No certainly doesn't seem like it @Iblinkedandiamold although maybe it will be part of their big announcement later in the week?!
I'm so conflicted about the news of rising cases. I feel all on-edge again. People around me are panicking about the numbers and being all worst-case-scenario (looking at you DH
) and the sentiment against "anti-vaxxers" is quite nasty. I just can't believe that such a small percentage of people unvaccinated can be the cause of the rise in numbers or indeed the panic. Waterford has the highest percentage of people vaccinated - over 99% - and yet it also now has the highest incidence rate of Covid. So it has to be that the vaccine is not as effective as we'd thought/hoped. And while I see an argument for giving boosters to some people, I also agree with WHO that we shouldn't give boosters until all those vunerable and at risk in other countries have at least had an initial dose. Not only that, but I admit I'm nervous about getting 3 or more doses of this vaccine in the space of a year - has that been tested on anyone? I'd also like to know of the numbers in hospital with covid, how many of them got it while in hospital. But most importantly, I don't understand why our health system is in danger of collapse if we have 60 patients in ICU beds. This has been going on so long, surely we could have invested in this area by now?
I'm fed up with it all and the low-level anxiety and the just not bloody knowing what is going to happen I know nobody has a crystal ball
