The case in Dublin seems to have collapsed, the lady who was stabbed by the teenager.

LadyEloise1 · 07/04/2022 15:52

That poor woman. My heart goes out to her family and friends. Sad
People I know work nearby and would use that route to commute.
I think that the courts / judges need to be much much tougher with sentencing so it acts as a disincentive.

The case in Dublin seems to have collapsed, the lady who was stabbed by the teenager.
I think asking the jury to decide on the state of mind of the teenager is a hard ask. I feel very sorry for Uransetseg Tserendorj's family, but in a different way sorry for the accused. Not because of what he did, but he was already a heroine (?) addict by the time he was 14. What kind of a life could that kid have had and what kind of a future.

As he has pleaded guilty to manslaughter, can he not be sentenced for that ?

sillysmiles · 11/04/2022 15:40

Personally I think this is only part of the solution and we also need to start treating addiction seriously as a medical condition. But unfortunately, our health service is already so over stretched this isn't an option.
I'm sure there are other facets of solution too that lie within education and social welfare and social society - but all of these require investment.

The news doesn't get any less terrible, does it!
Have a nice Easter everyone, it has been a long time coming.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 15/04/2022 18:04

Happy Easter egg and regulars on this thread!

At least the Covid situation is improving, but yes, these have been a difficult few weeks at home and abroad.

Iblinkedandiamold · 18/04/2022 20:05

I ate a small creme egg easter egg today and now I feel sick. Chocolate doesn't agree with me but it's so nice and moreish.
I ate the creme egg yesterday, only one creme egg came with it. I thought there was usually 2. Must be wrong.

eggandonion · 20/04/2022 17:39

Im trying to work out what is happening to mumsnet, it has gone different.
I am working my way through a chocolate cake, it isn't very nice but im still doing it!

Iblinkedandiamold · 20/04/2022 18:13

I don't like this. I don't like change. Oh I can add pictures, that button is easy to find.
I am watching the Gilmore girls. I don't remember any of these eposides but I remembered all the character names

JaneJeffer · 20/04/2022 18:20

I'm watching the Connacht under 20 final on TG4 just in case anyone was worried about my culchie credentials.

Just found out that another person from my year at school passed away. Only in his early 40s. So sad. Incredible talented guy, gifted artist.

eggandonion · 20/04/2022 19:11

That is very sad, always a shock to lose a contemporary.

You might like Marvellous Mrs Maisel on Amazon Prime. Same writers. Very funny (and swearier)

Iblinkedandiamold · 20/04/2022 20:51

I did not know they were the same writers. I love that show too. Haven't watched all of the new season yet. Also watching Bridgerton

JaneJeffer · 21/04/2022 12:43

I've been trying to post on my Great House Revival thread but MN won't let me Confused does anyone know if the Monaghan couple managed to save the old posters?

OP posts:
eggandonion · 21/04/2022 12:45

I don't remember them being mentioned again after the man saying they would cost 1500 euros.

JaneJeffer · 21/04/2022 12:53

That's what I thought @eggandonion pity but they probably couldn't save them. I thought they might be able to spray them with something and varnish over them as a feature.

It's a beautiful sunny day, I had great plans to go out for a walk but my legs are aching after doing a lot of walking on holidays, the hills and steps nearly killed me, I might go in a short while and stretch the banjaxed muscles.

LadyEloise100 · 21/04/2022 17:10

@JaneJeffer
I had terrible problems trying to log in yesterday. I couldn't go to the "Watching" section or the "I'm On" section. I couldn't post anything either.
I have had to name change again - well add a digit or two to be able to log in.
Mumsnet Towers were doing some refurb or upgrade on the site. Messed quite a few posters up apparently according to postings on the Site stuff section.
I emailed Mumsnet and Lily was most helpful.
It seemed to sort itself out but I did have to name change to sort myself out and be able to post again.

JaneJeffer · 21/04/2022 17:21

Yes there's been loads of problems and strange happenings @LadyEloise100
