Ah I too am gutted about Taylor, I love the foos! Same age as my DH, it doesn't bear thinking about.

I'm glad you're all on the mend @Thethreecs especially your DD it must be so hard with her being non verbal

DH cut our grass today, thankfully because I just read the weather is to return to shite form next week Hmm

Iblinkedandiamold · 26/03/2022 20:36

No don't say that @LifeInAHamsterWheel I was looking forward to the next two weeks at least being nice. I want to be outside with kids.

halfpasteleven · 26/03/2022 20:55

If you follow Carlow weather on socials he is always very very accurate, he is saying April may start off like January should have!

I can't get my head around it.. because I want the sunshine to stay Hmm

Iblinkedandiamold · 26/03/2022 21:12

How can the weather in Ireland change so dramatically. It's very strange isn't it. No wonder we're all getting Covid.

JaneJeffer · 26/03/2022 21:34

Go away with the weather forecasts. Ye're worse than the Mirror 🙉

Is their anyone left in the country who hasn’t had it. Half of my school are off with it.

Joolsin · 29/03/2022 23:57

I finally got it last week. Really thought I was immune at this stage, working in the germ pit that school has been all this time. I'm on day 6 now, feeling absolutely fine. My only symptoms last week were a bit of a headache and a bit of a sore throat and a sniffle that I thought was the start of the pollen season. I did an antigen and, bing, positive immediately. Symptoms gone the next day, like when you think you're getting a cold and you don't!!! Still positive on Sunday, that was day 4. I'll try again tomorrow and see what the story is.

Ilady · 30/03/2022 02:17

CliffsofMoher - I must be one of the few people in the country who have not got COVID yet. I know several people that have got it over the past few weeks. Some people are still sick with it. I know a few house where theirs one person is just waiting for a positive test because everyone else in the house is sick.
I hope this cold weather talked about won't happen or be as bad as some people are saying.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 30/03/2022 06:57

@CliffsofMohair

Is their anyone left in the country who hasn’t had it. Half of my school are off with it.
Me 🤞

It's in the house again. My other teenager has it. So that's two of us out of five who got Covid.

eggandonion · 30/03/2022 08:22

I work with two other people, neither has had it.
One lives with his wife and sociable dd in her twenties. The other lives with his wife and teenagers. Both wives work outside the home. So massive scope for infection, yet nobody has had it.
In our family everyone has had it in the past few weeks, having dodged it for two years. And all fully jabbed.Sad

JaneJeffer · 31/03/2022 19:21

Anyone watching The Price of Everything on RTÉ1? It's nonsense.

OP posts:
LadyEloise1 · 01/04/2022 10:05

I watched it.
I realised I don't know the price of milk, bread or butter Blush

Does anyone else think the lifting of restrictions on mask wearing was a little premature as doctors and nurses in hospitals are overwhelmed with the numbers of people affected by Omicron, absenteeism because of it etc and are asking for the rules to be changed.

eggandonion · 01/04/2022 10:14

Yes, I had my positive test eight days after masks were abandoned. I work public facing.
Im back at work, in a mask. I never stopped wearing it. I give people evils who don't, but I think more are wearing masks than a month ago.

eggandonion · 01/04/2022 10:22

I moved electricity and gas to electric Ireland in January, it was the best deal at the time. The whole switching thing seems like a total con.
All the hours on insurance sites too. Grrrr.

halfpasteleven · 01/04/2022 21:38

With all the increases it's hard to know what's best.
It's also hard to be motivated when renewing insurance !

LadyEloise1 · 05/04/2022 11:06

Anyone else on here upset at the EU Court ruling on the use of mobile phone and other technology data being used by the police investigating crime ?

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 05/04/2022 11:45

Yes. It is upsetting. I was aware that it was under consideration and I was fearing this outcome. I haven't forgotten his hideous crime or his unfortunate victim.

LadyEloise1 · 05/04/2022 12:24

To me it doesn't make sense.
Surely if it helps in criminal investigations against those behaving negatively in and for society, when the vast majority of people are not criminals it is a ridiculous judgment.
The criminals have more rights than the ( majority) law abiding citizens. Sad

eggandonion · 05/04/2022 12:54

There was a lot of technological evidence in that case, wasn't there. He had a payg phone in a name similar to an acquaintance, and lots of info on tolls. I was struck by the number of expert witnesses who were young women.
That poor woman, she deserved justice along with her family. I hope his wife and children are having a happy life.

LadyEloise1 · 05/04/2022 17:23

Horrific for Elaine O' Hara and her family and for his wife and sons.
I despair that the EU believes that an individuals's right to privacy trumps the safety of a community.

eggandonion · 05/04/2022 19:58

Surely phones are tracked when international drug shipping is being followed. Is real time tracking different to records?

sillysmiles · 06/04/2022 15:39

I really don't understand the EU ruling. Why can't your phone records be used in a criminal case?
Even removing the Elaine O'Hara case, companies hold so much information on people anyway, what is the problem with it being used in a legitimate criminal investigation?

LadyEloise1 · 06/04/2022 16:07

@sillysmiles
My thoughts exactly Sad

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 07/04/2022 11:31

I completely agree, it sounds bonkers. But as the saying goes, the law's an ass... God help Elaine's family Sad God help society in general, he is not the sort of person who should be out among us and it does seem like he'll get out. A friend (not a close friend) is a detective who worked on that case and I remember them saying at the time that G O'D was a slippery f*ck. Real cocky, had researched all his 'rights' and was smirking at them all the time telling them that it wouldn't float and if he did go down he'd appeal immediately etc. Now it seems he'll get out and certainly has the brass neck to go back to his predatory ways.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 07/04/2022 12:03

That really is worrying. And it's appalling.
Thanks for the insight Life. The law is an ass indeed and it's useless if it doesn't protect society from the likes of him.
