Dh told me we are 700 in credit with them.
I don't want the heating on more than an hour a day until winter hits.
What is everyone s situation at this point.

About £250, giving monthly reads and still adding to that each month atm with our payments. Thermostat set at 18 when we are in the house during the day so heating is coming on as it needs to

PlantDoctor · 27/11/2022 15:17

Similar amount, and they STILL upped our DD to more than we'd typically use (including increase!)

InTheFutilityRoomEatingBiscuits · 27/11/2022 15:17

No credit, in debit.

Winter has already hit, we’ve seen minus figures overnight already and will for the foreseeable future.

Differentnamedifferentplace · 27/11/2022 15:18

£300 and they are wanting to double my DD even though I'm still accumulating credit.

Fleabigg · 27/11/2022 15:19

£500. It’s been consistently about that for ages, so we’re paying about the right amount for our usage. This doesn’t include the government rebate as that’s been going back to our bank account rather than credited to the energy account.

LBOCS2 · 27/11/2022 15:20

We're £465 in credit but this is the first month we've really used the heating so it'll be interesting to see how that pans out once I submit the readings.

LadyMarmaladeAtkins · 27/11/2022 15:20

Just got the bills from different companies.

Electricity in credit this month by about £60. This will increase for the next 4 months as our electricity in the winter is only marginally above what it is in the summer.

Gas I just paid around £60 for a month's; this will probably go up as we get into the winter.

misspepper · 27/11/2022 15:21

I’ve about 4 months of my monthly D.D as credit. I overpay a little more than they suggest each month to give me peace of mind through the winter months.
Its a 1 bed flat so my bills aren’t too horrific at the moment due to low fixed rate.

If your £700 in credit why dont you want the heating on for more than 1 hour a day?
How many months of credit have you built up?

grumpypug · 27/11/2022 15:24

£1300 in credit. We've been really careful with the heating recently so hopefully it will last over winter.

SuffolkBargeWoman · 27/11/2022 15:27

£4000
Yep. Four Thousand pounds.
They wouldn't let us reduce the payments.
Suddenly they reduced them to £5 a month.

I thought we were high with £1300!

FinallyFluid · 27/11/2022 15:32

We are about £600 in credit.

I am awaiting an inheritance (would rather have my mother) and when that lands I am putting £1,000 with Octopus, so I can stick two fingers up at Putin and turn the heating on day and night if I want. 😂

Bookaholic73 · 27/11/2022 15:34

Almost £600.

They have just increased our DD by another £40 Sue we now pay £220 a month. But I’m ok with that, hopefully the credit will help out over the next 12 months.

4yearsandwaiting · 27/11/2022 15:36

£700 and paying £160 a month which has been enough to cover and a bit however this month looking at the app readings it'll be about £200 this month. We are having heating on for an hour in morning and a few hours in afternoon. I'm disabled and rarely leave the house /can't move around much and the heating does help me move easier so I'm trying to find a balance to get us through the winter.

Ciri · 27/11/2022 15:38

Why is everyone leaving so much money in the energy company’s bank account? Take back your money!!!!

PermanentTemporary · 27/11/2022 15:38

Was about £500, now about £450.

Good Energy were very quick to pay me when I built up a previous credit with them - I had to ask for it but no quibble, brief discussion then a cheque in the post.

KleineDracheKokosnuss · 27/11/2022 15:39

About £450. Only just started using the heating other than just anti-freeze, and we still don’t use it much, so hopefully it’ll do us for the winter.

Theredjellybean · 27/11/2022 15:39

1800....and they told us we had to increase DD from £170 to£560 a month about six months ago ..we said no and went to monthly readings and paying the bill
Absolutely ridiculous..we have heating on now am and pm .

Itdjgsurchg · 27/11/2022 15:40

£871. Hoping they will reduce my payments soon but suppose it depends on the price increases coming up. Currently pay £352 a month direct debit.

TiredButAlive · 27/11/2022 15:42

No credit because I just pay for what I've used each month. I have bitter experience of trying to reclaim credit in the past. Never again!!

MeMyBooksAndMyCats · 27/11/2022 15:42

In debt by £2,000. I pay prepayment meter.

The joys.

KangarooKenny · 27/11/2022 15:43

About £500 in credit and that figure hasn’t changed, so I’m happy with how things are going at the moment.
Ive been saving clean water to use as flush water and my DD has gone down.

lljkk · 27/11/2022 15:48

Last time I looked, £170 credit on elec.

DH put our DD payment down to £3/month which should be enough all winter (because of govt £400).

I Said it a million times, I have no idea why other people have such high elec bills. DH is bit obsessive about only running wash machine in day time when solar panels most matter, I suppose.

We're on oil & there's a lot in the tank.

HumourReplacementTherapy · 27/11/2022 15:49

Nothing. I'm not giving them my money. I save it in my own pot in a bank account earning interest for me,not for them. I'm 179 in 'credit' as my payment has been taken but my bill is due tomorrow and will be over £200 so I'll just pay the extra.
