I never take my tree or decorations down til after the 6th January - Nollaig na mBan / Womens Christmas / Little Christmas.
In this globalised world I want to hang on to our Irish traditions. Smile

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 03/01/2022 20:17

I'm the same here. Not until after the 6th!

Iblinkedandiamold · 03/01/2022 20:20

I am back to work on the 6th otherwise I would've left it up. I want the house clean and tidy before I go back.
I still have to finish off the decorating I was doing too. I left it unfinished to put the tree up.
I hear the ASTI are calling for schools to remain closed. Hate to say it but the ASTI usually get what they want.

eggandonion · 03/01/2022 20:59

I am fed up with the tree, but will tolerate it for 3 more days. It is heading to the gaa for chipping on Saturday.

halfpasteleven · 03/01/2022 22:07

Definitely ready to take down the decorations and tree but will wait until the 6th too.

There's a meeting tomorrow re the schools reopening - I can't see the ASTI changing the outcome of that seeing as Eamon Ryan has already said schools will reopen..
Even though hepa filters haven't been installed on all schools over Christmas as promised Hmm

Iblinkedandiamold · 03/01/2022 22:32

My head is fried researching those bloody things.
We got a grant but have to find our own and it had to meet x,y,z.
My Facebook ads are all for filters now. Grin

Before we closed, every second phone call was someone selling hepa filters. One of our board members is knowledgeable about this stuff and he says the ones that cost a few hundred euros are unsuitable for rooms as large as classrooms, he reckons more like a grand up apiece - he's doing the research for us.
