£33.25 to take our toddler to Toddler Club at Everyman cinema! 😮

I know this isn’t AIBU, but surely I am not AIBU to be stunned at that price?!

Other cinema chains usually charge £3-7 for the toddler ticket and then any accompanying adults are free.

But at Everyman, it’s £15.25 for the toddler and first adult, then add £15.50 for a second adult(!!) plus a £2.50 booking fee!

It’s one of DS’s most beloved stories so I guess we will stretch to him going with just one of us, but it would have been amazing for both of us to see his reaction to it. Just seems like a crazy price 😔

What is it? Can you rent it online??

ToKittyornottoKitty · 09/10/2026 23:27

Just wait until you can watch it at home, toddlers don’t need to go to the cinema

NameChangeScot · 09/10/2026 23:38

It is the Everyman which is more of a 'luxury' cinema experience. Take them to movies for juniors at Cineworld if you want cheap trip to cinema.

I think £15 for two tickets isn't bad, it's only expensive because you have two adults going.

newmummy2006yay2 · 09/10/2026 23:46

Yeah, plus it's 2 tickets

oddsbobshammerandtongs · 09/10/2026 23:49

Sounds reasonable to me. How do you expect venues to keep the lights on and pay the wages?

Sorry but yes absolutely this. It would be great if life was just free all round but unfortunately it isn’t.

liveforsummer · 09/10/2026 23:52

If you want the posh cinema you’ll need to pay posh cinema prices. otherwise go to mini mornings at Vue or get a Disney plus trial for 3.99 and watch it at home. Not a bad price for the fancy experience

pizzaHeart · 09/10/2026 23:53

It sounds too expensive. Would your kid even sit through the whole movie?
Tbh I would rent it on Amazon or sing up to Disney or Netflix for a month.

MintTwirl · 09/10/2026 23:53

That sounds quite normal for 2 adult tickets(plus a child) at a luxe type cinema.
Two adult tickets at ciineworld is over £20 and that’s a more standard cinema.

Crikeyalmighty · 09/10/2026 23:54

Personally I think 4 Everyman tix should be given to every family every month for mental health!! Fantastically nice places, although only in certain places- ours is gorgeous

Hanalam · 10/10/2026 08:15

To explain about toddler club showings - they’re cartoons or animations less than an hour long and it’s a relaxed viewing so it’s okay if the little one wants to get up or you need to leave the room etc.

We are more than happy to pay luxe prices for luxe cinema experiences but thought Toddler club would be more in line with other cinemas. The toddlers aren’t really benefitting from the luxe experience, are they!

Would happily go to other cinema chains for their Toddler clubs but unfortunately the days those clubs are on, are on my working days. Sad times!

And yes - I guess we will just be loading it up on iPlayer then…

Don't worry OP, you're not missing out - toddlers hate the cinema. Mine couldn't manage it until they were 4-5, it's too big, noisy and boring for them.

Watch it on TV and save the money for soft play on a rainy day, that's what they actually enjoy (sadly!!)

Not all toddlers.

Dd1 loved the cinema and we didn't even take her to toddler viewings. I recall her age 2.5 transfixed by Tigger the movie just amazed by what was happening. Mouth slightly open as she followed the movie with a intense look on the screen. She didn't make a sound throughout. It's one of my favourite memories of her.

Hanalam · 10/10/2026 08:31

He’s been to two toddler cinemas so far and really enjoyed them. He’s quite physically cautious so doesn’t really know what to do at soft play… he’s definitely not a climber! Grin

I just checked and normal prices for our local Everyman is 19 each plus booking fee, so this seems a good deal.? You’d not expect thr adults to also be able to go cheaply and if it’s just for fhe toddler then one parent is enough?

Twoweeksinaugust · 10/10/2026 08:38

Simple case of supply and demand, enough people are paying it so they'll keep charging it. Vote with your feet!

I don’t know, it’s a luxury cinema, it’s 15.50 and booking fee, so 19 quid for one parent and toddler to go see the movie. The issue is the op wants both parents to go, so of course it costs more, but normal adult price is 19 quid at Everyman, plus the 2.50 booking fee. It feels about right to me,

iamnotalemon · 10/10/2026 08:53

This is a bit like the woman moaning at the cost of a £16 cheesecake (after she had paid the price).
Is the film not being shown at a peasant cinema so you can both afford to see his reaction?

Cockerpoocrazy · 10/10/2026 09:00

It’s £3.99 for a toddler and an adult at The Light . Additional adults £3.99.

emuloc · 10/10/2026 09:06

There are cheaper cinemas around, I would have thought. So either pay the price for the fancy one, or don't.

Fupoffyagrasshole · 10/10/2026 09:10

Why not just to with the toddler then - no need for 2 adults

I go regularly with my 5 year old cus I like the fancy cinema and it includes a hot drink, popcorn and slice of cake in that price

I think it’s fine

out local Vue and Cineworld do cheaper screening but are a bit grim in comparison

MintTwirl · 10/10/2026 09:10

Reel cinema are doing tickets for a family of 4 for £5 for the slightly older films(Minions, Tou Story 5).

Yeah, it’s £17.75 for one adult and toddler, compared to just £3-7 at other cinemas. I thought it’d be a bit more in line with other venues, considering it is Toddler club after all. 🤷🏼‍♀️
