Just had an email to say ours is going up to £64 from the end of May.
Family of 4 - wouldn’t say particular high usage family. Live in the West Midlands.

Just wanting to compare really.

Southern Water and it’s gone up by 45% on last year.

If you’ve got fish or wildlife in it you shouldn’t top up a pond with treated tap water, get a water butt on your downpipes!

Most of the time - rainfall tops it up but it is all filtered through the filtration system DH has created anyway. The water butt waters everything else in the garden.

Just gone up to £109 a month with united utilities, they are expecting a drought so soon it will be no hose pipes etc.

Southern water... we pay £121/month for family of 5

£1000 pa. Severn Trent. 3 adults. I need a water meter.

TheStirrer · 16/05/2025 13:32

Wessex water here - not on a meter and risen from £150 to £188 a month this year
We have a five bedroom house but kids now at uni so have requested a meter as it is just 2 of us. They are suppose to fit meter within 6 weeks but it’s now been 8.
I reckon they are probably inundated with requests……

South East Water, 2 adults on a water meter. Our monthly average usage is £27. DD has been set at £30 but they’ve now changed it to £39!

EsmeQuibbles · 16/05/2025 13:45

Our new bill is £76 per month. We are on a water meter which was already installed when we moved in a few years ago. Three adults.
We have a laundry wash on every day as there's work uniform that needs changing daily. United Utilities.

Welsh water 2 adults not metered. Only showers just gone up from £58pm to £78pm

Thats a lot, why don't you get a meter? We're Welsh Water, two adults, showers only, plus dishwasher and washing machine both 4-5 times a week £24.50 pm, although I'm expecting that to rise soon.

notreallyme2023 · 16/05/2025 23:17

Forced on to a meter by water company (zone 4 London). They can install them and make everyone move over within 18 months. Was £52 a year ago with no meter and now £94 a month with the meter. 2 adults and 2 teenagers (1 at uni)

UmopapIsdn · 16/05/2025 23:26

£247 for the year. No meter. I’m in Scotland and I don’t think meters are a big thing here. I’m sure people will rush to correct me if I’m wrong!
