Nsd planned today.
You got this em. It’s all planned out
I had a multi fuel range 90cm. That width is rubbish
Welcome back

Wolfcub · 07/02/2022 09:06

Why is the width rubbish Life?

Wolfcub · 07/02/2022 09:09

I have an instant pot. I don't use it enough really but great for slow cooking and cooking rice. Also great for mash and stews etc. I'm less keen on the whole chicken, it cooks beautifully but I hate peeling the flaccid skin off

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/02/2022 11:10

Let me rephrase that wolf. I had a 90cm with 2 ovens. One 60 and one 30 wide. Side by side. Struggled to get baking trays for the 30
and hardly used it. It also wasn’t fan so took ages. Moving to a 60 wide double stacked was much more useful. If I had the space I would get 2x 60 fan side by side

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/02/2022 11:11

I did like the burner room though on top for 5 zones. My one now is electric and like pan jenga

AdoraBell · 07/02/2022 13:22

£78.45 on groceries.

FrugalFrancine · 07/02/2022 13:27

£10.50 at Aldi
£1.50 on carparking

CurlsandCurves · 07/02/2022 14:27

Weekly shop done. After a really good few weeks, I’ve gone £30 over this week. Need to pull things back. I think I’ll do a freezer inventory later because it’s getting a bit full, so I’ll make sure to use what’s in there and get the grocery bill down.

8stone13 · 07/02/2022 15:02

5 new internal doors have just arrived, the fitting starts tomorrow. Not only is the whole process going to leave me little change from a grand, the doors have to acclimatise to internal temperature for 24 hours apparently so right now I'm paying for energy just to keep £1k's worth of doors warm & allow them to settle & get comfortable 🙄😀

Mrsmadevans · 07/02/2022 16:03

Can't help laughing at the thought of using the heating for this doors eight 🤣
Tesco 20 pretty good l had 4 yellow stickered steaks 😊
& 2 chickens .
All in t'freezer now 😊

HumbugWhale · 07/02/2022 16:28

We want to replace some internal doors, I worked out we could probably afford it soon but didn't realise I had to factor in the heating for them!

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/02/2022 18:54

Heating the house for doors Grin

Alfiemoon1 · 07/02/2022 19:01

Heating the doors made me laugh thank you it’s been a rubbish day in work so that cheered me up sorry

8stone13 · 07/02/2022 21:52

Glad to have given everyone a giggle, I think we all need that at the moment 😀

You should have seen my face when the joiner delivered & said: "you'll have to keep your heating on today for the doors" 🤨

I appreciate they've been in cold storage & need to get used to warmth, & the last thing I want is for them to be fitted then expand or contract or whatever it is they do & cause problems, but honestly, anyone would think they're on a spa break 😆

Good frugal news - sold an item on eBay for £13
Bad frugal news - dishwasher appears to have died 😣

I fear the income from eBay will not cover a dishwasher repair or replacement 🤔

Happierwithouthim · 08/02/2022 06:23

I won €20 on gaa lotto at home, ticket cost me €5 I only bought it as I was renewing an annual ticket for a colleagues children, I do that for him & he buys me one in his local club weekly.

Happierwithouthim · 08/02/2022 06:23

The doors getting heating on for them Grin

ememem84 · 08/02/2022 06:40

We’re the doors offered a massage and a hot towel @8stone13 😂😂

We are back on the building train. I am all over the place anxiety wise but also excited to hell about the work being done.

Withdrew the premium bonds I have so the work can be paid for.

Unescorted · 08/02/2022 07:04

8 It is at this moment I realise my job skews what is considered normal..... of course the doors need a spa day. And sand gets tucked up inside in bed, and any copper work gets a night watchman.

We have managed to get several more years out of our last dishwasher with the power of Google and You Tube.

My ideal set up would be a large gas hob and a horizontal 2 x full size electric oven stack, plus grill. One would need a steam injector. I am not a fan of range cookers because the ovens are too low & I keep burning myself.

£12 top up in Sainburys. That will get us to the end of the weekend.

£29 m&s on pants for dd. She’s decided we’re not wearing nappies to nursery any more. So have sent her in with about 6 pairs of pants (all we had at home) and the same change of clothes.

The new pants are so we have more at home. Big girls growing up.

CurlsandCurves · 08/02/2022 09:36

@8stone13 hope the doors had a lovely warm comfy nights sleep!

@ememem84 when did your dd get so grown up? Only seems 5 mins ago you were expecting her!

Had an email from works pension scheme saying I’m all signed up. The website is really easy to navigate and when I’ve got to my instant access savings goal (£800 to go), then I’m going to set up a regular payment to my pension.

I’m really chuffed with myself, never dreamed I’d get so organised. I don’t earn much at all but nor do I spend much either. My wages are basically for anything the boys need, clothes, going out etc. Plus birthdays, Christmas which I save for all year round.

prismWitch · 08/02/2022 11:36

@Alfiemoon1 I have ninja foodi and love it. It is really good in all 3 options (air fryer, slow cooker and pressure cooker). I also love that if I finish slow cooker and it is a little bit hard, bam turn on for pressure cooker 10 min and meat falls appart on a fork

Dumfee · 08/02/2022 11:46

Curls that's great and very grown up to be paying extra to pension!!

NSD yesterday (hooray!) but as is usual there are lots of spends today:
£40 Hair
£350 owed to mum
£25 cat sitter
£??? Car and house insurance
£140 dds birthday party

I know we need to cut back but so much is already committed

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/02/2022 11:55

Oo that is very adult to pay a pension. Well done curls

8stone13 · 08/02/2022 12:37

@Happierwithouthim @ememem84 @Unescorted @CurlsandCurves I think the doors had a nice cosy night. Two of them are being fitted right now so let's hope they don't mind the shift in temperature from downstairs to upstairs. If they struggle I can always give them a nice massage & maybe a nourishing mask to make them feel more relaxed 😀

£23.80 on a dental check-up this morning, then £9.78 on M&S food, got some yellow stickered treat bargains which is always nice. Dishwasher man on his way so I'll have to see what the damage is there 😬
