Thank you for sharing that with us threadneedle.

LadyEloise1 · 08/10/2022 15:26

Yes thank you @threadneedle

halfpasteleven · 08/10/2022 18:55

Thank you Threadneedle.
Still trying to process how it could happen.
I agree Janejeffer, it feels like the whole country should be in mourning after this event.
Or is it a reminder to grab life by both hands and enjoy it to the full..
I know so many shops in so many small villages up and down the country would have been busy at that time on a Friday as people topped up with diesel and treats for the weekend. I'm just thinking aloud here - life is hard to comprehend at times.

JaneJeffer · 08/10/2022 19:34

That's the thing @halfpasteleven we can all picture it so clearly in our local garage.

It's such a horrific incident. Everytime I hear the news It's worse. Such a devastating thing to happen. People's lives ruined in an instant. I just hope the deceased died without much pain.

eggandonion · 08/10/2022 20:05

It is any garage in any town, any one of us could have been caught up in it. The poor families and friends. Looking at it, it is a miracle there weren't more people killed such a busy time.
Its impossible to think of any way to help, from afar.

I thought the apartments behind the garage had a gas leak?

It's absolutely tragic those poor people whose life has changed in an instant.

The Emergency services in the country have been through the mill lately.

Great to see cross border emergency services working alongside ours, the more hands on deck the better.

Iblinkedandiamold · 09/10/2022 13:41

Horrible seeing the pictures released today. So sad. May they rest in peace

JaneJeffer · 09/10/2022 13:52

I'm in tears looking at them. It's heartbreaking.

They're heartbreaking photographs of the victims.

Life changed for their loved ones in the blink of an eye.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 09/10/2022 19:50

Yes the photos today have really upset me. A mum with her son and a dad with his daughter. And the others. None of them old at all. Just desperately sad isn't it 😕

eggandonion · 09/10/2022 20:16

The little girl looks so sweet, hard to imagine a week ago she was getting ready for school tomorrow. So many lovely people, gone. In such a small community too.

halfpasteleven · 09/10/2022 20:49

My reply below was the go fund me link..
I don't know what the delay in looking at it is!

The photos make it all seem a little more real.. still hard to fathom that it has happened. They all look so active, healthy, happy people just being a part of the community..

First funeral tomorrow.. it's going to be a long, hard week.

I'm so shook today - can't put it out of my mind.. kept walking into rooms and thinking what did I come in here for? They are all in my thoughts today and will be for some time to come..

eggandonion · 09/10/2022 22:06

I think they are very cautious with fundraising links, I have a friend who works in financial security and reckons fraudsters even target tragedies.
Which is a whole extra layer of horrible.
I think the photos, all different ages and appearances, it's like everyone's neighbourhood. Its just impossible to process.

EmeraldShamrock1 · 10/10/2022 14:45

The photograph of the little girl starting school really hits hard, her lovely butterfly gilet, school bag, nervous excited hands ready for the new start.

JaneJeffer · 10/10/2022 15:21

Strange it got deleted @halfpasteleven. I have posted fundraising links before without any problems. I fear there's someone with an agenda in these parts and using the other thread for nefarious purposes.

Yes. Absolutely heartbreaking.
Beautiful people, all of them.

EmeraldShamrock1 · 10/10/2022 16:32

There are no words for the senseless loss and devastation brought to Creeslough.

May the families find strength and support in each other.

JaneJeffer · 10/10/2022 18:20

Delighted that Slavomir Gierlowski has had his sentence extended. He's a dangerous individual. How his partner can stand by him I do not know.

The photo of the wee girl starting school hit me hard too and then to hear they were there because they were buying a cake for the mother. So tragic. The poor families left behind. Heartbreaking.
@JaneJeffer that at least is a bit of good news. Seems like there is nothing but Tragedy in the news lately.
