Christmas meal with book group £22. Had a lovely evening so worth it.
Dh & dd have taken a last minute decision to go to watch dh's team 200 miles away so not back yet but £50 spent. Not budgeted for but am okay with it. Dd has loved it apparently!

Gensola · 09/12/2021 18:55

£60 on gel nails and a spa pedicure with gel toes. Was literal bliss.
£30 on a dress and £4 on hair scrunchies.
Hopefully my refund from the two dresses that don’t fit will be there soon.
DH is out at works Xmas do tonight so I’m having Indian takeaway with a friend, haven’t had one in ages so looking forward to it.

Mrsmadevans · 09/12/2021 19:07

We’re in. Utterly exhausted but relaxed. Just under £3,000 for removals.

northender · 09/12/2021 23:45

Well done on the move Adora may you be happy there x

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/12/2021 07:55

Lovemaltesers · 10/12/2021 12:22

Great news adora

Have just bimbled around today. Just loaded the car for a trip to the tip and will then stop in briefly to Dmum.

Spent £98 in Tesco. £98!!! On not a lot.

Wolfcub · 10/12/2021 14:19

£70 Xmas gifts for my immediate team members, 30 cards, baby gift and Xmas present for dog walker from the dog 🙄

Really not well at the moment. Supposed to be going out with friends tonight for Xmas and they haven't been together for a year so feel I should go. Don't fancy it much though and think it'll be a very early night and no drinking for me

Mrsmadevans · 10/12/2021 22:05

Wolf hope you feel much better very soon Flowers
Congratulations on your moving house @AdoraBell Smile
Only a fiver on bread and milk and bots, 12 in local discount shop for chocolate, cards , chewing gum Smile

Gensola · 11/12/2021 10:51

Congratulations on your new home adora

Sorry to hear you’re poorly wolf Flowers

We need a new vacuum as our dyson has broken 3 years after we got it. Raging!
Going into town to replace it and get DH a new coat, I am hoping to slip a new lippy into the purchases!

moimichme · 11/12/2021 13:55

Gen Not sure if it's any help, but we have a Dyson that we inherited from friends of ours about 7 years ago when it broke. Issue was with the cable that connects it from the machine to the mains. We've now fixed that same part 3 times (!) at £10 each time. Well worth a try if you have an electrical repair shop anywhere nearby.

Spent £50 on postage of Christmas gifts for U.S. family Shock plus £4.10 at M&S food (Christmas treats) and £75 for DH final Christmas gift. MUST stop twitching now. We have enough now.

AdoraBell · 11/12/2021 16:31

Thanks everyone 😄 canned believe I’m so relaxed right after moving, I hadn’t realised how stressed I was in the last house.

Re Dyson vacuum, definitely look at fixing it before buying a replacement. We’ve had ours for nearly 20 years, it’s travel around the world -to Chile and back again. The cable was playing up recently and DH chopped off the worn end and put it back together.

Hope you feel better soon Wolf

Glad the panto was good Mrsmadevans

So what colour lippy did you get Gen ? 😄

NSD today, yesterday I spent about £4 on snacks and a toothbrush.

Mrsmadevans · 11/12/2021 21:53

Spent 30 in Tesco on stamps and whisky for a pressie Smile
Gen hope you can mend that vac , have you any repair cafes near you?
They will look at it free of charge for you Smile
Adorabell so happy for you lovely Smile
Moi that is a hell of a lot of money for postage ! Xmas Shock

Gensola · 11/12/2021 22:55

Ooh I’ll check out repair cafes, that would be great!
adora I got Charlotte tilbury “Very Victoria” - I am pleased with itSmile

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/12/2021 07:22

Well yesterday was not frugal but good fun. Home today

moimichme · 12/12/2021 08:41

Oh and congratulations on the new house, Adora! So nice you can settle in a wee bit before Christmas.

Yes, Mrs, the cost of U.S. shipment was high, but the gifts are all going to one place for distribution over there, so it was 2.5kg in weight. Thankfully we don't send things across from here that often!

We may be looking for a real Christmas tree today, so possibly not a very frugal day again...but will be nice to have a tree, as long as we can rearrange the furniture to find a place to put it! Xmas Grin

ememem84 · 12/12/2021 08:52

Fell off thread. Oops.

marthasmum · 12/12/2021 16:29

Sat in waiting room after booster! I know the NHS is under huge strain but they have done a fantastic job either the booster programme I think.
Continuing to over spend on Xmas. I am now justifying it to myself on the grounds we probably won't be going out Ana doing very much after Xmas ...if things carry on the way they are Confused

Gensola · 12/12/2021 16:40

So we both have covid 😱 we tested today as we were visiting a vulnerable person for their birthday and we both came up positive on lateral flow. So we did PCR and awaiting confirmation. So bummed out as we have lots of nice plans which are all cancelled now - meet ups with friends we haven’t seen in ages.

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/12/2021 16:42

Ah bloody hell gen. This year needs to do one for you

marthasmum · 12/12/2021 19:22

Oh no gen. I agree, you deserve something nice to happen. I hope you and your DP have a mild case

Mrsmadevans · 12/12/2021 19:49

Oh God Gen that is a right pain. I so hope you are feeling ok Flowers
Em glad you are back on we miss you sweetheart Smile
Moi l love having a real tree the smell and the look and feel of it is so lovely Smile
life glad you enjoyed yourself Smile
Martha enjoy yourself lovely , there isn't much to rave about these days so you may as well spoil yourself Smile l have friends in Canada and they can't even afford their blood pressure meds because it's so expensive Sad We are so lucky with our NHS even though there is a massive backlog and a waiting list of 6 Million Flowers
NSD for me yay about time! Grin

Gensola · 12/12/2021 20:10

Thanks guys Smile we both feel totally fine thanks. We have a house full of nice food and wine and I just ordered animal crossing so I can play with my nephew and mum who both play a lot 😂
I am sad about the party and the other things we have to cancel but we can have a nice 9 days and then hopefully make it back to NI for Xmas 🎄
