What sort of dog? Our dog is getting on a bit, but has been brilliant through lockdown.
My dd2 was in a house share in Dublin, paying rent whilst wfh in Cork with mammy. The others were there for six months, all stuck in a one year contract which the landlord wouldn't break. But she was with ddog! So not all bad.

Covid-19: NI lockdown extended until 1 April Just announced, I've actually cried, when will it ever end.

I can't see much movement until after Easter, at this point. After the Christmas social gathering caused such a spike.
The northern figures seem better now than they have been.

Erm so M.M has come out and said J.I, S.I 1st and 2nd class back March 1st but he can't announce it until next week. Why? Is he just finalising details and figuring out his it'll work is it? I don't understand how it can leaked for days but wont be announced until next week. When next week? Monday? Friday? When.

He's a sprocker spaniel, so a springer/cocker cross. He's lovely but very barky, and can't cope with all the fields and rabbits so has to be on lead all the time, poor lad. He's only 2 though, so hopefully he'll settle.
eggandonion · 18/02/2021 18:58

He must be so bouncy, does he do the constant Springer tail wagging?
The numbers are up here again, I can't think what else we can do.

What in gods name is going on !! Leaks nphet leaks, sub committees. My head is fried . I am so despondent. They must be cautious with what giving kids their constitutional right to an education back. This is a living nightmare for working parents and all parents who are trying to keep all going. Its like they are playing with our minds and kids minds at that.i am so upset for my kids. I go from nearly crying to fuming to just hear down and move on. The control imposed on our lives is going on soooo long its so so draining and thats without job stresss or financial strain when so many have that to contebd with too. Omg all there is is covid and the govt/ ireland has no other illness or issue to contend with !! Im so upset.

MoreOfADogPerson · 18/02/2021 21:08

He's more cocker than springer, so his tail doesn't do that amazing springer thing, but he lives in a cocker scent bubble! What sort of dog do you have?

Anyone give anything up for lent? I don't know if I will or not, need to decide quickly I know!
Maybe chocolate..
I don't drink much so no point in saying alcohol..
Or take up a healthy habit..
Any ideas?
All are welcome!

Iblinkedandiamold · 18/02/2021 21:24

@halfpasteleven I think we've given up enough already. Grin

halfpasteleven · 18/02/2021 21:27

@Iblinkedandiamold I think you have a very valid point there..
My DS is 8 and wants me to give up something with him so that's why I'm contemplating it.
Maybe a daily treat would be a better option.

eggandonion · 18/02/2021 22:04

My dog is of unknown parentage, a happy accident. He ended up in rescue, because he was an out of control hooligan. We had to get a behaviour lady in, after an hour with her he became a very good boy. Basically we had to ignore him when he was naughty.
My neighbour has two lovely cocker spaniels who are really pretty girls.
I'm not giving up anything for Lent, I have nothing much to give up! My main treat was going for coffee somewhere nice, that's gone.

When I was a child, I used to say I was giving up outrageous things, like sky-diving. I had a 100% Lenten success rate!!!

God no.

I'm really bad doing Lent in normal times, never mind now Grin

Another wet weekend. I think will hibernate until June.

The wind and rain woke me up at about 5.30 this morning. Went back to sleep and only got up at 12. (Not working today thank goodness.) I didnt know if I should breakfast or lunch. Yesterday was a lovely day, what happened.

Iblinkedandiamold · 19/02/2021 13:14

I had no idea there was an announcement last night via newspaper. At 10pm I was watching blank panther. I have only just read an article on Ireland's fury at 5 more weeks of level 5 and the way it was announced.

JaneJeffer · 19/02/2021 13:37

I've just found out from your post @Iblinkedandiamold Sad

eggandonion · 19/02/2021 13:38

There was no announcement, just a chat with the mirror. Not great communication.

OP posts:
JaneJeffer · 19/02/2021 13:40

Micheal is the worst. No leadership whatsoever.

Iblinkedandiamold · 19/02/2021 13:43

@eggandonion yeah that's what I meant. It's complete madness communicating like that.
@JaneJeffer only it popped up on Facebook I wouldn't have known. Although I knew restrictions weren't going to lifted I was hoping for a slight increase in distance allowed to travel. Getting tired of the same walks every day. Also all the confusion over the schools. Leo has said they might open on March 1st but MM says they will.

M0rT · 19/02/2021 13:49

@halfpasteleven when I was in school, in the black and white 80s 😁, we had to sign up to something for lent.
I always washed the dishes for my Mammy, this was handy as it was my job anyway!

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 19/02/2021 14:16

I was on Twitter late last night so gleaned it from there.
The government seems to be tone deaf; that is no way to disclose the news of ongoing level five restrictions.
The Examiner has an article about the return of primary school students in March, in two phases.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 19/02/2021 15:17

Whoever is in charge of communications should be sacked!! It's an absolute disgrace how important info is being (or not) relayed to the public. Feck sake.
And what a night 😳 It's still dreadful here, no way am I going for a walk in that! I'm not wearing my Fitbit today, I could not be dealing with it reminding me to move every hour!!
