Hope you get to rest and that Covid is mild @Iblinkedandiamold

Iblinkedandiamold · 20/03/2022 15:39

I am bored already. Hate being stuck inside. I mean I could go into the garden but what's the point.
Also I have neighbours so I better just stay inside and watch netflix.

LadyEloise1 · 20/03/2022 17:58

I hope you have a mild dose @Iblinkedandiamold. Thanks
What symptoms do you have ?

Iblinkedandiamold · 20/03/2022 18:00

@LadyEloise1 nothing really. I had a head cold last week and I was really tired with a headache but I tested negative right up until Saturday. Now I just have a cough and a stuffed nose.

eggandonion · 20/03/2022 21:22

I think everyone i know who avoided it for two years is getting it now, like a cunning plan. Take a potter in the garden in quiet times, and get some fresh air. The forecast is good.

Iblinkedandiamold · 20/03/2022 21:36

Thank Goodness I have a garden. I would hate to have no access to the outside.
You know only for I was testing regularly I wouldn't have known.
Definitely felt worse last week which must have been the start of it really.
What can you do though, unless you have a positive result you can't take time off work and get paid for it.
I think it antigen tests might be late in picking it up. .then again maybe I did just have a head cold last week and it's a coincidence. Hard to know isn't it.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 20/03/2022 22:04

Oh no blinked what bad luck after all this time. I hope it stays a mild dose. So many people around me have it now, some for the first time and some for the 3rd time!! And we've not seen the fallout from St Patrick's Day or Cheltenham yet! I do think we'll all get it soon, this new variant seems to be very transmissible. Stay safe everyone (can't believe we're still saying that 2 years on)

Thethreecs · 21/03/2022 01:18

We're all positive here 😭😭😭 except youngest dd. She's the one with only 2 vaccines, on a fuck ton of drugs to keep her alive. We barely went out over the 2 years to protect her mainly.

Of course I'm glad she doesn't have it. However it started with dh beginning of last week, it's worked its way down us all, I don't know how she hasn't got it.

I'm suffering really bad, the cough is just so bad that I can't sleep, I'm in awful pain with it. The headaches won't go away, my eyes are burning off my face. It feels like a bus ran over my face. Then the V&D OMG this is terrible.

I tested negative for 2 days before a positive, but had awful symptoms. Got a PCR yesterday and they rang today, I could hardly speak with the cough, missed alot off what the woman said.

I asked about sending dd into school, she said she could go once negative.. Seems strange to me but it's this right? Considering I tested negative for 2 whole days, eldest dd tested negative for 3 days but obviously had it, other kids didn't have symptoms when tested positive but are showing them now . Youngest dd school is a special needs school. Bus driver not happy taking her with us all having it but I can't drive as I'm so bad and dh is worse. It's over an hour drive each way. The school keep saying to send them in unless they have any symptoms but the minute I keep her off whether a close contact or symptoms in the past they freaked out with her missing more time. It was handy the few days off school but now with them going back I can't get hold of anyone to ask.

Iblinkedandiamold · 21/03/2022 09:19

@Thethreecs that's awful. You've been hit bad. I wouldn't send her to school. Close contacts don't have to Isolate if they have no symptoms but why risk it. If the bus driver catches it then who will drive the bus.
I know the school will say to send them in. I think you posted about that dilemma before. You as a parent have to do what you feel is right for your family. If you are all sick then how can you get up and get her ready for school even.
Don't mention Covid to them just say you're keeping her off because you are all sick.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 21/03/2022 09:28

Get well soon Thethreecs. It sounds like an awful dose. I would keep your dd at home if it meant you had an easier time of it too while you're recovering.
Ds had it last week but he was quick to test and isolate, so the rest of us have dodged it...for now.

LadyEloise1 · 21/03/2022 14:22

@Thethreecs
Sorry to hear you are so unwell.
I would certainly keep your dd at home.
Why put others at risk - I am shocked by the school's attitude.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 21/03/2022 15:16

I'd also say keep her home @Thethreecs

I think all the confusion now is because the government have basically said 'nothing to see here' anymore but yet we're also hearing from the hospitals that they are overwhelmed! It's so conflicting!

It's absolutely rampant in my town I know more people that have it now than any other time before.

I hope everyone that has it is better soon

Iblinkedandiamold · 21/03/2022 15:27

@LifeInAHamsterWheel it's all over the place here too. Every second person has it. Thankfully I am fine, I am currently painting my sitting room. Started at Christmas but never got around to putting a second coat on it. I should be doing course work but I am avoiding it. Grin

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 21/03/2022 16:22

Good woman blinked you need to do something constructive, the course work is too much for your brain!! I painted lots of rooms during Lockdown1, I'm glad I did it now that I look back.

Iblinkedandiamold · 21/03/2022 16:33

I did that too during lockdown 1. I did my bathroom about three times.
I actually enjoyed lockdown 1. It was like a novelty and I was lucky I had my parents and sister near by.

Iblinkedandiamold · 22/03/2022 16:44

If I am still positive after seven days do I still isolate? It doesn't say online. It says to isolate until 48 after symptoms go unless it's a cough. The cough can last weeks.
Cough is my only symptom at the moment thank God. I'm sorry of wondering if I have Covid at all. Grin

Thethreecs · 23/03/2022 11:43

Thanks all. Thankfully I kept her off as she tested positive today. That would have been a shit show if I had sent her back after the break, all those children with serious health conditions. Her close contact list would have been huge.

@Iblinkedandiamold the Hse told me when they rang that if still testing positive after 7 days to still restrict movements until a negative antigen test.

Also if still have symptoms but testing negative you can return to normal. They said some symptoms can last months, so once you get a negative you can stop isolating.

Iblinkedandiamold · 23/03/2022 11:53

Perfect thanks. Just have to wait and see so. Sometimes the line is very faint and other times strong so I think I am testing too much. My hallway is looking good though. My house is going to be gleaming by the end of this.
Hope your daughter doesn't get it too bad.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 23/03/2022 15:27

Wishing your DD a very speedy recovery Thethreecs. I hope she won't be too sick with it. I can't imagine how it must feel to see her sick with it after minding her for so long.

LadyEloise1 · 23/03/2022 16:22

Does one always have a cough with Omicron ?

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 23/03/2022 16:26

I saw this on Twitter yesterday and thought it might be useful as a guide to the latest symptoms.
My ds had a stuffy nose, sneezing and sore throat.

Thread a naoi: heading toward year three
Iblinkedandiamold · 23/03/2022 16:35

I tested positive a week after my "symptoms" appeared.
I had symptoms of a mild head cold. Tickly cough, stuffed nose, headache (not too bad) tiredness and ache in limbs.
However the tiredness could have been from coughing at night. I wasn't exhausted. The aches could've been from excersise.
I still gave a cough now but I nearly always have a cough.
@LadyEloise1 I don't know which version but some children had no symptoms. Most had head cold symptoms.

LadyEloise1 · 23/03/2022 17:31

Thank you

Iblinkedandiamold · 24/03/2022 19:02

I want to break free. I want to break free.Grin I've run out of things to paint. I will have to start cleaning the house and doing course work tomorrow.

eggandonion · 24/03/2022 19:44

What day are you now?
