Thanks @Unescorted

Only spend today was £6.50 for some small photographic prints that a friend is doing for me. They'll look nice in my new office.

Unescorted · 01/02/2022 22:50

em - glad you aren't leaving us. I need my daily catface
life - antisocial media is right here too.

Our local FB page is all sturdy boxes, bad parking and forriners in the village.
My DH is borrowing my car tomorrow... It is on vapours so that is a £70 saving.

Thinking about it FB has a really good Freecycle group. It is just in the village but you get all sorts.

Hello.....

Not been on these threads for ages, but thought I’d say hi.

Don’t think I’ve posted in about a year since I got my new job. Still loving it and weirdly it’s really helped me keep on the straight and narrow with my finances. I’m actually saving regularly, paying myself on payday like a good frugaleer 😁. I’m almost at the savings goal I set myself. After that it’s going into a pension. I was told I was eligible to go into the workplace one but not heard anything since. I’ve chased them up today. Otherwise I’ll just sort one out for myself.

ememem84 · 02/02/2022 11:22

Thanks!

Happierwithouthim · 02/02/2022 15:13

That's great news curls

ememem84 · 02/02/2022 16:14

£338 on dining chairs from dunelm. Sigh.

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/02/2022 16:23

Never ending for house renovations
Great going curls

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/02/2022 16:47

£328 car insurance a drop from last year.
£165 lunch for work but that will be expenses
Returned decathlon trainers so the search goes on.
Still need to fill car
£25 riding lesson

Unescorted · 02/02/2022 18:48

Curls it is lovely to see you. Great news that the job is going well.

Life £165 for lunch!!!!! I am lucky if I get a fiver.

I have no frugal news at all except I recycled my mug of tea 5 times before getting a chance to drink it. The microwave I hate has had a reprieve.

In unfrugal news, the kettle broke. DH bought a new one though on his way home.

Frugally, I didn’t turn the heating on today whilst at home. Feel exhausted today. Freedom day tomorrow! So back to work.

Had a video call with the GP instructed by my legal cover. He’s going to recommend some physio for my sore leg and wrists. Will be interesting to see how leg/wrist feel after a proper day at work tomorrow, as I’ve been covid housebound. It’s now been three weeks since the accident.

Yeah but that’s a permanent investment in your home, not some random spend, so all good I’d say.

£5.50 spent today on top up essentials.

I also submitted my gas and electric meter readings and we arenot as much in debit as they’d estimated. Won’t have to up the direct debit for a while yet anyway which was a nice surprise.

8stone13 · 02/02/2022 22:16

Total NSD for me today 👏🏻

@ememem84 However I am planning to order 4 dining chairs from Dunelm tomorrow costing exactly £338 - I wonder if we're getting the same ones?!

Don’t forget top cash back for your dining chairs, I’ve had cash back from dunelm and they’re quite speedy payers, too!
A top up shop for me today just bread, fruit etc., will try to keep spends low.

8stone13 · 03/02/2022 09:24

@ememem84 Ah no - the ones I'm after are called Felix I think! Same price though 😀

@HTruffle I used to do cash back religiously then got out of the habit - thanks for the reminder 👍🏻

I've got 5 new internal doors about to be delivered. Total cost for the doors & fitting will be just under a grand 😩 The existing ones desperately need replacing after 41 years, but why oh why oh why oh why do they cost so much (I priced up & this is actually a good cost here 🤦🏼‍♀️)

grannycake · 03/02/2022 09:32

£37.77 Ocado (low because I rejected all the subs) £31 Hello Fresh but cancelled future orders and £41 for dog food for the month

ememem84 · 03/02/2022 11:27

@8stone13 I just looked at the felix chairs. They’re lovely (if iTs those!)

8stone13 · 03/02/2022 11:28

@ememem84 These are they 🙂

Looks like my energy is going up by around £60 a month (it's already £125) & then my income is going down by about £34 a month due to the NI rise. So not far off £100 pcm down & that's not including inflation on everything else...I'm lucky that it won't tip me over the edge. I've no idea how some are managing though (I know many aren't 😔)
